Chapter 5 - Warm Up on Floor 10

Waking up, I felt a weight on my chest. Looking down, I saw Gia using my breasts as pillows.

Smiling, I wrapped my arms around her, enjoying the warmth she provided.

For awhile I laid there, enjoying the feeling of Gia in my arms, before she gradually woke up.

I smiled down at her, and she looked at me, before leaning up to kiss me. Deepening the kiss, I enjoyed her taste before pulling away.

"Did you want to go another round?"

Seeing my smirk, she pursed her lips before shaking her head.

"Nikoleta... thank the gods I don't have to work today..."

Hearing her voice, my smirk deepened.

"Well, I thoroughly enjoyed last night, but..."

Rolling her eyes, she said "I know, I know. You're going into the dungeon today. We've been through this dance before."

I chuckled, before getting up. Looking down at Gia, she sighed before saying "Go without me. I can't really feel my legs."

Nodding, I grabbed a towel and threw it around myself, before taking my clothes and making my way to the small bath Garden Red had on each floor.

Sending her a smile, I left the room, going to wash off the various fluids from last night.

As I made my way towards the bath, I saw the familiar figure of Inaya, and when she saw me she frowned.

"Listen, you gotta stop doing that."

"Doing what?"

She sighed, before shooing me away. Shrugging, I made my way into the bath, quickly rinsing myself off before dressing.

I exited the Garden Red, feeling refreshed. Making my way towards the exit of the Pleasure District, I could still hear some moans, however I tuned them out.

As I exited the home of the Ishtar Familia, I took a deep breath, before making my way towards my house. I was going to bathe and grab my gear before making my way into the dungeon, making my way towards the beginning of the Middle Floors.

The deepest I have ever been was Rivira on the 18th floor. Going further was extremely dangerous, and even reaching Rivira was a Herculean task in and of itself. I have only been twice, and each time was fraught with peril.

However, thinking about the danger in those particular runs, I smiled. The fighting was tough, but extremely rewarding. The amount of money I made, as well as the improvements, was incredible.

Entering my house, I made my way towards my room, quickly throwing on my armor.

My only gauntlet went on my left arm, and after clasping on the chest piece and shin guards, I grabbed my spear and pouches.

"Did you have fun last night, Agapi~?"

Turning slightly, I chuckled.

"Yes, Mitera. I had a lot of fun..."

Chuckling, Bia ruffled my hair, before saying "I did too. Our oh so mysterious benefactor visited, telling me that our problem has been solved. So, when you go to the Guild, hold your head high, Agapi. You deserve it."

I smiled at that, before nodding. Placing my spear on my back, I said goodbye to Bia and made my way towards Babel, ignoring the usual stares and whispers.

I really hoped that I would start earning the correct amounts, as my armor desperately needed to be replaced. If I had enough, maybe even splurge and upgrade it...

Making my way onto the first floor, I took in the light blue walls and smiled when I heard the disgusting sound of flesh tearing.

Walking forwards, I watched as three goblins stumbled out of the wall with a wet 'pop'.

Seeing the short, plump green monsters, I grabbed my spear. Seeing me, they made high pitched 'Keke' noises before wobbling towards me.

Shaking my head, I just swung my spear out, slitting each goblins throat. Since it was an instant kill, they poofed into dust instead of bleeding.

Seeing the three small crystals drop to the floor, I scooped them up before making my way deeper into the dungeon.

Like always, I thought the dungeon was alive. Many of the civilians and low level adventurers thought we were crazy when we suggested it, but honestly, with the way it rearranges itself, can accurately spit the monsters out, and can even retaliate against people who hunt to many monsters on a specific floor, I refuse to believe that it isn't either alive or being controlled.

After all, the first few monsters it threw against me were so easily dispatched, that after that it stopped sending monsters after me, instead testing me at the beginning of each floor.

I found the first 9 floors to be easy, as I had a large level advantage on these monsters. However, the 10th floor is where that changes.

Orcs, Imps, and Bad Bats started spawning here, and only one floor lower were larger monsters like Hard Armored, as well as the rarer Infant Dragon and Silverbacks.

Floor 10 is where I truly started my warm up.

Orcs were plentiful, providing large targets.

Imps and Bad Bats were small, agile monsters that used their size to their advantage, hiding in the shadows before barraging their enemies.

This combination of the larger, more straight forward Orcs and the smaller, clever Imps and Bats helped narrow my concentration and get my blood flowing.

Looking over the large mist covered plains, with scattered trees and rocks breaking up the rolling landscape, I smiled.

This was my second home.

The time spent hunting here, honing my skills, was much more than any other floor in the dungeon.

Walking down the cliff towards the plains, I took a deep breath, enjoying the faint scent of decay that was masked by the earthy smell. I could hear the growls of the Orcs, as well as the sounds of fighting in the distance.

Roaming the floor, I eventually heard the familiar wet pop of the dungeon summoning monsters. Readying my spear, I watched as three Orcs rose from the ground.

Seeing the large pigheaded monsters glaring at me, I smirked, waiting for them to approach. I could kill them quickly, however I wanted more to spawn, so I held myself back.

Lumbering towards me, they balled their fists. One swung at me, and after swaying out of its way, I lanced my spear into its shoulder, twisting the blade before pulling it out.

Hearing their companions cry of pain, the other two rushed forwards, swinging at me from either side.

Dodging towards them, I turned as their fists hit the dirt, and I slashed out, scoring a deep gash in the back of their thighs. They roared, and one fell as it turned, however the other lashed out, its fist yet again slamming into the dirt.

Chuckling, I stabbed forwards, deep into the throat of the one that collapsed. Seeing it burst into dust, I looked towards the other, swaying to the side as its fist flew past me.

I sent the butt of my spear into its head, hearing a satisfying crunch as it stumbled backwards.

Looking around, I saw the first Orc pull a thin tree out of the ground, holding it in one hand. Lumbering towards me, I swung the tree at me like a sword, and I jumped above it. Stumbling forward, its beady eyes widened in surprise when it found my spear lodged in its head, piercing its brain.

Dissipating into dust, I turned towards the last one, which was holding its head in pain, blood flowing from a small gash on its brow.

I sighed, hoping that since they didn't die in the first three seconds the dungeon would send me more Orcs.

Piercing the last Orcs heart, I retrieved my three crystals, before continuing to walk around, praying for some more monsters.

Minutes passed, and I was about to go down to the next floor when I heard a large amount of wet pops, and when I turned I pursed my lips.

Almost a dozen Needle Rabbits and three Orcs rose from the ground, looking towards me.

Needle Rabbits were what you expected; just a large rabbit with a needle like horn on its head. They were fast, but not as fast as Bad Bats.

However, seeing the veritable feast of crystals in front of me, I sighed before readying my spear.

While not ideal, they could help me warm up none the less.

As the rabbits jumped towards me, I stabbed my spear forwards a few times, killing four instantly. One swayed out of the way, earning a gash on its side, before jumping back towards me. Swaying, I was about to finish it off when the remainder flew towards me as well, and I could feel the Orcs lumbering towards me.

I smiled, feeling my blood start to pump a little faster.

Rolling out of the way, I watched as the rabbits landed on the ground, and I stabbed another one, bringing the remainder down to seven.

The Orcs were still a dozen or so feet away, so I dashed forwards, using short thrusts and slashes to dispatch a few more.

Hearing the whine of three rabbits before poofing into dust, I dodged backwards, avoiding a fist.

Looking over, I saw another Orc wind up its fist to punch towards me, but I lanced m spear into its chest, killing it.

The remaining two Orcs squealed in rage, before rushing over to me.

A rabbit lunged at me from behind, and after I swayed to the side it met an Orcs fist, turning to dust. Smirking, I stabbed the Orc in the neck while it was confused, bringing the remaining enemies to one Orc and three Needle Rabbits.

The rabbits growled at me before lunging at me all at once.

Sweeping my spear out, I killed all three at the same time, before looking towards the Orc. Seeing it charging at me, I sighed before placing my spear in front of me, allowing it to impale itself.

Rolling my shoulders, I went about collecting my crystals before looking around. Seeing a lack of enemies, I shrugged before continuing my patrol of the floor, waiting for a few more monsters to show up.
