I woke completely tangled up in my burned orange comforter. Yesterday's events still fresh on my mind. I look over at my alarm clock's blinking digits. It's already passed eleven in the morning. No surprise there, seeing how I got into bed a little after four. My phone vibrate on the side table. I picked it up and sighed as I took notice of the caller I.D. I plastered a fake smile upon my face as I pushed the green button. "Good morning Dad," I chirp in a fake manner. "Morning Sam, it sounds like you've just woken up," dad greeted back. But before I could reply he continued: "Were you and Abby also invited towards the BBQ last night?" "Yes Dad, as a matter of fact, we were and it turned out to be a surprisingly fun event," I answered with a broad smile as a memory of yesterday's flashes into view. "I'm glad to hear that. I'm only calling to check up on you. How have you been?" I can clearly hear the curiosity shallow within my Dad's voice. I laughed lightly, "I've been doing great, Dad. The music Professor and I went on our first date yesterday and everything was perfect." I can tell that he's listening to my every word. "That's great Sam, you deserve to be happy too. I'll call you soon sweetheart. Have a nice day," Dad ended off. After saying my goodbyes to the old man; the call ended. I cuddled with my warm and comfy covers for a while longer, before getting up and slouching over towards the bathroom. Today's clothing at hand. I decided on a cute flowery Summer dress and fancy black sandals (much to outgoing for staying indoors, but it completes my outfit). A quick shower put behind me, I combed my hair and put in up into a high ponytail. As I reached the kitchen I instantly took notice in Abbs appearance. She's busy getting the contents in her handbag together. Dressed up in a fancy attire, hair done and even makeup's kissing her complexion. "Are you going somewhere?" I asked her as I sat down on a barstool at the kitchen's island. "And a good morning to you too, Sam. Indeed I am, Jin will be picking me up any minute now," she finished off. "Jin?" I asked as I looked up at her in confusion. She gave me a coy smile, but somehow it seems apologetic. Just then the doorbell chimed. Speak about the devil!
I jumped off the stool eagerly and made my way over towards the door. I looked at the scene before me, utter- and completely starstrucked as the barrier between me and the Jin-guy disappeared. Since when had they been hanging out? Taking in consideration, how he've cleaned up for their day, it must be a date. I step to the side, allowing him entrance. "Looking as beautiful as always," he claimed as soon as his eyes landed on her. "You know just how to flatter a girl," she responded with a slight blush. I'm tuned in to their conversation. Since when...! Had I been so lost in my own skin that I hadn't even taken notice in my friend's whereabouts? Had I gone through my days, eyes drunkenly shot? I've noticed, yesterday, how she knew the way through their house without asking but it didn't struck me as odd until this very moment. How much have I missed out on? For how long had they been secretly dating? I want to seriously interrogate them at the moment. Quickly I decided against it. I wouldn't want to be interrogated if the situation were put in reverse. A hand upon my shoulder pulled me back to the present. "Earth to Sam. Are you going to be okay?" Abby's voice broke through my walls of confusion. A concerned expression gracing her complexion. "Maybe we should make this another time," they fell back into conversation like I'm not even in the room. I swiped her idea away with the back of my hand. "No, please go! Enjoy yourselves. I will be fine, I promise," I smiled awkwardly at them. They looked directly at me. "Are you sure?" Seokjin questioned me. He seems like the Best-friend-type and I will keep that in mind for the future. I smiled at them and nodded my head. "Thanks Sam. Don't wait up for me, okay! I'm not sure how long we'll be out," she assured me. I sighed as I closed the door behind them. Guess that I'll be on my own today, so what am I to do?
