"turning it up a notch,let's go then." spoke calvus.
steel's legs became covered just like his arms before striking at calvus. calvus ducked one punch and went to block the other with his hammer when steel's arm glowed milky white for a second and went straight through the hammer. he then connected a hard punch to calvus chest pushing him back a few feet.
"the hell was that." calvus thought. steel moved in again, his speed had increased and from the looks of it calvus was more on the defensive side dodging with side steps waiting for an opening.
calvus swung his hammer down into the ground and went after steel barefisted. his speed increased as well as he positioned his feet in an awkward manner before throwing a straight kick that steel pushed out the way but suddenly felt a strong hit to his side.
"there it is again. I was sure I blocked that kick but somehow he still kicked me. I could have sworn I saw two of him for a split second. they both were exchanging blows. each time calvus went to block a kick or punch from steel. his arm or legs would glow white upon phasing through calvus body part he was using to block with and turned silver the second it was completely through it resulting in calvus getting hit.
"hmmm so his arms turn to liquid steel once it comes in contact with me bypassing my blocks or attacks and hardens right after becoming solid again." calvus thought assessing steel's ability.
"this double I keep seeing for seconds at a time. it must have something to do with his ability or his armor. it could be enchanted. if so this will be more difficult than I imagined." steel thought also assessing calvus movements.
suddenly, calvus chest began to feel heavy. looking down he could see a milky white energy on his armour chest plate.
"hmmm, I see he has more tricks up his sleeve, however none of them will work." he thought. calvus bolted in as an afterimage of himself appeared in front of steel.
steel focused on blocking the attack when he was kneed hard in his back. after knocking steel forward calvus took a wide stance stretching out both arms. the war hammer shot out from the ground spinning and as steel was falling forward the hammer took his legs from under him. steel was already stumbling forward from the knee to his back and with the hammer moving like it had a will of its own hitting his legs so unexpectedly steel didn't react in time to use his phasing trick with his ability.
this resulted with steel on the ground face first and before he could move a heavy weight was felt on his back. steel groaned in pain while looking up confused. calvus was standing right in front of him so the natural question to himself was who or what was top of his back that was so heavy he couldn't really move. at first he thought the war hammer was on top of him but calvus had it in his hands as well while standing in front of him.
"what the hell is his ability, why can't I move damn it." steel yelled in his head. unknowing to steel calvus himself was standing on his back. calvus ability was called ghost. he could make afterimages of himself that weren't like normal afterimages. his afterimages looked like a ghost of himself. it was transparent but still had his exact colors. but the most important thing was everything about his afterimage was just as really as him including weight, power and skill. and could attack physically.
"your ability is strong and very interesting,if I had your ability I would use it differently.anyway I'll end this quickly with a kick to your head knocking you out. thanks for the experience steel, you're going to be a great warrior one day." said Calvus.
"the fuck is this guy talking about, I can't tell if he's insulting me or giving me props."
"either way this fight isn't overrrrrrr." steel yelled as multiple silver swords appeared in the air. one of them slapped calvus across his face using the flat side of the sword while the others stabbed in the ground around calvus in a circle as silver and milky energy strings shot from the hilts of every sword in the ground meeting above calvus head.
Steel's unexpected attack caught calvus by surprise which also made his afterimage fade. his afterimage would disappear if he was hit after activating it but he could also instantly bring it forth again. earlier whenever steel connected a solid hit it was because his punches landed before calvus afterimage split from himself. other times calvus afterimage speed was greater than steel's.
steel didn't know any of this and was just fighting not know how calvus ability somewhat worked. earlier when calvus made his war hammer come to him it wasn't telekinesis or anything. it was actually his afterimage who grabbed the hammer and hurled it low to the ground at steel. at times it was too fast for steel to see and other times he would be able to see it for a second or two before it vanished. this was why his ability was named ghost.
feeling the great pressure off his back steel jumped up with a raised arm and moved his hand like he was commanding fire to rise. as he did the same milky white and silver liquid energy engulfed the swords around calvus and rose from the ground.
calvus instantly fell to his knees. everything happened too fast and was in perfect sync that he had zero opportunity to counter. his body became so heavy it felt as if an elephant was sitting on his shoulders. this was part of steel's ability putting the weight of steel on others making them slower or unable to move. this was just one part of his ability. it was the same thing he used against Damon when they were arm wrestling but to a higher degree.
Calvus gritted his teeth as he forced himself to stand back up which shocked steel. it was more he could do with his ability but he was sure this tactic would work well. by the time he snapped out of his disbelief calvus appeared in front of him low to the ground throwing a punch to his ribs and faded almost instantly after contact knocking him into a huge cactus plant.
the area they were fighting in was part desert and part Forrest but they were currently in the desert area.
Arrrrg! steel yelled in pain as his face hit the ground. he looked around and pushed himself up holding his ribs. it was a good clean blow he had taken. "I knew it, it's two of him somehow." steel said to himself
He knew this for a fact now because the original calvus was still in his weight barrier,even though calvus managed to stand up he couldn't take a step out of the space steel had created because the weight steel forced on him was too great.
it was also affecting steel as well. the longer he kept the barrier up the more his energy would drain and so he knew he had to get the battle over quickly.
"enough, now that I know it's two of you somehow let's play a little more serious." steel said angrily with clear annoyance in his voice.
he released the weight barrier mainly because it was taking a toll on him but also for another reason.
he then generated two silver swords that were covered by his energy. the wavy silver and milky lava lamp flow of energy was faster than before as it rotated around it for a few seconds and then was sucked inside them turning them all white with silver swirls that looked embedded within the swords.
calvus felt relieved that the pressure was gone. it took incredible focus for him to use afterimage while he was under steel's weighting skill. he was actually having a harder time with steel than he wanted to admit.
"hmph more tactics I see,well let's see how impressive you can be." calvus says taunting steel.
"you know what,at first I thought you were a good humble person,but it's clear you're just an overconfident egotistical brat." steel retorts back taking a fighting stance.
"you know nothing about me,you know nothing about living in the shadow of a person and the expectations that come with that shit." calvus yelled.
steel smiled from ear to ear hearing this. he didn't expect for calvus to say something like that but decided to take advantage of it to try and throw him off his game.
"sounds like daddy issues." steel said in a crybaby tone.
calvus eyes became wide as his face turned red and veins bulged from his neck and forehead. A guest of strong forceful wind burst from his being as three transparent figures of himself appeared by his side. they flickered fading in and out fast.
"I figured you could do more." steel says as his energy engulfed his entire body. it flowed smoothly upwards as his hair changed again becoming silver and wavy floating a little.
calvus took his hammer from his back and as soon as he did the afterimages of himself also had hammers that flickered with their bodies.
They both dashed forward at great speed. calvus was leaving an afterimage trail behind him as steel's energy also trailed behind him as well. calvus swung his hammer while steel swung both swords as they clashed generating waves of energy that turned the desert sand white.
