After her talk with Lucas, Lisa decided to find out as much about the Wards as possible, since Mr. Norton had essentially given her the day off.To be well informed is to be a step ahead. She called up her best friend, who was she kidding? Her only friend or atleast the only friend of an age similar to hers. She's much too antisocial and paranoid to have more than that. Fortunately, she and her best friend worked together at her fourth job. Although that was the only part time job her friend had. Alicia, Lisa's best friend lived on the richer side of town. She didn't have to work for a living, but worked part time at her family's hotel as a waitress just so she could get accustomed to her family's business. As Lisa walked through Alicia's neighbourhood she noticed not for the first time how very different it looked from hers. The lawns were very large, the driveways very long and well paved. As soon as she got to Alicia's home she pressed the button on the video intercom and was buzzed in. Alicia met her at the door, and gave her a bear hug. Alicia is a very jovial 22 year old. She is tall, slender and very beautiful. She could have been a model if she so wished unlike Lisa who was on the buxom side with a height of approximately 5'6. Alicia looks her over and sighs. "You need a new wardrobe. What in the world are you wearing?" Lisa just rolled her eyes. Whenever she and Alicia met up, Alicia would make a similar comment. "I need your help." Lisa said. Alicia was usually privy to all the gossip involving the rich in society. "A certain Lucas Ward offered me a job today. In housekeeping. The job is unrealistically well paying." Alicia fell silent, and looked at Lisa with a rather peculiar expression. "Did you say a Ward offered you a job in housekeeping?" Lisa nodded hesitantly. Alicia then screamed "Oh my God! Oh my God! Come with me." She pulled Lisa along behind her up a flight of stairs to her bedroom. As soon as they got into her room, she shut the door and pulled Lisa down on her King sized bed. "The Wards are filthy rich. Like old money, multiplied over the years, billions of dollars rich. They are into shipping.Boring, I know but very lucrative. I just recently was privy to their search for a housekeeper. They've been hiring and firing housekeepers alot recently. They've got housekeeping agencies in an uproar. I know the family has two sons. Lucas and Micheal. Lucas is very dreamy, a charmer and is quite the hit with the ladies . Micheal, well nobody knows much about him. Except that he likes to travel. When your family is into shipping you have to travel and make deals. He's always on the move you see. The gossip columns rarely get anything on him except for the occasional fling or spotting him in a new country. Don't get your hopes up though. I advice that you have a back up plan or a means to go back to your old jobs just incase you get fired prematurely like the other housekeepers. Now to you Lisa, You sly little girl. You've been keeping secrets. Spill." Lisa then told Alicia about how she'd initially thought Lucas was a stalker and finally how he offered her the job. Alicia then said, "Things like these don't happen to me, ever. I wish my life had a little more excitement. It seems I'll have to settle for your excitement for now. Please don't forget to update me. No details left out. I want all the juicy tidbits". Lisa laughed and threw a pillow at Alicia. Alicia then said"Forgive my hospitality or the lack there of. what can I offer you, water or perhaps a drink?" Lisa deciding to play along said "water" and then Alicia said "will you like sparkling or tap water?" Then they both burst into fits of laughter. They spent the next two hours engaged in more gossip and playing at puzzles. They loved each other alot. They saw each other as soulmates two pieces of a puzzle that fit so well together pretty much like the yin and yang.
Exactly two hours after her visit, Lisa left Alicia for her next job. This one she didn't consider much of a job because she enjoyed it. She worked part time at the old people's home as a carer. She loved this job because most of the old people knew her and loved her too. She got to see the world each time through a different pair of eyes from the stories they'd tell her about their lives. She wished she could travel around the world someday. The old people told her stories about their youth. Showed her pictures of a time long passed of how very energetic and vibrant they used to be. They always adviced her to shake off some steam, that what she'd remember in her old age or atleast what would matter then will be the fun times, her emotional experiences, and what she was able to do for others. After she completed her shift at the old people's home, she headed for the hotel. The only thing she found to be enjoyable about this job was that she worked with her best friend. To be realistic though it was a very demanding job. Working as a waitress at a five star restaurant was not a piece of cake. More than half the time she has to keep poise, and fake a smile. She usually found herself moving in and out of the kitchen for hours unending, "like a headless chicken" she liked to say. She was always terribly exhausted when she completed her shift at the hotel, and today was no different. She then walked home to her aunt's prepared dinner, but couldn't eat. She had butterflies in her belly, from too much excitement. She attended her online course and went to bed, but sleep was far from coming. She couldn't wrap her head around the fact that she may start to earn ten thousand dollars a week, or why Lucas chose her in the first place. Oh well tomorrow she'd make sure he told her why he saw her as a suitable candidate before the signing of the contract.
