"It's not like I don't want to go on a date!", " then why could you possibly be nervous!", Prisca asked. "You think it's me, damn, I need to check my breath and everything before he calls me again!", Audrey said already hyperventilating.
" Audrey! Audrey! Audrey!", Prisca called to grab Audrey's attention, "calm down!", she said into the phone, worried about Audrey's pattern of breathing.
"It's just a date, alright? And from what you told me, what I can possibly deduce, he doesn't care about all that. So calm down!, Breathe!", Prisca said, calming Audrey.
As Prisca advised, Audrey took deep breaths to calm herself, " there you go sweetie, enjoy your night, and don't forget to tell me how beautiful your night went!", Priaca said before she cut the call.
Earlier, Lucas had called Audrey to tell her that he would be dropping her home late, asking if she was okay with it. He went on with the details to get an affirmation from Audrey, which she nervously gave out.
Freaking out, Audrey had no one else to vent her surprise to except for Prisca. And, like every other time she called, Prisca was willing to listen to her and to remind her to take deep breaths.
Audrey had learned from Prisca that dressing beautifully was key, but as at that moment, she wished she had taken an extra pair. 'Well, it's not like I knew anything about the surprise he planned for us !', Audrey thought in an attempt to console herself.
Ticking the things she had successfully completed on her mental checklist, she was just left with using the bathroom. She had learnt from experience that as a lady, you should learn to ease yourself when you have the chance, because you just don't know when the next opportunity would come.
Audrey left her office after switching off all the electronics which weren't needed, she carried her bag and headed to the ladies restroom.
Coming out of the cubicle she had just used, Audrey went up to the huge mirror before she dropped her bag beside her. She didn't need an invitation to redo her makeup and rearrange her clothes.
Just when she finished with her general touch up, she got a call from Lucas informing her that she was ready.
Looking behind him and thinking that he had lost Emily, "wow!", he said at the beautiful view that laid in front of his eyes. They had been dating for over a month now and he drove her to work everyday, yet he still couldn't believe that she turned out more beautiful each time he saw her.
" Hi babe!", Lucas said helping her with the door like the gentleman he was. Audrey thought he had a thick skin, for calling her all the pet names he could think of, she wondered how he did it, because she was sure she wouldbt be able to handle such in such a short time
"How was work today?", Audrey asked as she wrapped her arms around his neck, wrapping him in her embrace before she entered the car.
"It was fine!", Lucas said thinking of the amazing date he had planned for her, totally forgetting that Emily had somehow gotten to the top floor to disturb his peace.
" Really?", "yeah!", " so what's the surprise?", Audrey asked really curious.
"It's not a surprise if I tell you, is it?", Lucas replied with a question. " Well, it's not, but you can tell me and I promise to act surprised when I see whatever you have planned for us!", Audrey said, Lucas bursting into laughter almost immediately.
"First, I'm still keeping it a surprise and second, the surprise is planned for you by me!", Lucas clarified. " Thank you Lucas!", Audrey said, a big smile plastered on her face.
Time spent with each other was nothing less than satisfactory, it was fun when they had something to talk about, enjoying the other's presence. It was also equally pleasant when that had nothing to do than just hold hands.
For Audrey, it was the fact that despite his tight schedule, he still managed to spend time with her, he didn't really need to spend on her, it was the little things that mattered.
They got there in no time, Audrey surprised by where Lucas was headed. "Lucas, why are you turning at H&H Resorts!?!", Audrey asked to clear the doubt she had.
" That's where we are going babe!", Lucas said relishing the amused expression on his girlfriend's face. "You planned a surprise for me here?", Audrey asked again, looking out the window like she had just seen something shocking.
" But, why is it this empty at this time of the day?", Audrey asked seeing that the sun had just start to set!. "I booked the entire place!", Lucas said casually!
"You mean you reserved the whole place?", " yeah, am I not supposed to do that!?" lycas asked back unsure.
"Aww, I really appreciate your gesture Lucas, but I just find it weird since I'm not used to it!", Audrey said taking off her seatbelt.
Not only did he bring her to one of the most expensive resorts to ever exist, he booked the entire place!,' that must have cost of loads of cash!', Audrey thought.
She was too excited to even wait for Lucas to help her with the door, taking only her phone with her, Audrey opened the door and came out of Lucas's car to breathe in what she regarded as, " the expensive resort air!".
Lucas shook his head at Audrey's antiques, he smiled before opening the door to the driver's seat. It was a nice atmosphere, so Lucas decided to take off his blazer and his tie.
He removed both and put them at the back seat before he approached Audrey who was more interested in the view than him. She turned however to see a breath taking view.
She knew her boyfriend was muscular, but she didn't expect his ridges to be that defined. Lucas walked towards her, unaware that she was busy gawking at him.
His top two buttons were opened revealing his collarbone and part of his chest muscles, the shirt sleeves were rolled up slightly to reveal veins on his arm which disappeared into the sleeve.
His clothes fit snugly, his back straight, and his shoulders broad, all elements of his magnificent strut which messed with her brains.
Audrey looked at Lucas like he was some sort of meal, raking his body in slow motion, her whole face turning pink because of the greek god who approached her.
She turned even flustered when Lucas caught her gawking at his physique. Audrey snapped out of her thoughts and faced the other way, practicing her breathing to school her thoughts.
