SAPPHIRE gave Timothy a big smile when she walked in with his sister in tow. He really didn't understand how they immediately got along, but he didn't mind. Diane was always easygoing and willing to give people chances, and Sapphire... Well, he didn't know what to think about her. But his mind went back to a few minutes ago when he was in the library with her uncle and talking about how she lost her parents and brother. She never acted like anything was bothering her, even now.
"You look so serious," Diane said.
"Really? I didn't know that." He grinned at the two ladies, especially Sapphire. "Just curious about how the whole vampire meeting stuff will go later."
"Oh! I forgot about that for a moment," Diane exclaimed.
Sapphire laughed. "Me, too. I don't want to think about things that aren't fun."
Timothy impulsively drapped his arms over the two ladies shoulders, to their surprise.
"So," he said. "What exactly have you ladies been up to?"
Diane chuckled. "I don't know what's come over you to be so touchy, but I don't mind it."
"Well, I showed her my garden," Sapphire said. "And the garage where all the cars are parked. Too bad my cousins aren't here, they would've showed you other things they have."
"Cars?"
"Yeah. And Tim, they're rich-rich! They have all the cool cars! I even saw the pools!" Diane babbled.
Timothy smiled at his sister's enthusiasm. He liked that. She'd always been interested in the fanciest things, and he knew if they could afford it, she wouldn't hesitate to get them. Sapphire and her fit so well, it seemed. Maybe they should've been mates.
That last thought made him laugh silently.
He suddenly remembered something, arms now down, the ladies interlocking their arms with his. "Did you call Rowen?"
They strolled inside the house, finding themselves at where Sapphire called the patio. It was beautiful and glassy. They found a place to sit as they talked.
Rowen was actually surprised that Diane called him. They hadn't talked since when they first met, and that was it. He didn't know what to say, so he let Diane talk. He was touched that she was worried about him and assured her that he was fine. He was still at the dorms and wouldn't be leaving anytime soon. Nobody, apart from his family had contacted him, so he was good. He wished them luck in talking to the vampires and offered to help in anyway he could if they wanted.
Sapphire teased on how Diane went all mother hen on him and made him assure her multiple times that he was fine and that he would take care of himself. She said if Rowen was here, Diane would've already smoulderd him with a hug or something.
"Never thought you'd act like that with anyone but me," Timothy commented.
Diane frowned. "I was just worried! We haven't seen each other in a while and all this is going on, and, and I wanted to be sure that it was, you know... You're not the only one I can be worried about, you know!"
Timothy and Sapphire burst into laughter at her reaction. It was so unexpected and amusing. Really, why was she so defensive at a simple comment?
Of course, it was all pushed aside when Sapphire said they should go to the kitchen and see what they could eat.
Timothy thought about how he'd eaten something from Master Vanity's office, to the library...this house didn't seem to lack anything, did they?
From the kitchen, they continued exploring the big house, making small talk, with Timothy making sure not to mention anything about his talk with Sapphire's uncle. He didn't know why, but he just didn't feel like he should. It was best that they had a simple day, and face the main reason that they were here, at night.
