Chapter 11 - CHAPTER 11: YOU'LL TALK, I'LL LISTEN

CHAPTER 11:

"Hudson, take the wheel." Yuvan gave his driver the order. Hudson got into the car and drove off.

They arrived at the Famous... It was a top club. Yuvan walked in and took a seat alone. He just didn't raise any attention because if he wanted to be on the centre of attention here, he needed just few words to make things happen. After all, he had the money and power to do so.

Opposite him, a girl with a shimmering waterfall of black hair sat with her back facing him. Her back was at him, so he didn't see her face. This particular girl kept gulping down a glass of alcohol after the other. She roughly hit the glass on the table angrily and cursed. She then stood up and staggered, almost falling.

I've seen this girl before! Yuvan stood up and immediately held out his hand to hold her before her head hit the table. This girl was none other than Nova Johnson who came to drink her sorrows out hoping morning would come soon so she would go and be with her mother. Yuvan dragged her to his side not intending anything. In fact, he was rough. He was just being human enough to help a girl he had danced with for the first time in his life.

He immediately paid for the VIP rooms and helped her upstairs. Nova wasn't just quiet, she was crying sobbing softly with her head on his shoulder. Yuvan looked at her and froze. This girl wasn't just beautiful, she was outstanding and extraordinarily white. Her set of milky white teeth shone when she opened her mouth and tried to say something. Her long lashes flickered now and then.

Her long elegant fingers laid on his chest. Yuvan froze for a moment before sighing and dragging her into the room.

"Stop seducing me. Am a gentleman!" Yuvan threw her into the soft bed almost roughly. Nova turned and tossed before falling off bed.

"You!" Yuvan picked her up and helped her stand up straight. Nova opened her eyes feeling the pain at the bad of her head that had hit the floor.

"Get off me!" she at first didn't recognise this person. How could she allow an unknown person to touch her? Yuvan took his hands off her and let her fall down on her butt when she lost balance.

"Urgh!" Nova groaned in pain and she rolled me to the ground. "Help me up please?"

"Can you be more specific? Should I help you or let you be?" Yuvan held out his hand and snorted. He wasn't accustomed to dealing with ladies so this was consuming enough of his patience. Nova rolled to the edge of the bed and used her remaining strength and pulled herself up trembling.

"What would you do if you were me?" Nova retorted at Yuvan while she tried hard to support herself.

"Of course I wouldn't be stupid enough to drink this much. You're a lady, would you pay more respect to yourself?" Yuvan frowned. The last time they met, she was really reserved. Why was she this reckless today?

"Respect my foot!" Nova pulled the pillow and threw it at his face. The impact of letting the edge of the bed go while picking up the pillow and throwing it at him made her loose her balance and fall backwards. Yuvan reacted faster and came over to hold her.

But the falling momentum caused a reaction in her stomach. The next moment, a warm liquid slid down Yuvan's chest. He frowned. She had actually vomited at him.

"You!" Yuvan carried her to the bathroom and threw her roughly into the bathtub.

Nova let out a slight groan as she let herself drown into the bathtub. Yuvan didn't care at first, he directed the shower at her and let the water spray on her. Nova intentionally overstayed in the bathtub with her face buried in the water. It took Yuvan a long while before he reacted.

"Bloody hell!" Yuvan dipped his hand into the tub and dragged her face up. Nova didn't open her eyes. "You want to drown yourself?"

After the question, she opened her eyes and looked up at the man. "I've met you before?"

Yuvan stared at her without a word. He didn't know what was happening. Didn't he just intent to help this girl? After all, she made her first free day enjoyable at the club. He wished he couldn't have thought of helping her in the first place.

"You don't want to talk? Tell me, what's wrong with you?" Yuvan asked.

"Edge closer!" Nova looked up at him. Yuvan frowned but lower his face. Their faces were so close that he felt uncomfortable but he still stayed to listen.

Nova's tongue ran down his earlobe and Yuvan froze. His feet suddenly became waxy and his eyes lost focus for a moment. He slowly knelt down.

"Why do you care so much about me?" Nova's eyes showed she was about to cry.

"I don't!" He pushed her hand away from him and suddenly stood up.

"I knew it!" the tears suddenly slid from her eyes and streamed down her pale cheeks. She suddenly stood up roughly splashing the water in his face. She didn't even notice the dress clinging on her and show her details.

"I know nobody cares except for my sick mama. Only she and my talent won't disappoint!" she stormed out of the bathroom spraying water everywhere she went. "I lost two years telling myself I was in love, but it turned out it was all a lie! I had my hope in finding consolation in the family, but I was wrong. Even a fucking stranger doesn't care!"

"So, how am I supposed to know all that when am not a prophet?"Yuvan said while leaning back.

Suddenly, Nova rolled her big eyes as if she suddenly saw a ghost. "Ranvier family heir? God! How did I not see that in the first place? Am sorry for bothering you!." She slid to the ground and broke down. Who will listen to her if the person close to her was now a rich guy from a rich family who didn't have time for petty women?

"Am free today so you can tell me your problems." Yuvan sat on the coach and crossed his legs.

"And what would you do you now?" she asked biting her lower lip.

"What do you want me to do? I'll just listen that's all." Yuvan said with a plain face. Nova didn't know what to do. "You don't want to talk right?"

"No... Not at all. At least seeing you brightens my mood. Am sorry though for putting you into all this. You know, my family wants me to marry someone I don't like..."
