"You what?" Xavier interjected with anger laced in his underlying tone as his brows drew together. "Or shall I show you a replay of how it happened?"
"No. Your Grace. I do not mean anything bad. However, I am sure…"
"You would take her side over mine?"
"That is not it. I do not believe she would do such a thing, Your Grace. Please look into this matter thoroughly."
"Now you call me, your king a liar?"
Xander's eyes darted in their sockets. His brain tried to make sense of what was going on as quickly as he could.
He needed to find a way for Xavier to not believe Sky was going to kill him.
At the very least, she left the Pendragon House for a very long time.
There was no way she would yield to their request or wish to infiltrate the Aisle.
While all of these played on in his head, Xavier kept his eyes locked on him, observing him.
