People passed by, seeing Sky on the floor, not paying her attention when a voice called out to them in disguise, telling them they should be ashamed of themselves for passing her without caring. All of them didn't care as long as they were not involved. It was fine. Defending themselves from the retribution of the situation. Sky was not even moving an inch. She only heard footsteps going past her.
flisa felt pain going down her side as she rushed towards her granddaughter, shouting with all her might. She tried to wake her, to no avail. There was no response.
Grace had it finally released her husband to see the shock of their daughter Sky laying on the cold stone floor. Both of them. Rushed to her side, and they got someone to call the hospital. No one was interested in getting involved. They were more interested in watching them suffer than helping either of them.
They didn't know what to do until a person tapped on their shoulder. They looked up to see this tanned woman with the luminous green eyes that gave them pause. She told them she would call the hospital immediately, and she took out her phone to dial 911 for an emergency and talked to them as Sky's parents looked bewildered at the fact that they had only gone a few seconds for this to happen. They blamed the environment.
They probably had something against them. They talked to her as Sky's eyes opened. Her head was throbbing like crazy. It was annoying how she could not stand up for herself. It felt like she was back at the orphanage. Her grandma hugged her. She told them it was one girl that bullied her at the orphanage.
They were furious. Even Mr. Lawson thought getting arrested was a trap. Someone had it out for him. He needed to find out who it was. The young woman got off the phone and said that the hospital would be here in an hour. As she looked at Sky, her face looked rather familiar to her, like she had known her before, although she could not put her finger on it.
Shaking her head in disbelief, trying to focus, they told Sky not to move her head or go to sleep because of the bruised wound on the right-hand side of her head that looked like blood, which looked like a volcano that was about to erupt.
They heard the ambulance coming down the road, so they parked right in front of them. They saw two men get out. One was a muscular, tall, frailly skinned man who had short, spiked hair and pretty brown eyes.
The other was like a bodybuilder. He had tanned, dark skin, with long black hair, and beautiful hazel eyes. Both of them were wearing black boots and carrying heavy equipment in their hands.
Mr. Lawson waved them over here, and one of them saw a girl around 10 years old with a massive bruise on her head. They asked them to move so they check could check on her . She felt a touch on her face, her eyes following it. They checked her vitals. It was under age. Both of them turned to them. They spoke with confidence." Are you her parent? I can tell you two things. One, we need to get her to the hospital. Two, her blood pressure is way too low with her frail body.
We might have to keep her under observation. They shock with worry. As they placed her on the stretcher and took her away, they explained to them that one relative could come with her to the hospital.
The men explained she was mute and couldn't speak. They understood. They let her mom and grandmother come with her to the hospital. Mr. Lawson said he would be there soon. He had to take care of something. They lifted the stretcher.
They carried sky into the back of the ambulance. Grace's mother stepped inside with her as the door closed, seeing the ambulance drive away, making him wonder who would set up a trap like this. He picked up his phone, dialing a number. While back in the ambulance, Sky's head felt very heavy, like a train was carrying a load of crates. She woke up blinded by a light, trying to open them in the ambulance but failing. She kept falling into a deep, subconscious dream that she couldn't wake up from.
She felt her mom's hands on hers, talking to her, only to hear her weeping and crying at her side. She felt very lost in the ambulance drive to the front of the hospital. They immediately got out and started carrying her out. They asked for help as nurses and doctors came out to help them carry her to the hospital door.
Grace and her mother followed them, not knowing that the woman who helped them was following them. From behind, the doctors placed Sky into one of the empty clean rooms. They were worried about having to sit by her side, trying to wake her up by talking to her. She was feeling like a lot had happened to her. She was just an innocent girl. Why would they try to harm her? Something didn't add up. Grace played in her mind, just like her husband.
It was like a metal wire wheel repeating the same situation that was at the orphanage. Grace felt that Miss Clarkson had something to do with this. She thought about seeing how Ash's father knew where their house was, then came uninvited to start off things with Sky. Grace's mind was full of questions yet to be answered. Even though they knew it was going to be a next week that she would start school, they knew it would be the most difficult for her.
Sky was in a new school with no one to call on. She snapped out of her thoughts as she heard her daughter waking up. She smiled in relief to see that she was alright. Hearing her breath softly was a thing of joy to be held. Grace rushed over, holding her hand. Sky looked at her with a smile. Sky leaned up to hear beeping noises, looking at the side of her to find a hospital bed with her mom beside her with a machine , rubbing her head in confusion.
Her mother explained what had happened to her. Sky was shocked that the situation was actually worse thanks to Ash. Sky expounded it was Ash's fault for the bruise on her head. Her mother's face was angry, wanting to get back at the people who hurt her daughter. She had to pay Miss Clarkson a visit. She thought this time she was going to have that orphanage shut down competitively. Even though the girls would suffer.
The door opened to see Grace's mother come in to see that Sky was awake. She explained that there was someone here to see her, although she didn't know who it was. Grace opened the door wide to see the young lady from the accident. She was smiling. She sat down and looked at both of them. "You are wondering why I am here, of all things." My name is Artemis. I'm Sky's older sister. My uncle separated us. He said Sky had too much of a loudmouth, so he booked an appointment for her to have her voice box removed to become mute, just like our mother. He couldn't take Sky anymore for disobeying him , so he beat her. "You were only about 7." Artemis was cleared her voice to continue
" Sky, the massive bruising on your head her mom couldn't take it anymore that she couldn't take it no more, so she gave you up for adoption to your uncle." That was really a piece of work when you were about 8. You really felt a sense of danger and wanted to know everything about why your uncle gave you that surgery. When you came back, you were not the same anymore. You lost your sunny side. You even smiled." She cried as she spoke," You kept more to yourself."
"Your eyes darkened." You didn't trust anymore, even though he had enough that he sent you to that horrible orphanage. I tried to go there, but every time I went there, they would make up something to tell me you were ill or doing something. I knew they were lying and thought they had their teeth. I had an idea in that orphanage that the girls beat you. They were laughing and finding it funny. They hurt you. It made me really sick to my stomach. "
Grace's face was full of tears hearing this, as was her grandmother's. Sky's face started crying, knowing that she had a sister in this world. Her body felt raging. She knew that those evil people wanted to keep them apart, which made her body rage. Artemis told them that her mother even had a company that her uncle tried to shut down, but thanks to a friend, it kept on running for her.
He took it for himself, though he thought it was Sky's mom that gave it to her daughter. Our mom was a great dress designer, one of the best. Which scared some people that wanted to take her down against her will.
. The doctor came to see everyone and walked over with an unhappy face to Sky. She spoke.
"Sky" We have to do a blood transfusion on your blood. It's very rare. It's a possibility. Your wound will take a lot of time to heal, so we have to put a brace on your back to keep your posture up so that your back can heal properly. Although you may walk again, we can't fix your wound on your neck so you can speak again. The operation that your uncle did has given your thoughts too much complication to do it. We need someone with the same blood type as you, so we can do the blood transfusion. " Her sister walked up to them, telling them she had the same blood type as her.
They walked out of the room, leaving her mom, grandmother, and sky, processing with their thoughts on what they just heard. She suddenly heard her grandma's phone go. She picked it up to hear Mr. Lawson on the other side in a serious tone. They spoke in a serious conversation. Felisa went out for a second to leave grace with her daughter. She looked at Scarface was like an emotional wreak when everything new came at her at once today. She sighed and said, "Mom, I'm happy that I have a sister now." I always thought I would be the orphan that had no siblings. I will make him pay for what he has done to me. "
Pointing at her throat, which made Grace feel a little uneasy. She didn't know everything about her daughter and what she could be capable of. The door opened, and she saw her mom with an upset face.
She spoke with a sad tone, "That was Mr. Lawson." He said he didn't think Sky meeting the girl was an accident or her father in your apartment. He thought someone set it up to trap Sky to send her back to the orphanage so someone could bullied her again.
Grace felt sick to her stomach. She knew there was someone after her sweet girl. This world is very cruel, and she wasn't having it. She had to make sure that they had a bodyguard around her 24-7, so no one could harm her.
