Chapter 1 - Suffer in silence

Chapter Orphanage

Chapter 1 Orpthange

A foggy dark ink cloud spread across the street like a blanket of black smoke, turning a tall building of dusty grey. Yet, on the fourth floor, there were orphans busy cleaning up their bedrooms. Presently, there are 17 girls taken in from the street by Miss Clark, head of the orphanage. The girls all got along well, except for one who was mute and whose name was Sky. She only used sign language with her friend Devin Smith, who always protected Sky, even at the cost of her own well-being. However, in the absence of Devine's presence, the bullying from the rest of her inmates continued, which she could not fathom their unkindness towards her. It was a quiet Saturday morning, and Sky sat in the cove of a stained glass window, brightly emulating the colors of blue and grey rays from the sun.

She loves to read romantic novels while wishing she could find someone with the same inate traits as herself. Her face was filled with delight as she flipped through the pages eagerly. The door was thrown open to reveal Ash, one of the bullies at the orphanage who liked to pick on Sky whenever the opportunity arose, just to make her life even worse. Sky looked at her but didn't pay her any attention, but returned to focussing on her book. Sky inwardly pondered on how different it was for some women to find true love with a man that was deliciously handsome, very intelligent and wise. Suddenly, the book was snatched from my hand by Ash as she smirked with an evil grin, plotting what she would do next.

Ash Ash

"Why are you reading this rubbish? You're ugly. It will never happen to you. No one would ever find a mute woman beautiful. You are in a dream world. I'm not surprised your parents left you here. Maybe they got wind of how much of a hoe you are and decided to put you up for adoption. If you were my daughter, I would have beaten you up and left you to die.

Ash stared at her with a sharp look, which didn't go unnoticed, so Ash started to kick her foot into the sky's ankle, as she heard something crack that made a smile come on Ash's face, which pissed Sky off, not realising her intention to inflict damage, which resulted in the glass window being cracked. She proceeded to punch and kick Sky's body as she now fell with a massive thump to the ground.

Ash looked at her with satisfaction as she took the book, ripping it in half as she left the room. Sky lay there as a cold piece of meat, leaving unwanted ridicule for everyone around her. That made it even worse.

She woke up trying to get up from the painful beat down that Ash had inflicted upon her the day before. Every time she moved, her bruised body throbbed. Just then, the door swag opened to see her friend. She ran over to her, helping her up from the floor, laying down on the bed, unbuttoning her top to see all the bruises that Ash left on her body. That made her really angry that she was going to get her back for this, leaving the room to grab some hot water with a towel for Sky's wounds only to hear Ash was bragging about how she taught Sky a lesson, which she couldn't concentrate on right now. Her friend came first, walking through the bedroom door.

Sky lay on the bed defenseless, making her heart shatter into pieces with hopelessness. She panicked like a fly that was caught in a spider web looking at her. It felt like she became numb with a painful memory on her face every time she got beaten up by them. The designer was annoyed and angry that she couldn't help her at all when the door opened to see

Miss Clack She looked like she was in one of her nottoiose moods again. She slowly walked towards you with a stiff expression that you had to move away from. She looked down, seeing Sky on the bed.

Miss Clark:

What happened to Sky? Miss Smith, who did this to her

Destiny told her everything. She looked like her face was about to explore. Though it was kept by the soft expression she announced to her.

Miss Clark:

At Miss Smith's breakfast table, you can go and get something to eat down stairs. I will look after Sky.

Destiny walked herself out of the room to go down the stairs. Miss Clark's expression changed to an icy nasty look, thinking she had to look after the one person she didn't like.

Sky, the mute orphan that came to us under false pretenses, was only 5 years old. Her family was very horrible to her, bullying her every day.

Not only that, one of them thought it would be fun to kick her in her voice box, which made her go completely silent, which made it difficult for her in many ways. People would bully her, not take her seriously, and even worse, beat her till she was lifeless on the floor. She looked at her, still annoyed, pulling back her face to see all the bruises, which made her smile. Miss Clark,

She was like the rest of them. She hated Sky for being here, but also the fact that it was her fault that she lost so much money in the year she was here.

Miss Clark didn't care about the girls; she only cared about money. She even sold one of the girls for amusement, for which she got jail time for the morning. As planned, she was finally able to get rid of one of them. She thought a family would be coming today to look for a cute girl for their family, which was big news for Miss Clark.

Sky walked up with a worried face as she had seen something scary. Miss Clark spoke.

Miss Clark:

You see, OK, now I'm going down to have breakfast and get a shower. We have guests today.

Sky nodded as she moved, feeling the pain still as she got up, walking out the door downstairs to get something to eat. All the girls lay in line with Sky at the end. She always took her food up the stairs, so no one could do anything to her.

She walked down to the living room to see all the girls lined up in a row. She walked past them to the front of the table to speak.

Miss Clack

Good morning, girls. We will be having some guests today, so I would like to see you all showered and ready for today.

They all looked at Miss Clark with a serious expression that stared back, making them shudder. They answered with a giggling tone.

Girls

Yes, Miss Clark

All of them sat down to eat as Sky took her bowl of porridge upstairs to eat, which she did all the time. She liked the peace and quiet, which gave her a lot to think about.

She was going up the stairs to her room to eat her food when Miss Clarks told her to eat it down here today, which annoyed her the fact she was planning to eat it as she spat it out to get nasty hair in her food. Everyone laughed.

She didn't find it amusing. She gave them all a devilish look that made their faces change to angry, which resulted in her getting beaten after the day went on to suddenly hear the door.

Finally, I got out of this nightmare, thinking one of the girls tried to push her aside, opening the door to see a lovely woman with long sprackled purple hair that shone like the bright sun gelamed of color. She was tall, with black skin and deep-set blue eyes, which made

sky thing pink me Her husband, who looked like he was a very posh man, looked really handsome. He had short brown hair with curly waves. His mustache was all shaved. He had emerald green eyes with a hint of yellow in them.

Both of them looked around the place. They thought it was well kept for an orphanage. The girls lined up to see Miss Clark come in again. They all said good morning to her politely. Sky's only thing to do was sigh, which pissed her off so much that you could see her face scrowl up the young lady as she looked at

.

She looked ragged and thin, like she always didn't eat. Her hair was long and dark black, with bright brown eyes, which she loved. He looked at his seeing who she was looking at. The thin girl At the end, he smiled. It looked like she had already made her decision. Both of them took

She asked Miss Clark to speak with her, and that made her expression bright. She wanted to get rid of her nonetheless. She knew this family would get sick of her and then bring her back so she could live forever. They both sighed at her sight.

Sky Face was about to go down as they stopped in front of her. She looked up, seeing their faces, thinking what was going on. The woman took out her arm and started to sign with her hands. Sky Face smiled. She did the same. They were like each other.

Miss Clark was annoyed with what happened. She didn't know that she was mute. The girls were all pissed at the fact that Sky was getting chosen. The lady took her hand.

Sky's face smiled as she started to walk, feeling pain. The woman looked down, seeing all the bruises. Her expression changed to a horrifying look that only a man would get on his wedding day if he didn't show up. She looked at Miss Clark with a nasty expression and looked at her husband with the same expression. She had asked him to translate for her. He nodded.

She signed in sigh language. He turned to Miss Clark.

Mr. Lawson

My wife said, "What happened to Sky?" And who would do this to an innocent girl? You better tell her now before she gets angry.

Sky's face looked pale. She tried to say who did it in an anxious silence. They looked at her sign when she walked, pointing at every girl in the room. That gave them a shock. They couldn't stand it much longer. They picked Sky up with their arms, leaving her in a

They drove away from Sky, lying on her new mom's lap, closing her eyes, dreaming about her new life. She was looking forward to a bright new future. She dreamed of a new beginning to her future. She lay there asleep as the woman touched her, pulling her hair back as her husband drove, mumbling something in her sleep. She began to feel anxious. She slowly pressed her hands on her head as Sky calmed down. It was a sigh to tell her she was not alone anymore. The car stopped by a very big house. Her husband parked the car and got out of the driver's seat to open the door. He and his wife and new daughter, seeing that she was already asleep, he locked the car with his keys, placing them into his pocket. Grabbing Sky from his wife, they walked to the house to see all their staff waiting to welcome them home. He placed a finger on his lip to say, "Quiet." As they looked at their new daughter sleeping soundly, they smiled at both of them. His wife opened the door to let them in, closing the door behind them. Place Sky One the bed as she rolled on her side, both of them decided to undress her. They were both in shock, seeing all her back bruises covered in colors of red and blue. It made them sick to their stomach that her husband called the doctor. He answered and explained the situation to him.

Doctor

I will be there immediately to try to keep Sky on her side so she doesn't put pressure on her back or anything to cause her pain.

They nodded as he placed the phone down as he undressed her, her shoes, her trousers to see even more brusies. They looked in horror, thinking how could that orphanage treat a little girl like this? Hearing a knock at the door is so inhuman. The door opened to see the doctor come in with a big bag full of medical supplies, looking to see Sky. He was even shocked that they would do this. He gave her somewhere to say the pain, which made Sky's face relax more, which gave her parents a bit more calm. He took out some cream to start healing the wounds all over her boy. Then she spoke to them about her thoughts.

Doctor

Did you know this child had surgery on her thigh? There are sticks where her neck is

The woman placed her hands on her face in shock. Tears fell down her face as her husband comforted her as the doctor continued to clean Sky's body with his clothes. While finishing, he laid her down and placed the bottle on the side of the dresser with the cloth. He looked at them as he packed the other things she took from his bag.

Doctor

Her bruises are serious I will come every week to check on her. Even more serious is her body. She is too thin. She needs a lot more nutrients. She also needs to get some air. Her health is not very good at all. The way they treated her is really bad.

Both of them were annoyed at the fact that they could have gotten a daughter sooner, but it was also the fact that Miss Clark told them to wait much longer. They decided to go back there in the morning to give her a piece of their mind. Her husband walked the doctor to the door as his wife stayed with Sky. She woke up to see her face trying to get up with her body. It was tough that the woman helped her. She looked at her to answer a question.
