Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 - Delinquents and privileged kids

A couple of minutes passed and no one even bothered to come back into the dropship, not even my friend. Well, guess who's going to get a piece of my mind when I'm getting out of this seat?

Just as I was about to yell for someone to help me, I saw our new star walking back into the ship. When she saw me strapped in my seat, her eyes opened wide, probably being shocked to see me still here waiting patiently. She quickly come to my side and looked at me curiously.

"Octavia Blake, the first girl to walk on Earth after the end of the world. What do I own the pleasure of having you here?" (L)

Octavia giggled at my remark before she took a closer look at my straps.

"Why are you still here?" (O)

"Our Chancellor thought that I'm too dangerous to get the same treatment like the rest of you. Perks of being famous, I guess." (L)

She quickly unblocked one of the straps before she went to find where to unlock the rest of them.

"So who are you anyway? I would have remembered such a hot guy up there." (O)

"Leon Kennedy, the guy who spent two years in solitary containment for putting twenty guards in the infirmary after they floated my father."(L)

"A story that I would love to hear, after all, there aren't too many people who have the guts to fight back." (O)

Just as Octavia was about to unlock the last belt, her brother burst through the opened door, looking worried, most likely fearing that he had lost his baby sister. When he saw her unlocking my belts, his face changed in a second. Bellamy raised his pistol and aimed at me.

"O, get away from him!" (B)

She was surprised at her to see her brother, but she didn't step away when he warned her, instead, Octavia stood in front of me, that's just lovely, this girl may have just marked me as a potential adventure.

"No, Bellamy, I won't get away. He's still strapped to the seat! You know how many years I was forced to hide under the floor, right? Then why don't you let me help him?"(O)

"Because he's dangerous! O, that guy almost killed twenty guards for god's sake. Imagine what he'll do to us if he gets angry, we can't afford to let him lose."(B)

"We can and I'll do it! Shoot me if you want, but I'm getting him out of here one way or another."(O)

Seeing that the situation could escalate into a full-on fight between siblings, I decided to stop this pointless fight, after all, I can get out of this seat myself now that most of the belts were opened.

"Octavia, thank you for trying to help, but please, listen to your brother, he's kind of right about me. I'll manage to get off myself, you don't need to worry your pretty head with my struggle."(L)

She reluctantly walked beside her brother, and just when her brother saw her right next to him did he lower his gun. Though, he still glared at me as if I was going to eat his sister.

"O, can you go outside, please? I want to talk with him alone."(B)

She glared at him, before storming out of the dropship, most likely going to complain to someone about how her brother was abusing his power.

"Now, what do you want from me? I don't believe you made your sister mad just to shoot me in the head." (L)

"I want you to stay away from her. Do you think you can do that?"(B)

"Believe me, Bellamy, she will come to find me, regardless of what you do or say. Neither one of us can stop her, and I think you know that as well, after all, she's your sister." (L)

"Just stay away from her. I don't want to kill you."(B)

"No promises, but I'll try. We have a deal?" (L)

"We have a deal. Now let me help you."(B)

After Bellamy freed me, I gave him a nod before leaving through the dropship hatch. As soon as put my foot on Earth, I felt free for the first time in months, but as always the good things won't last long. The kids were loud as hell, yelling, cheering, or doing stupid stuff which will only attract whatever creatures are lurking out there.

Even down here, I still need to be vigilant against all kinds of threats. Picking a piece of metal that had fallen from the drop ship, I began to think of a way to make a spear so, like any sane person, I went to the nearest tree and climb it until I found a branch big enough to be used as the wooden part of a spear.

While I was busy making myself a weapon to defend myself, I got distracted thanks to a nearby commotion. Looking at the source I found Bellamy and his group of loyal followers arguing with Jaha Jr. And if that wasn't worst enough, the whole incident had caught everyone's attention, as the rest of the delinquents were crowding around them as well.

"We're on the ground. That not good enough for you?"

Bellamy asked the son of the Chancellor, Wells, as he walked right in front of Mini Jaha and his blonde girl friend that was following behind him. From what I can deduct, Bellamy was most likely trying to impose himself as the leader, cute, but not enough right now.

"We need to find Mount Weather. You heard my father's message, finding that bunker has to be our first priority."

Wells didn't back down, and it looked as if the two of them were going to fight. Unfortunately for him, one quick look around the drop zone, made me see that the rest of the delinquents weren't going to listen to Jaha Jr. Even more so when he seemed to have learned to speak from his father, their speech patterns being nearly identical which was exactly why these kids will rather kill him than follow his orders.

Even now, Wells didn't seem to realize that we weren't on the Ark any longer. We are on the ground, on Earth, and down here, we don't need Jaha to survive, nor can he help us. We will have to trust each if we want to live.

Just as the two of them almost faced each other, an angry voice rose from the crowd of delinquents.

"Screw your father and his rules!"

Octavia spoke, looking defiantly at Wells, and I've got to say, Octavia seemed to belong here, where she was free rather than on the Ark, where our lives were controlled and monitored by the council. Not only here, but almost all of us also belong here, at least compared to how our lives were up there.

The only ones that didn't seem to belong to our description of criminals were Wells and the blonde girl standing next to him, who looked chummy enough to be friends or at least acquaintances. Most likely, the girl was from Alpha as well and even the daughter of one of the councilors. But the way she glare at him, makes me believe that not everything was good between them.

"What, just because your father runs the Ark, you think you're in charge here? You and your little princess? Guess what? You aren't!"(O)

"Do you think we care who's in charge? We need to get to Mount Weather. Not because the Chancellor said so, but because the longer we wait, the hungrier we'll get and the harder it'll be. How long do you think we'll last without those supplies? We're looking at a 20-mile trip, okay? So if we want to get there before dark, we need to leave right now." (C)

The blonde girl from Alpha looked angry at the crow, especially at the Blake siblings. Probably because she knows she isn't going to sleep in a cozy bed. Poor girl, she clearly underestimates how stubborn, we can be when forced to do something we don't want. Not all of us had our lives handed to us on a silver platter.

"I've got a better idea."(B)

Bellamy tore his eyes away from Octavia before he looked at the blonde girl dead in the eyes: "You two go find it for us. Let the privileged do the hard work for a change. Then we can talk about how's in charge."

As soon as spoke these words, almost all of the kids cheered, showing their encouragement for Bellamy's idea. Seeing the face the two of them made, almost made me smile, after all, it's not a common thing to see the kids from Alpha doing something for a change.
