Chapter 25 - CHAPTER TWENTY- FOUR...

The past few weeks have been weird. In a good way.

Ever since the day of my heat Vladimir and I had truly started slowly becoming friends. He no longer avoids me and I him, and we talk.

I have to admit at first it was extremely weird. Seeing as we used to be hostile towards each other. Well mostly him. The first few weeks were awkward. We didn't know what to say to each other. We started with small talks and trying to get to know each other, which by the way might I add again was awkward.

Although things were weird, I was happy. At least we were making attempts to become friends and who knows maybe something may come out of it.

Jo entered my room fully dressed. I could see she was ready to go to the other pack house to sort out work. She has been showing me what I was supposed to do as the Luna of the pack. I had gotten closer to the pack members and they all seemed great. Well except you know who. Lydia. Yes, she was still bitchy and tries her absolute best to get on my nerves but I do what I do best ignore her as if she wasn't even around or talking to me. Works like magic every time.

Most of the pack members warmed up to me after seeing my interactions with Vladimir. It was a wonderful feeling to feel like I am one of the pack.

"So, mum is organizing a picnic are you up for it," Jo said sitting comfortably on my bed.

"yeah totally, I love picnics. But you don't seem happy about it. Do you hate picnics"

"No I don't, I just don't like the fact that two unwanted people would be tagging along". Ooh, now I get it. Shawn and his mother would be coming along.

"I mean mum shouldn't have invited them. I get that she wants to reunite the family but Shawn and his mother seem to not want to be part of us anymore and it's just upsetting having them there".

I understood what she meant. Shawn and Vladimir couldn't stand to be in the same room and the same goes for Jo. But I also understood Mary, no mother wants to see her family divided.

"just forget about them and just focus on having a good time okay" she nods and visibly cheers up.

"alright just give me some minutes to get dressed and we'd be on our way".

It was the day of the picnic and we were loading everything we needed for the picnic and everyone was here and happy. It didn't matter that Shawn and his mother were tagging along.

Vladimir was also looking happy and smiling which made me all giddy inside.

"alright everyone, I hope we have everything we need for today. Also hope no one is forgetting anything" Jo said while closing the boot of her car.

"so how are we riding? Of course, V and Gigi are going together in his car" she said giving me a sly smile. I shook my head and turned to Vladimir who was already looking at me. We smiled at each other.

"Mum and dad you can come with me, Gracie and Henry along with Cora and John will ride together", she paused before looking at Shawn and his mum. "you two can find your way there".

"of course, we will. Come on mother let's go" Shawn said guiding his mother to his car.

"alright people let's get moving, and also no detours straight to the picnic ground"

I walked towards Vladimir's car, and like the gentleman that he is, he opened the door for me.

"Thanks," I said putting on my seat belt. We were still not yet completely comfortable with each other but it was no longer awkward. He entered and put on his seat belt before starting the car.

On our way to the picnic ground we drove in a comfortable silence there was no need to talk. We just listened to the music playing on the radio.

When we got there I decided to ask him a question.

"How do you feel about Shawn and his mother tagging along". He didn't answer for some time so I guessed he was thinking of an answer.

"I'm just going along with it to make my mum happy. Seeing us all together having fun is something she wants and I've done a lot to make her sad, so if doing this is going to make her happy then I am willing to give it a shot".

I smiled at him. He loved his mother.

"I'm sure she is very happy" he smiled back at me and we continued walking to catch up with others.

The picnic was a success. We all had so much fun and at that moment you couldn't tell that there was a divide. I wished for us to be always happy but little did I know that bad times were soon to come. I guess if had known I would have enjoyed this time we had together more.
