Lisa heard the birds chirping somewhere in her subconscious, she felt the sunlight warming her face, then she smiled. My God she felt light as a feather. She'd not slept so peacefully in forever.
Wait, she paused in her thoughts. Did I just feel sunlight on my face? She shot out of bed so fast that the other occupant of her room was startled. "Come to think of it, how did I get here?" She thought. "Last thing I remember was leaving the party to the kitchen." Everything after that was a blur. She decided to ask Mrs. Lee what had happened. Mrs. Lee recounted the events as they had been told to her by Lucas.
Lisa was positively horrified. She stood there unmoving probably in a trance. Mrs. Lee walked her back to the bed, so she could have a seat. Lisa wasn't one to cry. Infact she didn't remember the last time she'd she'd a tear. But this was just too much to take in, without a means to let out her emotions.
She started to shed silent tears. Mrs. Lee noticed this and hugged her. She rubbed her back and whispered soothing words to her "It's going to be alright Lisa." Lisa soaked up the comfort, but what she kept thinking was, "Is it ever really going to be alright?"
Lisa had assumed that Lucas was the one who had saved her, because Mrs. Lee had recounted the story exactly as she had heard it no names involved.. Except at the beginning of her narrative, when she said, "Sir Lucas said,...".
As soon as Lisa recovered from her emotional low, and actually started to think things through, she discovered that she was in her pajamas, and not in her uniform. She turned to Mrs. Lee then "Please tell me you're the one who helped me out of my uniform and into these" she said pointing to her pajamas.
Mrs. Lee laughed then and said, "It wasn't me." Lisa was mortified.
Mrs. Lee laughed again, "Carie did" she said smiling. Lisa wanted to hit Mrs. Lee for teasing her, but she was grateful to her for putting her at ease, and offering her a shoulder to cry on when she needed it.
Lisa then thought to ask, "What time is it?" Mrs. Lee said," Past noon my dear, that drug really put you to sleep." It was assumed that Lisa had been sedated. The bosses decided to wait for a few hours for her to wake up so she can be taken to the hospital for a medical exam, to know exactly what drug had been used, and to make sure that the drug had no extreme side effects. And if she didn't wake up soon enough they'd take her unconscious body to the hospital to have the drug flushed out of her system.
Past noon... Lisa couldn't remember the last time she'd slept in. That just didn't happen anymore. "Mrs. Lee" she said, "I'll do my ablutions now and come to the kitchen as soon as I'm done. Thanks for everything." Mrs. Lee smiled and left her to her own devices.
Micheal had left the scene as soon as he gave Lucas a briefing on the entire situation. He was jet lagged, plus, he didn't know who the girl was, and he wanted to get some sleep.
This Friday morning however, he decided that he needed his curiosities satisfied.
He had been wondering who the girl was, and why someone would be carrying her unconscious body through the corridor, further into the house, instead of outside.
It made no sense for it to be a kidnap case.
Micheal had slept in too. He had woken up at about 10:00am. His surprise for his Mom had been ruined, because Lucas had told their parents he was sleeping upstairs after saving the girl. He knew the person to ask when he wanted gossip. It was rather unfortunate that Mrs. Lee wasn't to be found in the kitchen. But he did meet Carie in the kitchen.
Carie was struck dumb. How is it her dream guy just stepped out of nowhere and into Mrs. Lee's kitchen. She'd seen photographs of him around the house, and she'd wanted to meet him, but now she couldn't utter a single word. She just stood there unconsciously ogling him.
Micheal cleared his throat to call her back to reality. Carie was extremely embarrassed. But she still couldn't say a thing. Micheal just asked, "Where is Mrs. Lee?"
Carie finally found her voice. "She's in Miss Lisa's bedroom."
"And where would that be?" Micheal asked.
"Housekeeper's bedroom. Third door to the left on the corridor."
Micheal made his way to Lisa's room. He knocked and was let in by Mrs. Lee. "Good morning Mrs. Lee" he said moving into the room. "Hope you had a restful sleep."
"Good morning Micheal. I had a good night. Well as good a night as you can get while watching over someone."
Micheal then looked towards the bed , and noticed the girl from the night before layed soundly asleep on the bed in the room.
"That's Miss Lisa." Mrs. Lee said. "The housekeeper"
"For how long has she been working here?" He asked
"A few weeks. And in that time she's had quiet a bit to deal with."
"Why don't you tell me about it Mrs Lee?" Micheal asked. Mrs. Lee relishes moments like this. She positively beamed. She took him to a couch in the room where they sat and she began. "We've been having quiet the issue with housekeepers these past few months..."By the time Mrs. Lee was done with her story, Micheal was apprised with most if not all there was to know.
Lucas was worried. That first incident with the amulet hadn't worried him quiet so much, but this... This was too much. Being here at the Wards' mansion seemed to be posing a serious threat to Lisa. He determined to ask Lisa if she'd like to continue working here despite the possible threat to her person.
Lisa knocked on Lucas' door. She wanted to thank him for saving her. Why did he keep doing things like this? She was trying to put an end to her feelings for him.
He opened the door right then, "I was just thinking about coming to you. Come on in."
