Chapter 2 - Prologue

It was like every other day in the mystical world, besides the fact that the wolves and vampires had were in the middle of a power struggle and during this war all other nations and tribes were caught up in it. It shouldn't have been normal but the war had been on for years now and was sort of normal to us now. Many people had forgotten what it was like prior to their clash. The war was triggered by the wolves who clearly knew they overpowered and outnumbered the vampires and as a result actually stood a chance at winning against the vampires who were more relatively peaceful and not exactly violent. Every nation, tribe, creature suffered as a result of the war. Most nations were in support of the vampires as they were our only shot at a peaceful life again, however for fear of the wolves no one dared to voice out their support, their cowardice shown brighter when the vampires went round seeking assistance and everyone turned away. My people, the fairies were the only ones to accept this challenging task. It was a well known fact that fairies were one of the strongest when it came to magic, stronger than witches even, the only ones who were perhaps on par to them were the sirens, but even they had a weakness they were stronger in water and this is were fairies had an advantage, different fairies could control various elements, most fairies could master up to two elements.

However, they still weren't a match for the wolves who were extremely skilled at combat and fairly good magic users. It took the sacrifice of one woman to be able to push the wolves back and delay the war for a few years, my mother who had died before my very eyes and created the opening and advantage we needed to survive.

We know the wolves are out there planning and training for their next move, but they are not the only ones, after my Mother's sacrifice all other nations joined hands and heads planning for the future. The elders of all other nations thought it best to establish a school in which they would train the younger generation in a forms of defense and attack. This institution which was located at the heart of Vaelda was known as Vine academy.
