"Axel Miller!" Hannah yelled and her wrist flew to his neck. "Are you tired of living?"
Axel could feel the cold and sharp metal pressing on his neck. To think that she had a hidden blade in her watch.
Cool assassin stuff.
"What if I am, huh? What will you do? Kill me?"
Hannah's gaze wavered as she weighed Axel's words. He made it sound like she was some cold, heartless killer. She didn't want to be perceived as that, at least not by Axel. He was the only one who did not look at her like she was some murderer and she didn't want that to change.
Noticing the changes in her expression, Axel's voice softened and he spoke, "Take off your shirt so I can treat your wound".
Hannah withdrew her blade from Axel's neck and with fluid movements, she ran the blade smoothly down her sleeve and the sleeve was torn open, exposing her wet skin and wound to Axel.
Axel was impressed by her smart move. He really didn't think of that at all.
Lowering his head, he opened the first aid kit he brought along with him and began treating her wound. He removed the torn bandage that must have come off when Luke manhandled her and cleaned her wound.
While he was cleaning her wound, Axel noticed that Hannah didn't flinch even once. She was still as a pole and had her eyes closed and he was beginning to think that she was immune to pain. Perhaps she was suffering from CIP.
He pressed on the wound intentionally but Hannah didn't react so he pressed harder till he heard her hiss in pain. So she could feel pain. "Does it hurt?"
Hannah opened her eyes and gave him a look as if asking, 'What do you think?' before closing her eyes and turning her head in another direction.
"Sorry". Axel apologized sincerely but in Hannah's ears, he didn't sound sincere at all!
Several minutes later, Axel wrapped the bandage around her injured arm and spoke, "All done". Hannah finally opened her eyes and looked at the cut on her hand that was now wrapped cleanly with a snow-white bandage.
"Thank you".
Axel noticed that her face was now expressionless as usual, and she was now trying to magically sew back her torn sleeve with her fingers while completely ignoring him. He thought that he would be able to watch her angry face for a while longer….
"Why did Luke call you?"
Hannah's fingers paused in their movements and her head shot up to look at Axel and once again, Axel saw that she was angry once more. Turns out, he gets to see her angry again.
Hannah was reminded of Luke's face and her expression soured. "That bastard, I should have killed him when I had the chance!"
Axel noticed that something was wrong with Hannah's expression. No doubt, she was angry but it was not the anger he wanted to see.
Unlike before where he enjoyed it, right now, she looked like she was really going to kill someone… That maddening look in her eyes was frightening … If he had not arrived at that time, Luke would surely be dead by now.
"So much anger in one person… I'm pretty sure it's bad for your health".
As if Hannah didn't hear his words or just wanted to ignore him, she glared at him accordingly, "You are his nephew aren't you? Both of you are exactly alike".
Axel was taken aback by her words, more than that, he was angry. "He is my uncle but we are nothing alike." He pinched the bridge of his nose, wondering why he was even explaining to her. Given how angry she was, Axel knew that she would not listen to him. "Just tell me what happened between you two".
Hannah sighed and began telling what happened between them. She didn't forget to tell Axel about their little fight in front of the cafeteria and her broken water bottle.
When she finished speaking, Axel was staring at her without saying a word. To be more precise, he was completely speechless. What Luke did was infuriating, no doubt, however…
"Is that enough reason to want to end his life?" Axel was stunned by her twisted reasoning.
"He broke my bottle yesterday and today, he was forcing me to apologize. Isn't that more than enough reason to end his life?"
"No, that's more than enough reason to send you to an asylum. You need help!"
Feeling insulted, Hannah spat, "He is your uncle, that's why you are taking his side!"
Axel sighed but didn't respond. The relationship that he and Luke shared, was far from an uncle-nephew relationship. The only thing they shared was their last name.
"That's also the reason you made him the general manager of your company, am I wrong…" Hannah, still angry, kept rambling on until she felt the temperature in the room drop by a few degrees. She looked up and saw Axel calmly staring down at her. He didn't look angry in the least so why did she feel threatened a second back?
"Luke is my uncle and I am his nephew, other than that, there is no relationship between us".
This time, Hannah nodded obediently and hung her head with her eyes on Axel's shoe. Axel smiled seeing her nodding obediently and could not resist the urge to pat her wet hair.
"Next time, before you jump to conclusions, ask me first, okay?" Hannah nodded again, making Axel's smile broaden. "Now back to what I was saying. Next time, don't think of killing someone just because you are angry with them, alright?"
"What am I supposed to do then?" Hannah's head shot up and she was back to being angry. "I can't just stand and watch while someone like Luke is around me!" Hannah huffed.
Axel thought for a while, "Next time, just walk away".
"I won't walk away. Next time, I will sever his limbs!" That maddening look was back in her eyes again and Axel's eyes narrowed. She looked like she was going to harm Luke no matter what. Even if she has to burn the world down for that to happen, she would do it as long as Luke was affected the most!
What he didn't know was that Hannah was prideful. She would do anything except say sorry. She didn't want to apologize to anyone, after all, she did nothing wrong to them, but Luke, he forced her to apologize, and not just once, he did it twice. Not to mention, he even tried to trap her. Hannah wasn't just going to 'walk away' when something like that happens. She was going to stab every inch of his body and spill his blood, till she was sure that there was no blood left in him to be spilled!
Just then, Axel removed the white thing suddenly and water came raining down on Hannah. "Why did you do that?! She shrieked but Axel only shrugged.
"You were angry and looked like you were about to blow up. There was literally smoke coming out of your ears and nose, so I had to quench the flame before it spreads". Axel stopped talking and smiled at Hannah as though he was expecting her to praise him for a job well done.
