JO'S POV.
We were all talking when all of a sudden Gianna doubled over in pain. At first I thought it was nothing serious, till Gracie said those six words.
"Jo, Gianna is on her heat".
Then I knew right then that Gianna was in for a night of unbearable pain. Even wolves who were having problems in their relationship at first always came together during the heat. Why on earth did this have to happen when Vladimir was away.
I was relieved that Shawn had some amount of control if not it would have been bad, seeing as he was a very strong wolf with an alpha gene and could have overpowered Henry or John. It would have been a tough fight. I knew we had to get Gianna away from there and we needed to do that fast.
I wondered how she was able to hold out, because I knew that the pain from heat was the worst pain ever. At least that was what I was told seeing as I haven't gone through it. I hoped I wouldn't.
Gracie had gone to get a strong incense that might be able to overpower Gianna's scent which was one less problem on our hands. I tried my best to help ease the heat, I started dabbing at her forehead with a cold napkin when she started sweating again. I knew that once the moon reaches its peak it would only get worse.
I tried to get her to have hope and told her that Vladimir would come soon, but I doubted he would make it, and when Cora came and told us that they were not able to get through to Vladimir I just lost hope. So I asked her to call the doctor and my parents even though I knew that the doctor couldn't do anything. I just felt safer with her here.
When my dad got here he was able to stop the unmated wolves, he had the power to get their wolves to submit. Shawn had since left the house, that was for the best. My mum was trying to get Gianna to calm down by saying sweet nothings in her ear I thought that was helping.
"Couldn't you like give her one of those drugs that would knock her out or reduce the pain". Cora asked the doctor worriedly.
"I'm sorry I can't, they wouldn't work. Her system can't accept any drugs right now. You see the bond is trying to force them together whether they want it or not. And her pain is worse because the bond has been starved from the lack of contact between both of them. So we just have to wait till she is completely drained of energy and passes out, that's the only way. And seeing as she has alpha blood it would take a while for her to completely lose her strength". I couldn't take it anymore, at this point she was screaming.
I couldn't just watch her be in pain like this. And it was all because of my pig headed brother, he went to the meeting a day earlier because he was an asshole who couldn't even apologize to his mate when he had wronged her, and we were trying to contact him, but he wasn't answering, and we couldn't mind link him because he was far away. Once a person is out of the Pack premises the Pack mind link wouldn't work. Only a mate's mind link could go that far.
I left the bathroom were everyone was and went inside her room, I couldn't stand her in pain. I was about leaving the room to go for a run when a phone rang. I saw the phone on the nightstand. It was Gianna's phone and looking at the name of the person calling I saw it was her mum. I quickly picked the call.
"Hi, I'm Jo, Vladimir's sister". I said, I knew she wanted to ask me what I was doing with her daughter's phone but didn't want to sound rude.
"Hi, Jo. I'm Kristen, Gianna's mum. Please could you give the phone to Gianna, I really need to talk to her". She said, sounding worried.
I didn't know how exactly to tell her that her daughter was writhing in pain in the bathroom because her stupid mate wasn't here.
"m- m, Luna Kristen its really nice to meet you even though it's on the phone, but I'm sorry, Gianna can't speak to you right now". I said
"Why can't she", she said in panic.
"I'm really sorry mam bu- ". Gianna's scream from the bathroom cut me off answering her mother's question.
"What's wrong with my baby, tell me" she was full on panicking right now but you could hear the command in her voice.
"She's on her heat right now and Vladimir isn't here". She immediately bit back a sob.
"I knew it; my baby wasn't fine" I could tell that she was trying her best not to cry right now.
"I'm coming there immediately, tell my baby to hang on, mummy's coming". She said before cutting the call.
Vladimir was going to be in a lot of trouble when he gets back, not only from me but from her parents and brother.
