Seeing the dark silhouette behind the crystal wall, I pursed my lips before turning to Anakitty and Raul
"What are the chances of us avoiding a fight with the Goliath?"
Anakitty scoffed at me, her black ears rustling as she said "Almost none. Why, you scared?"
I sighed, before jumping into the wide open room.
Hearing the Geb and Loki Familia drop down with me, I started making my way forwards, watching in interest as the silhouette started moving slowly towards us.
With a loud crash a hand broke through the wall, sending shards of crystal flying towards us.
Moving in from of me, the Geb Familia raised their large shields as they weathered the crystal storm.
Another loud crash could be heard as the Goliath's other hand shattered the remaining portion of the wall, before slowly stepping out onto the cave floor.
I took a deep breath, suppressing the wide grin that threatened to break onto my face.
Standing at around 20 feet, the Goliath looked like a muscular human male, except lacking the defining organ between its legs.
As it had been defeated countless times, the Guild had managed to get all the adventurers accounts of the Monster Rex, listing its strengths and weakness', as well as what it is capable of.
Due to its size, the Goliath was capable of simply swatting unprepared adventurers to the side, splattering them against the rocky walls. Additionally, it had the ability to use it's roars as a weapon, focusing the reverberations on a single point.
However, it was a slow monster, making its attack easy to prepare for. Additionally, while it was resistant to magic, it was still made of flesh and blood. As such, a thrust of a spear would still do it harm.
Readying my spear, I watched as the Goliath tilted its head back, roaring.
Feeling my whole skeleton shake due to the roar, I finally grinned, unable to hold back my excitement.
Dashing forwards, I flew towards the Goliath, watching as it slowly looked down at me.
Its black hair fell over its ash gray skin, covering its eyes.
Raising a muscular arm, it swung its fist towards me.
Moving to the side, I avoided its smashing fist, before lancing my spear into the center of its left foot.
Roaring in pain, it tried to slam its fist down on me again, only to cry out in pain when a rain of arrows pierced its arm.
Withdrawing my spear, I dashed around the back of the Goliath, slashing at the Achilles Tendon.
However, my spear only scored a shallow scratch on its rock like skin, sending a jolt down my arms.
Grunting, I rolled to the side as the Goliath took a step back, looking towards me.
Racing between it's legs, I jumped over its foot before lancing my spear into its heel, backing away as it roared in pain again.
"Are you trying to solo this!? Crazy bitch..."
Hearing Anakitty growling beside me, I watched as she jumped high, landing on the Goliaths shoulder before stabbing her blade into its throat.
However, before she could pierce its neck, the Goliath roared again before shaking, sending her flying to the side.
Looking towards her rolling figure, the Goliath opened its mouth, air swirling inside its maw.
I jumped up, mimicking Anakitty, before stabbing my spear into its eye.
I felt my spear dig deep into the soft, jelly like flesh of it's right eye, I quickly withdrew my spear before jumping off the Goliath, hitting the ground with a thud.
Rolling, I groaned slightly as I felt a bruise forming on my shoulder blade, before quickly getting up.
I watched as the Goliath grabbed its right eye, black ichor flowing freely from the wound. It stumbled backwards a few steps, before looking towards me with its remains eye, glowing with hatred.
Taking a deep breath, the Goliath roared as it charged at me, the ground shaking with each step.
It covered ground quickly, forcing me to make a choice fast.
I met it's charge head on, sliding under the swipe it sent my way.
Swinging my spear, I scored another gash on its leg, before rolling to the side as it sent another swipe my way.
Roaring, I saw it clasp its fists together before slamming the ground near me, sending me flying backwards.
Impacting the rocky wall, I groaned in pain as I felt something crash in my side. My vision flickered, and I could hear nothing except a ringing in my ears.
Shaking my head, I looked up to see the Goliath trying to make its way past the Geb Familia, only to be met with a hail of arrows from the Loki Familia.
Stumbling to my feet, I scooped up my spear before making my way back to the Goliath.
Drawing in a deep breath of the caves musty air, I started chanting.
"[I plead thee, Warriors of Elysium;"
Setting into a run, I felt my strength swell, a result of my new skill, Bloody Laurel.
Readying my spear, I continued my chant.
"Lend this Spirit of Unclean Blood thy Ichor], Warriors Ichor!"
I felt a rush of energy in my body, and I felt lighter and stronger.
Everything felt clearer, and as I rushed towards the Goliath I grinned, wanting to fight more.
Jumping, I drove my spear into its chest, my grin widening as it pierced cleanly through, showering me slightly in black ichor.
Pulling the spear out, I rolled between its legs, slashing at the back of its knee.
I watched as my spear cut through the tendon and muscles like I was facing a goblin, and with a roar the Goliath dropped to its other knee.
Laughing, I jumped again, stabbing my spear straight into its throat.
I listened as the Goliath gurgled on its own ichor, before withdrawing my spear and stabbing it in the throat again.
Twisting the spear, I dropped to the ground and walked in front of the Goliath, watching in amusement as it clawed at its throat, attempting to stem the flow of ichor.
Chuckling, I felt my grin split my features as I pierced the Goliaths brow, watching as the large Monster Rex dissipated into dust.
With a loud clang, a core the size of my head dropped to the floor, before the room went silent.
After the Goliath died, I felt a large rush of strength again, before it passed in a few seconds.
Turning, I looked at the other members of the Expedition, all looking at me with a mixture of awe and fear, while the Loki Familia had begrudging respect in their eyes.
Taking a deep breath, I winced as I felt a sharp pain in my side. Gently prodding my left side, I winced again when I felt a large bruise already forming, and I could tell I had cracked a rib or two.
I moved towards a member of the Miach Familia, asking "Have a potion?"
Nodding their head quickly, the young girl offered a small vial of red liquid to me.
Smiling at her, I uncorked the top before downing the potion, grimacing at the extremely bitter taste.
Handing the vial back to her, I took in another deep breath, smiling as I didn't feel the sharp pain again.
I looked around, before making my way towards Anakitty.
"So, we ready? To go down to Rivira, I mean."
She looked at me, her lips pursed as she narrowed her eyes.
"What did you do? You slammed into the wall, before getting up with a red glow around you. Then a few seconds later it was mixed with a golden light."
Smiling down at her, I raised a brow as I said "And why should I tell you anything, hmm?"
She snarled before moving away, making her way towards Raul.
"Alright everyone! Let's go down to Rivira!"
All the members of the expedition nodded, before moving towards the large hole in the wall where the Goliath had come from.
Scooping the Goliaths core up, I moved back towards the Miach member who had given me the potion.
Looking down at her, I asked "Do you mind holding onto this for me, cutie?"
She blushed, nodding. Quickly opening her backpack, she placed the core inside before slinging it back on. Before she could move away, I grabbed her wrist.
Looking up at me, I chuckled as I asked "Well, we're going to be on this Expedition for a bit. Why not get to... know one another, hmm?"
Her blush deepened, before she muttered "My... My name is Sigrid Miach..."
I looked her over, my smile widening slightly.
She stood up to my chest, and was quite thin. Her long, dirty blonde hair was pulled into a braid, and her eyes were a deep green.
"Well, Miss Sigrid, my name is Nikoletta Bia. A pleasure to make the acquaintance of a pretty girl like yourself..."
She shuffled side to side, her gaze flittering up to me. Chuckling, I nodded my head towards the slide leading to Rivira.
"Well, ladies first~"
I watched as she rushed to the slide, quickly making her way down. Looking around, I waited for the remaining members to drop down, before I grinned widely.
Most likely we would rest down in Rivira, before making our way deeper into the Dungeon. Since we now didn't have to worry about the Goliath, we would take a long rest in Rivira before gathering all the resources from the lower Middle Floors.
I licked my lips, looking forwards to teasing the shy Sigrid. Since I hadn't done anything with Astrid, I was a little pent up, and with the toughest part out of the way, I could afford a little relaxation. Of course, that all depended on how willing she was...

Like I said, until Nikoletta meets the character I have in mind, she will be quite open. She is having fun, no strings attached. So, if that bothers you...
Anyways, let me know what you thought about the Goliat fight. Was it good? Anything I could improve on?
Welp, other than that, thanks for 40K Views and 220 Collections! I hope you keep enjoying!
