Chapter 14 - Chapter 14

THE dining room was beautiful. Timothy had barely ever been in it, but he was now. It was an appropriate place to have their talk. The ambience  was simply just perfect, though to be fair, Sapphire's house was just perfect in its totality. It might be the witch thing.

His thoughts went back to the shocking information she'd given him and he was barely able to react then when his sister suddenly called his cellphone, and he'd had to take Sapphire's earlier suggestion to invite her over.

She looked very much unimpressed by anything and it was definitely his fault.

"Are you going to say anything anytime soon?"

They were sitting on a big table that had more than four chairs, with Diane sitting at the edge and he and Sapphire sitting at each side. They could see each other's expressions very clearly, and one of them did not look very happy.

Timothy found his sister's sharp gaze funny, especially since it wasn't directed at him. Diane was acting uneasy and he'd never seen her act like that before. Or, maybe he never paid that much attention. When she met Rowen she was so comfortable and nice, and friendly though. The situation was different now, he decided.

"Are you a witch?"

Timothy was surprised at the direct question. He'd given her a little info like her being a witch and his soulmate, that they had similar marks and had both met The Oracle. Just to get rid of a bit of his guilt.

"Yeah," Sapphire answered.

"So who exactly are you?" Diane asked, glancing at Timothy briefly after poking the fruits placed in the plate in front of her. "Timothy said somethings but I want to hear it and more from your mouth."

Sapphire felt it wouldn't be proper to offer a guest nothing and decide to just chop some fruits together since there was no more food. So Diane was left with fruits and a glass of water--which she kept looking at with suspicion.

Sapphire sighed. "So I'm going to say this once because I don't have the time to repeat myself over and over again, agreed?"

Diane nodded.

And so, Sapphire said everything she'd told Timothy and also mentioned what was going on, which Timothy was thankful for. Though, it made him feel like...why was he even present? He'd barely said anything, really. And why wasn't he even trying? Was it because the information was just too much? He was quieter than he usually used to be.

He sat silent as Diane in turn, told her everything that she knew; about her uncle's journal and her experiences.

"So your uncle. I'd expect that he'd adopt you two since he knew your parents disappeared."

"He couldn't because he was literally in charge of like training and like war stuffs so..."

"But he couldn't talk; he has a disability."

"He had an assistant. Plus, you don't need to talk to be able to beat someone up."

"True."

"So the Mavericks are bad people," Diane started. "I believe it. Them hurting Timothy is enough evidence of that. I didn't expect Rowen to be a witch...Maybe I'll contact him soon to question him too."

Sapphire leaned closer to Diane to steal a slice of watermelon and pop it in her mouth. Timothy watched the interaction with interest. Diane was letting her guard down.

"So," he spoke, grabbing the attention of the two women as he stood up, "I'm guessing I should go--"

"I haven't said anything to you yet though," Diane said.

"Well, you don't seem to be--"

"Sit down," Diane ordered, making Sapphire giggle at them.

Seeing that her brother was obedient, she smiled. "I didn't know you had a mate. It's just like dad and mom." She sighed. "This hasn't happened in a while. At least, as far as I know. Adding to the fact that you're a hybrid. Your kids are going to be very special!"

Timothy smiled at her happiness. He didn't understand why she was happily talking about kids that he'd never really thought about having. It wasn't even up to two weeks that he's known everything and yet, she's planning his future.

"So the Mavericks are going to kill you if you don't follow their side."

Diane glared at Sapphire, who shrugged. "I'm just saying. I mean, I don't really know much about what they're planning yet, but...Your brother has a lot of work to do. We need help. Even if it's freaking vampires, because it seems like the werewolves over here don't like you. They're trash though, so you don't need to worry about them." She paused. "I don't think it'll be smart to leave town to a whole nother place to get help, we might bump into your sister's people. We can't runaway because you guys just got here. And I don't think we can run since they have witches by their side and can transfer their anger to others. If not us, then innocent people will probably die."

"I've never heard of werewolves attacking humans," Diane muttered.

"They have before. It was bloody and crazy. But it happened less than five times so I guess that's good," Sapphire said. "My uncle told me all these."

"Anyway, I don't trust the Maverick's 'family' bullshit with the witches in their pack and I don't trust them with that book. They're known for starting wars. And you finding help isn't going to be difficult as any pack and coven would love to have you. But you're mine so..." She trailed off, with a smirk on her face.

Timothy looked away from her inviting eyes to his sister's amused ones.

"So, witch or vampire?"

"He's not a witch though."

Sapphire nodded. "I know. But we'll have to meet my relatives for you to meet some reliable people. We can't just invade anywhere unless we want to die. Well, we might die, but Timothy is a super-supernatural so he might accidentally survive."

"Just like last time," Diane said.

"Just like last time," Sapphire agreed.

So they agreed to meet Sapphire's people for help. Diane wanted in on everything as long as it had to do with her brother. She decided that they had to face this one obstacle as even if they ran away, they'd probably be tracked or meet worse people because the necklace, for some reason didn't seem as strong as before. Besides, where would they go?

To Timothy's embarrassment and Sapphire's delight, Diane brought packets of condoms. Of all sizes.

"You may be in your twenties, but getting pregnant at such an age isn't smart. Enjoy your youth," she'd said, like she wasn't just a few years older than them.

Later on, Diane found the time to scold him for leading girls on and to just stick to one person. And promised to castrate him if he tries to hurt the 'sweet and kind' Sapphire. How did that change even happen?

Timothy couldn't even accuse Sapphire of being a witch, because she's one.
