YEARS LATER…

ANNETTE'S POV
Sometimes, I really hated that alarm clock. It had this screaming sound effect I installed on it to force me awake especially when I was being cranky to awaken from a pretty good sleep only that this time, it scared the hell out of me and I had sat up on the bed breathing heavily from the nightmare that gave me goosebumps.
I had the strangest dream about crazy things and I was frankly glad to know none of it was real.
I slipped out of the duvet and headed for the bathroom, bathed, took a piss, headed for the stairs, ended up in the kitchen, did some minor cleaning and then made some pancakes.
It occurred to me my baby girl wasn't down yet and so I went up to her room and left knocks on it till she answered.
"It's morning, get dressed, breakfast is ready," I told her from outside the door.
