Chereads / My Alpha Maid / Chapter 43 - The Mother and Sister

Chapter 43 - The Mother and Sister

ELIZABETH (ELY)

"DID YOU CALL ME, SIR?" I asked the sitting Luigi. We are here now in his new office. I simply looked around the room and saw that Mutya was also there.

As usual, there are four guards in the corner, and Jessa is on their right side.

"You're probably wondering why we moved," Luigi said.

He said it casually, but why am I nervous? I tried not to show him my real reaction.

"Ah, why exactly, father?" I heard Mutya ask. I'm just observing.

"Well, Eva's camp knows where our hideout is," Luigi answered. He alternately looked at Mutya and me. My heart beat faster. I don't like what's happening.

"Huh? How did that happen, father?" Mutya asked. Besides, she looked at me. I looked at her badly because she was doing the same to me.

"Sir, I have nothing to do with that," I defended myself. They were all looking at me suspiciously.

"Hmm, you know, Ely..." Then he stood up. He walked next to his table. "I haven't said anything yet that you had anything to do with it, but based on your reaction, it looks like you're guilty, Ely."

I still denied it. "Sir, I really have nothing to do with that."

"You will still deny this, Ely?" I looked at him confused, but my eyes widened when I saw Jessa's hand waving my phone.

"I... T-that is not mine, sir," I still refused. I will never admit that the phone is mine.

"How dare you! Traitor!" Mutya said.

"Sir, that's not mine," I defended myself. I was also surrounded by Luigi's men.

Luigi looked at me and seemed to check if I was telling the truth or not.

"Lock that traitor in the basement. In the dungeon!" shouted Mutya.

Sneaky, Mutya. Luigi was really prepared for me if I escaped from this situation. I concentrated on Luigi's followers because their master didn't seem to really believe me. I blew the whistle to call my men.

"There's no use, Ely. I killed them all," said Luigi, still looking at me with a poker face.

I cursed at my thoughts. Luigi really knew what he was doing. Damn it!

"Throw her in the dungeon," Luigi ordered his men. Now, his henchmen around me have increased even more.

I fought, but with so many of them, I couldn't do anything. Even though I killed or injured his other men, in the end, I'm still bruised and I still have a lot of wounds on my body.

And here I am, sitting in their dark and smelly prison with a faint light from the outside. I was thinking of a way to escape. I need to escape.

Just when I was thinking like that, the door suddenly opened and someone was thrown inside. I was surprised to meet her, but my surprise was also replaced by a smile.

"So, what do I owe the pleasure of visiting here? So soon, Mutya?" I said, mockingly.

I thought she was going to snark at me or have a word war with me, but I was surprised by what she did.

"Ely, Ely, help me. Help me get Natalia out of here." She was still holding my arms. When I looked into her eyes, I saw that her begging was sincere.

"W-what? Why would I do that? My loyalty is to Luigi. I-i was framed!" I can't just believe her. Maybe Luigi just sent her here to make me confess.

"Ely, please. I know you're not an enemy. Please, Ely. Help me. Luigi can't use Natalia. Help take her away here." What is happening to her? Did Natalia soften the heart of Mutya through her brattiness?

"Wait---" I wiggled myself away from her. She also let go of me and I walked away from her a little. "What are you talking about? You will betray your father for that brat?"

"My father is a devil."

"Well..." He is. I want to add, but it might be a trap. "Did your father send you here to make me confess?" I asked her, doubtfully.

I saw her sitting in the corner.

"I wish it was the case, but it's not the reason why I am here with you now." I heard her release a deep breath.

"I don't trust you," I said.

"The feeling is mutual." Then she chuckled. "But you know what, if we trusted each other before and knew the secret of one another, maybe we wouldn't be in this situation."

"What do you mean?" Mutya speaks metaphorically.

"If I only knew that you were just spying on my father to get information for your sister, I wish I would have told you my plans."

"I am not a spy!"

"Oh, really? Are you still playing that card?"

"I-i..." I couldn't say anything.

"She's my daughter."

"What?" Did I hear right?

"She's my daughter," Mutya repeated. The way she said it, it was as if she had no more strength.

"Who?" I asked.

"Natalia."

I was dumbfounded.

"Are you kidding me?"

"I am not... aah," Mutya whined.

She was holding part of her stomach. I didn't know either, but I immediately approached her and looked at what happened to her stomach. I saw that there was a rather large cut on her stomach. Why didn't I notice it earlier? Ah, because it's dark.

"You're bleeding."

"I know. Duh." If she really is Natalia's mother, I conclude that Natalia's bitchy behavior is inherited from her.

I just shook my head and couldn't stop smiling. Fate is so funny sometimes.

I tore the hem of my t-shirt and wrapped it around Mutya's wound. She didn't complain. She seems to be out of power. She must have also tried to fight against Luigi's henchmen.

"It will heal in time. I think," I heard Mutya say. I sat next to her and leaned against the wall.

"So, is Natalia really your daughter?" I asked.

"Don't we have a resemblance?"

"There is, but I didn't think you were related." The information I gathered about Natalia is lacking. Mutya is also good at hiding her true identity.

"Because you're judgmental," she joked.

"Come on. You are rude," I said.

"That's true," she admitted. "But that's just my front act. You know, I need to be tough in the eyes of my father. I was secretly protecting my family from afar, so that they would not be included in whatever plans my father had, but I failed."

"So, did you know that Natalia is the weapon?"

"No. I only found out when your men kidnapped her. I couldn't do anything then. My father discovered that, as I was planning to take Natalia away, he had found out about my plan. He also knew that Natalia was my daughter. That's her granddaughter, but she says it's better. At least she has a relative with him who will conquer the world and is not a coward like me." Her voice is breaking. She is trying to stop herself from crying. "He will use my daughter for evil. For a long time, I hid from him that I already had a family. I left so they wouldn't be in this situation, but what are the odds that Natalia was Luigi's intended weapon against Eva."

"I'm so sorry to hear that." Mutya is really upset. I understand her and I believe her. "I will help you."

"Really?" I heard her say.

"Yes," I replied. "But I don't know how to contact them anymore."

"I don't have a phone either," she answered. "How about your mate? Contact him or her using telepathy."

It's a good thing it's dark, Mutya won't be able to see that my cheeks are red because of what she asked.

"I-I don't have one. Yet," I answered. I suddenly remembered someone. I am still waiting, patiently waiting.

"I see. Hmm… How about Clef or anyone who has a telepathic connection with you or a telepathic power?"

I tried. "Someone is blocking my thoughts."

"Jessa," answered Mutya. "That bitch is strong. She has the power my sister Carmen has."

"Carmen?" I wondered where I had heard that name. And I remembered that she's Mutya's sister who passed away. The one who was murdered by my sister Eva and Amor."Oh, I'm sorry."

"It's okay. My father used her too. That's why I'm not surprised if he does it to Natalia too. He was able to sacrifice his own daughter, Natalia, who is just his granddaughter."

I can hear the bitterness in Mutya's voice. I became quiet.

"Doesn't anyone know you're alive?" I asked her.

"No. I can't trust anyone. Luigi is more powerful than you know," she answered.

"I guess we'll have to wait for a miracle," was all I could say.

"I guess so. We are too late to trust each other, huh."

I replied, "Wrong move." Luigi's camp is stronger than I thought. "How did you know, you know, that I'm really a spy?"

"Well, captain obvious, except that my father caught you. He was right because your face looks very guilty."

"Am I that really obvious?"

"Yes. At that time. Why did you do it anyway? What is your story, Ely?"

"Well, it's a bit long, Sister Mutya," I teased her.

"It's better for me to listen to your story than to worry about the pain of my wound," she said. "Besides, we can't do anything for now, so we're not in a hurry. As if we can still get out of here."

I laughed at what she said. Of course, there is nothing more we can do in our current situation.

"Okay, then brace yourself." Then I started to tell her my story.

A few months earlier...

"He's back. Luigi is back." I was about to enter the dining room when I heard their conversation. Sister Amor is the one speaking. I decided to listen first from the entrance of the dining room and hid behind the wall.

"Are you sure, Amor?" My father, Adam, asked.

"Yes. We are positive that Luigi is back," my sister Amor answered. "We tried to look for him, but Luigi is so good at hiding."

"We don't know what he's planning yet, but we know Luigi doesn't want peace," said sister Amor again.

"We have to do something," my mother, Luisa, said.

"Aunt Ely, so you're already there."

"You scared me." It's just Carina. Suddenly, she spoke from behind me.

"They've been waiting for you for a while," she said. "Come on, they've been waiting for the roasted turkey," she added, while sniffing the food.

I nodded and smiled at her. Besides, we entered the dining room. The topic of the four people is now different. I don't know why they don't want to talk about Luigi, even to me.

I was simply asking them for information in the past few days, but I noticed that they changed the subject when it seemed that my questions were going to Luigi. So I decided to do my own investigation.

That's when I found out about Luigi's plans, except for his weapon. All I know is that he needs the president's daughter.

"So, I went to where Luigi was and told him I would bring Natalia to him. At first, he didn't trust me. That's why I showed him what I could do. I was very lucky when I learned that Natalia was on Faerie Landia's island. I used that opportunity to get Natalia."

"That's the time when you forced her to get engaged to you. In exchange for July's life. Is that right?" Mutya asked.

"Yes," I replied. "But just so you know, it was not my intention to hurt the both of them. I just needed Luigi to trust me, and you know that doing evil things will really convince Luigi that I am on his side."

"Agreed."

"You know, Natalia is really stubborn."

"I know." I saw Mutya smiling. "She inherited that from me."

"That's what I'm about to say." I laughed. "But she truly loves that wolf girl. I did some research about your daughter and I discovered what a bitch she is. But when it comes to July, and how she sacrificed herself for that wolf girl, she is really deeply in love with her."

"She is. She's the sweetest person in the world if you get to know her." Mutya became nostalgic.

"Anyway, shall I continue?"

"Yes, you can."

"So, I went rogue. It hurts so much to think that I'm betraying my family. They are my life. However, I need to do what I need to do. Do you know what I mean? I need to betray them to unravel Luigi's reason for coming back. Then after that, hopefully, if I'm not caught, I can give more information to my sister Eva."

"Sucks, right."

"Really, it sucks. I'm so stupid for leaving my phone behind." I blamed myself. Yes, it's my fault because I wasn't careful. Maybe I dropped it when we hurriedly left Luigi's first hideout. It is too bad my sister and other friends were not able to catch up with us.

"Don't be so hard on yourself. Jessa is really prickly. I just learned that she's a spy for Luigi in WH. Pretending to be the president's secretary."

I was surprised by what she said. "So, I didn't really drop my phone. Jessa took it because she found out that I must have sent the information to Carina," I said to myself.

"Yes, dear. That's why it's hard to compete with Luigi now. He is smarter now, even his henchman," Mutya stated.

"Damn," I murmured softly. "Do you think we have a chance to defeat them?" I asked Mutya.

"If Natalia's demon will not wake up, I think it's too late, the ritual has just started," Mutya said.

I was also quiet. Luigi's powers will get even stronger when the ritual is over. I just hope Sister Eva can do something to stop this because Mutya and I don't know if we can get out of here alive.

Sister Eva, where are you?
