Chapter 135 - Chapter 133 - Burn

Despite being the one leading this rescue team, I was less inclined to stay and explain to the prince what Abby was doing on the island, so as soon as we reached a cave, Clarke and Roan went inside while I remained outside, not wanting to interrupt our own princes from making peace with the Azgeda.

Even though I stayed outside, I still could hear their conversation, and hard was Clarke trying to persuade the prince, ready to interfere in case the prince gets a little too physical for Clarke's safety. Just as Clarke was explaining how the Nightblood might save the grounders, a green dot stood briefly on me before it went inside the cave, most likely towards the prince.

"Miller, Sergey, Byrne, who in the seven hells came to kill the prince?"

"Ah, about that…it's Riley, but Bellamy and Echo went after him, don't worry, just try to keep him from shooting the King."

Before I could even leave the entrance, Bellamy alongside Echo walked out of the woods, dragging an unconscious Riley behind them. Both of them looked genuinely surprised to see me standing outside, however before Bellamy could speak, the spy that stood beside him grabbed her knife ready to defend herself if need be. Seeing what she was about to do make me roll my eyes at her before I walked beside Bellamy.

"I take, he was about to kill the prince?"

"Yeah, thankfully we got to him before he could do it, otherwise…we would have been at war once again. Clarke's still inside?"

"She's persuading the prince. Hopefully, once they leave the cave, we would be once again on good terms, after all, I'd rather not kill even more people than I already do."

Echo stiffen as soon as she heard those words, but before she or Bellamy and I could say anything, Clarke alongside Roan walked out of the cave.

As soon as both of them were out in the open, Bellamy looks over at Clarke, trying to figure out if everything was alright or if we are going to fight.

"I take it everything is alright and that we're not at war?"

"We are not at war, but I'd not say that everything is alright."

"It's about the ship, right Clarke?"

Clarke looks at me, then over to Bellamy before she let out a sigh. "If we can't crack the Nightblood, we'll give half of the Arkadia to Azgeda."

Right as she finished her answer, a loud explosion made everything stop as if time itself stopped. The three of us look at each other in horror before we start looking for what could have exploded when I saw smoke drifting into the air from somewhere nearby, way too nearby for my liking if I was honest. It didn't take long at all for Bellamy and Clarke to notice the smoke and as soon as they did, Clarke whispered out in a horrified voice.

"It came from Arkadia."

Something must have happened, something big enough for the whole ship to explode and with it the only chance for the grounders to survive the Praimfaya. Despite being dumbfounded by what we just saw and heard, I grabbed both of my friends and run towards the ambush, before Byrne kills the grounders. Roan and Echo quickly followed us and as soon as we arrive back where both of our armies were facing each other, Roan yelled out to his people, making everyone, me included surprised to hear his words.

"Azgeda, camp here for now. Free their chancellor. Echo, you're with me, we're following Clarke back to her camp."

"Yes, my king."

One of the guards quickly loosens Kane's chains, and he shakes them off before the ex-chancellor runs over to all of us, panic was written all over his face.

"What was that? What happened?"

"We don't know, but Leon's trying to contact Arkadia."

"Arkadia, come in. Arkadia, do you copy? What the fuck is going on there?"

For ten seconds the only thing that we heard was the sound of pure chaos, people screaming and crying echoing all over the radio. Luckily for us, a few seconds later, a man grabbed the station and yelled in a hurry before storming off in the distance.

"Everything's is on fire! Alpha Station is on fire!"

There was no need for a vote since everyone thought the same thing and before the situation could get worse than it already was, I decided to take over the role of commander.

"Right now our people need us more than do the grounders! Everyone is back to the rover and trucks, now! Arkadia is on fire!"

"We will follow on horseback."

Clarke nodded at Roan before she alongside everyone else got on our vehicles, leaving the Azgeda army behind.

As soon as all of us reached Arkadia, everyone effectively jumped out of their vehicles and went to help wherever they could. Meanwhile, Clarke and Bellamy as well as the rest of our friends rushed after me as we made it deeper into the chaos. All around us people were screaming and crying, looking for loved ones lost during the explosion, searching for someone to give them medical aid.

"I need to find my sister."

"She was in medbay Bellamy."

"Leon, you Bellamy, and Clarke should go after Octavia, the rest of us would try to help as much as we can around here."

"Thanks, Miller. "

"Don't mention it."

Since Miller and the rest of our friends went to help the injured, we run towards the entrance, hoping to any sign of Octavia. A few minutes later, we saw her exiting from one of the few places that weren't in flames. She was being cared for by Niylah together with a grounder.

"There!"

When he heard me and saw her, Bellamy forget everything and run towards her yelling her name over and over.

"O! O!"

When he reaches her, he scoops her off her feet and turns and carries her away from the growing flames. Meanwhile, I grabbed Niylah and lead her away, while Clarke helped an unknown grounder as the four of us followed Bellamy back to safety.

"It's okay, O, it's me."

She wraps her hand around her brother, before founding the strength to whisper to him.

"It was Ilian. I tried to stop him."

She turns the best she can to look at the grounder, no, at Ilian, who was smiling at the destruction he caused. Octavia coughs hard, trying to clear the smoke from her lungs, as Bellamy was gently caressing her back.

"You're okay now, O. Don't say anything, just breathe and calm yourself."

She nods, burrowing closer to her brother just as Clarke runs over to me just as a series of smaller explosions detonated all over the ship, making everything we had done to transform the place into a shelter a waste of effort.
