Rowan looked at Jayden as she applied some medicine to his wounds. It hurt a lot but he was too tired to scream. Looking at the yellow crystal laying next to him, he couldn't help but wonder how strong a green crystal demon beast was. He couldn't help but flinch when Jayden touched his naked chest.
"Can't you take the goddamn gauntlets off!" Rowan couldn't help but yell. He couldn't understand the guy in front of him. His armour was already worn out but he still refused to take it off. Rowan couldn't understand why he was so concerned by his girly face.
"I already know you have a girly face so there's no reason to keep the armou- AAAHH!" Rowan said but before he could finish his sentence, Jayden applied strength onto his chest which caused him to yell. Rowan looked at Jayden with a wronged expression.
Jayden wrapped some bandage around his chest area before giving him a last Pat on the chest. This caused Rowan to yell again and he glared at her. She walked away from him before silently giggling to herself. She couldn't help teasing him. Especially since they were about to reach the final floor.
Rowan sat in a lotus position and began regaining his chakra. Jayden took the yellow crystal and stored away in her space bag. She took a seat in front of Rowan and kept staring at him. She wanted to carve every piece of him inside of her mind. When she thought about what she is doing, her face turned red.
After a few hours, Rowan felt his chakra levels hit the peak and stopped. He opened his eyes and saw a helmet staring at him. He stretched out his hand and knocked against the helmet while asking, "Is anybody home?"
"Wha-, I wasn't sleeping. I was resting my eyes," Rowan grinned as he looked at Jayden making excuses. "Come on. Let's go finish this dungeon." Rowan stood up and held out his hand. Jayden took it and he pulled her up. She took out her compass and walked to the stairs that would take them to the final floor.
Rowan grabbed the Kusanagi Sword and put it in the scabbard in his back. He followed behind Jayden and together they went to the stairs. The climb felt different from the previous ones but was to be expected.
Upon stepping foot on the final floor, they also saw that it looked like a mountain peak. Rowan looked around in search for the big boss but it was nowhere in sight. Suddenly, a thundering noise was heard coming from the sky above.
The sky was filled to the brim with dark grey clouds. There was a lot of yellow lights flashing between the clouds. Rowan felt that he finally knew what type of bird the final boss is. As if to confirm Rowan's suspicions, a bird whose body was surrounded by thunder appeared.
Each flap of the thunder bird's wings caused the skies to cry out. Rowan couldn't help feeling intimidated by this majestic scene. Unfortunately, he didn't care about that and made shadowclone before throwing it up.
The thunder bird flapped it's wings and dodged the clone but this was exactly what Rowan wanted and then the clone exploded. The thunder bird got caught up in the explosion and Rowan felt that this fight was going to be far easier than he thought.
The thunder bird flapped it's wings towards Rowan and the wind generated by the wings almost knocked him off his feet. Jayden took this chance to sneak underneath the thunder bird. Half Moon Slash. She was going in for a sneak attack.
The thunder bird opened it's mouth and a white flash was seen gushing toward the half moon projectile. It smashed through the projectile and headed straight for Jayden. Rowan appeared next to her and pulled the Kusanagi Sword out of it's scabbard and stabbing it into the ground.
He grabbed Jayden and pushed her to the ground. The white beam went straight towards the sword and entered it. The sword sent the energy from the beam into the ground where it dissipated. 'Nothing gets past physics,' Rowan thought.
It was just like he expected. The white beam had lightning properties in it, so it aimed for the highest point which in this case was the Kusanagi Sword. Rowan didn't know if he could touch the sword but he wasn't going to take any chances and looked at the thunder bird in the sky.
Rowan tried coming up with a strategy against the thunder bird but it proved difficult. Lightning was fast, had power and couldn't be touched. A person would instantly disintegrate if hit by a fully charged bolt of lightning. That and the bird was high up in the sky.
Rowan gathered chakra in his palm and shot it up towards the thunder bird. The bird flapped it's wings a bit harder and the wind smashed the palm away. Rowan knew it wouldn't fall for the clone trick again and he didn't possess any actual far ranged attacks.
The best way was to get it on the ground first was what Rowan was thinking but how were they going to do that. Jayden looked at Rowan as if waiting for his instructions. He sighed on the inside and began flexing his brain muscles.
The thunder bird sent another white beam after seeing that the humans weren't attacking but the sword was like a shield. Rowan's brain was working overtime and then he got an idea. Rocks. He knew that rocks were a weakness to birds since it weighed them down.
He didn't have any rocks but he had other things. Rowan placed his hands together and a multitude of smoke puffs appeared around him. The puffs of smoke disappeared to reveal a bunch of shadowclones staring at the sky. Rowan looked at all the clones around him and couldn't help but smile.
"It's time to put this dungeon adventure to an end. Now tell me, whose up first?" Rowan asked but he got no response. "Fine," he said before grabbing the closest clone.
