CHAPTER 14: NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE
"Sir... We are sorry..."
The doctor came out but before he could finish his statement, Yuvan raised his hand.
"Sorry for yourself doctor!" to be clear, he was afraid of bad news. Although he didn't share anything with this lady, there must be a reason why they met at such awkward angles.
"Sorry we can't save her!" the doctor didn't understand Yuvan, so he went ahead and gave his report.
Yuvan's eyes suddenly shone dangerously and he glared daggers at the doctor. He didn't move, but for some reason, the doctor and Leo felt suffocated by the freezing area around him which seemed to have extended the diameter.
Every metallic thing around them seemed to be affected by an unknown magnetic field. His whole body was emitting a strange aura.
"Boss!" Leo coughed hard.
Yuvan slowly relaxed and looked at the trembling doctor again. "Did you say? Is she still breathing?"
Before the doctor could answer, Yuvan stormed into the emergency room. He saw she was supported by a breathing machine and the monitor was still showing but at a lower rate.
"Sir, she has done blood donation an hour ago, and unfortunately, she had lost a lot of blood. She needs urgent blood transfusion. We don't even know if she'll wait because we're already losing her!" one of the doctors explained.
As if hell was responding, the monitor suddenly stopped, the oxygen machine made different sound before resuming to its slow pumps.
Everything seemed to be in a rush as the doctors reacted, but to Yuvan, everything seemed to be in a slow motion, dangerously slow that he couldn't even hear the sounds. Until one doctor pulled the sheets over her face and looked up at Yuvan.
"Sorry sir, we lost her!"
Yuvan yanked his hand so hard and made a hole in the wall. His punch was so strong that the whole room trembled.
He grabbed the defibrillator and looked at the doctor.
"Switch it on!" he gave the order to the doctors who were trembling.
"Sir!" the doctor didn't know how to react.
"I said switch it on!" Yuvan glared at him, letting the pressure push him to the furthest end of fear. The doctor immediately switched it on.
Yuvan, used some force and pressed the defibrillator on Nova's chest. At first, there was no reaction.
He did that, increasing the force each time until she drew in a deep breath. He didn't stop there until she rolled her hand at the side of the bed.
"Enough! We found her blood type in the blood bank!" the doctor said connecting the syringe.
They checked her heart beat severally until the blood package was halfway through her body and her breathing stabilised and she fell into a coma.
Considering that she didn't sleep well yesterday, plus she was tired after the blood donation, her body couldn't hold on for long.
Yuvan sighed when he saw her being pushed into the VIP ward. He followed and sat beside the bed with his hand intertwined with hers.
His whole body was cold and he lessened up the air in the room knowing he was sitting with someone who was on the verge of death and she needed enough comfort to survive on this earth.
He felt her cold hand against his own cold hand. His expression remained cold and unchanging.
The doctor said she had internal bleeding and has also injured her main artery at the thigh. Fine, as long she can breath, better.
For some reason, he just cared about this particular girl. He didn't know why, but maybe she made his day memorable at the club, maybe because they always met or maybe because she was dramatic last night?
He just felt that her safety was now his responsibility.
"And your stupidity too!" Yuvan said almost loudly with a frown on his face. How could she dare risk her life saving his? Or whatever? How? Was she really that tired of living?
The whole remaining hours of the evening passed with Yuvan just seated by the bed, unmoving like a sculpture. He just didn't know what to do at that moment.
Nova's phone rung several times and the caller was her mother. He just didn't have any authority to pick it up, and as a gentleman he didn't pick up.
The sun disappeared and darkness creeped in. Leo was about to speak when Nova moved a hand. Yuvan became 101% alert and leaned towards her.
"Am I in heaven?" Nova opened her eyes and said amidst pain. Then she saw the man next to the bed, "Am probably in hell just by seeing you here!"
Yuvan frowned but didn't act rude. "So how is hell? According to your perception?"
"Would you want to go over?" Nova closed her eyes slowly.
"To fight satan? Yes. So now tell me, is your life that boring?" Yuvan asked sounding serious. Nova sighed loudly.
"Partly yes, but partly no. You know, meeting you is a disaster on its own." Nova snorted with her eyes closed.
How could it not be a disaster? The first time they met at the club, a series of events between her, Hain and Ronald followed. Then yesterday, though it was her carelessness and her body reaction, she almost drowned in the tub. Today morning she actually did drown, her mother was exposed to the sun and her allergy started. She had to do a blood donation. Following her anger, she had almost lost her life and here she was.
How could she not frown?
