Rowan barely managed to squeeze the prince, the princess and the two guards onto Kurama's back. He created a clone and they went off in the direction of the exit. Rowan signalled to Mika and they went off in the opposite direction.
"I found the place where the actual trial will happen. It should be up ahead," Rowan told Mika and soon enough, they entered a chamber with another teleport gate inside of it. On each side of the gate were two statues of knights with their swords in front of them.
Mika looked at Rowan before going through the gate. Rowan was next and he went through the gate with no problems. He was blinded again and found himself in an arena. There was no doors except for a huge gate on the other side of the arena.
"Welcome to the great trial of the ancient elven king. The trial will consist of ten battles. The more battles that you win, the better the rewards at the end. Time for the great trial to commence," an old but really clear voice came from somewhere.
Rowan wanted to see where the voice came from but the gate on the other side of the arena opened. Out of the gate came two huge wooden spiders. Rowan was kind of disappointed since he thought the battles would be much harder.
The spiders shot spider webs in different directions which left Rowan baffled. It's not like the puppets couldn't see. He gathered wind chakra in his right palm. Eight Trigrams, Air Palm Enhanced. Thanks to the wind chakra, the air palm was faster and stronger penetration power.
The air palm blasted the first spider to smithereens but the second spider didn't even care and kept on shooting spider webs in random directions. Rowan created another air palm and sent the second spider to it's doom.
A buzzing sound was heard and the gate opened again. "Second round begin," the voice said and five spiders appeared. These ones were bigger than before but they did the same things as those that came before. They shot spider webs everywhere but Rowan finished all of them with an air palm.
"Third round begin," five puppet wolves appeared and they actually growled at Rowan. He looked at them and sent out another air palm. The wolves scattered and attacked Rowan from each side. He smiled at them and took a deep breath of air into his lungs.
Rat, Snake, Horse, Dog, Wind Style: Vacuum Wave. Rowan did a small spin as he exhaled a huge wave of wind chakra from his mouth. The wave smashed into the five puppet wolves and they burst into wooden pieces. Rowan felt really relaxed during this trial.
"Fourth round begin," Rowan looked at the ten puppet wolves that came from the gate. They were also bigger than the wolves that came out prior to them. Rowan smiled since he could try out another jutsu. Rat, Snake, Horse, Snake, Dog, Wind Style: Vacuum Wave Barrage.
Rowan sent out multiple waves of wind towards the puppet wolves, completely destroying their bodies. Rowan looked at the pieces of wood that was starting to pile up. "Fifth round begin," the voice was starting to get annoying at this point.
Rowan waited for the next type of animal to make it's appearance but what came out was none other than humanoid puppets. Five of them to be exact. Rowan decided to take the test seriously since he sensed some power in the puppets this time.
The five puppets rushed forward at incredible speed. Rowan could still see them but only barely. He coated his hands in chakra and rushed out too. The first puppet appeared in front of him and he punched it on the face.
He knew that the puppet was finished but before he could even think, a fist came from behind the first puppet. Out of instinct, he bent his head backwards. Rowan looked on as the fist moved past him but he didn't have time to relax cause he felt a foot smashing into his hip.
Rowan twisted his body to get rid of most of the impact and used this chance to start spinning. Rotation. A chakra dome formed around him which repelled the puppets. He stopped spinning and looked at the four puppets in front of him.
Rowan didn't want to use much chakra in this fight so he placed his hands together and created four shadowclones. As soon as they appeared, they disappeared. The four puppets suddenly shot backwards and smashed into the wall of the arena.
Where the puppets stood were the clones and all of them had a fist raised. It took one punch with a chakra coated hand to finish off a puppet. The voice didn't even give Rowan a chance to take a breather as it announced the beginning of the sixth round.
Rowan looked at the gate as ten humanoid puppets appeared. He could feel that the puppets were getting stronger but it still wasn't at the level that he had to give it his all. He walked to the place where his clones were and stood next to them.
"Looks like there is two for each of us", "First one to finish off their two wins", "Like I'll lose to any of you", "This is going to be fun," Rowan smirked as he listened to the clones' bickering. He also had something to say though.
"No one beats the original," they all rushed to the puppets. Rowan went for the two closest to him and gave each of them a hard punch to the face. He looked at the puppets and waited for them to fall over but that didn't happen.
Rowan felt some chakra returning to his body and he knew that his clones were defeated. He saw a fist coming to his face and he body flickered away from the puppets. He looked at the ten puppets and activated his sharingan.
He looked at the puppets and saw the energy from them seemed brighter than he thought at the beginning. Rowan deactivated his sharingan and took the Kusanagi Sword from it's scabbard.
Now he really is serious.
