Chereads / Pexy Sharacter / Chapter 22 - 22

Chapter 22 - 22

I've seen some pretty weird things happen in my job. It's called getting by. Trust me when I say that you look more attractive than her right now," Pexy pointed out smugly. The taller man rolled his eyes. "Just tell me what you want. I'm kinda busy right now," he said, pointing toward the counter. The other man laughed. "If it was that easy, I wouldn't be asking."

"Look, all I wanted was some company. I didn't even ask if you were married," the man insisted, leaning forward slightly. Pexy scowled, looking up at the ceiling for a second.

"That's bullshit," he replied. The man blinked.

"Excuse me?"

"There's something going on between us, alright. Something I haven't had in years," he responded matter-of-factly. "And I won't lie, I've never been much of a relationship guy. If you think my wife has a chance, then you're crazy. But you've gotta admit that this is something worth considering," he added quietly, looking the other man in the eye. The other man paused for a second, taking a sip of his beer before responding.

"Alright, I'll give you one night. What am I supposed to do?" he asked, leaning forward slightly.

"Well...do whatever you want. Just let me know when you figure it out. No strings attached. No expectations. Don't bring anyone back. It's my turn to pay tonight," Pexy explained slowly, pulling out his wallet. He slid it across the table towards the other man. He frowned, grabbing it.

"But I'm offering to pay first," he insisted. Pexy stood up, pushing himself away from the booth. He moved towards the back door, opening it and walking out. The man followed him outside.

"We'll call it even," Pexy stated, putting his hands in his pockets. The shorter man frowned slightly before nodding. They exchanged a handshake and then parted ways.

As Pexy walked through the streets of San Diego, he thought. He hadn't had sex with anyone since...well, it was hard to remember when he was so lonely. He'd dated a couple of girls in college and in high school, but none of them lasted too long. All he cared about was making money and being able to survive. He'd never really liked women, unless they were interested in getting laid. Which, honestly, seemed unlikely. At least he had his friends, though. That's what mattered.

Pexy stopped at a bench and sat down. His phone buzzed in his pocket. He pulled it out.

[Shrimp]: I'm going to need an address and a name. I have no idea who the hell you are

Pexy grinned to himself before typing out a response.

[Spyke]: Oh, you will soon enough ;) You'll understand when you meet me ;) Have fun at work

[Shrimp]: I have a bad feeling about this

Pexy laughed silently. He put his phone away before taking another deep breath of his cigarette. He closed his eyes, trying to relax. It always worked when he did this. He needed this right now. Suddenly he heard a small noise above him. He opened his eyes, turning to look up. His stomach dropped. He knew that sound anywhere. He stood up slowly, turning around to see nothing but open sky. There was no possible way.

"Hello? Is someone there?" he shouted. He jumped when he saw a figure appear above him, their face covered by a hood.

"Oh thank God," Pexy breathed. He looked back up at them. "You aren't real. I-I need to go home..." Pexy turned around, ready to start heading back when the figure grabbed him harshly by the arm.

"Come home with me!" the person screamed, tugging him along. He struggled against them, throwing punches and kicking out his legs. He was suddenly hoisted off the ground. The person lifted him up and slammed him onto the hood of a car, holding him up against its side.

Pexy gasped for air, tears forming in the corner of his eyes. Before he could even yell, the hood was pushed back off of his head. Pexy's eyes widened at the sight before him. Standing in front of him was none other than Mr. Fucking Perfection himself, Jackass.

"Mr. Perfection…" Pexy croaked out, coughing violently. Jackass grabbed one of his hands and twisted it painfully. "Ouch! Please! Stop!" he cried out, his vision swimming slightly. Jackass pressed a hand against his chest, pressing down until his fingers dug under his skin and he fell backwards onto the roof of the car.

Pexy lay where he was for a brief moment before rolling over onto his stomach. He sat there, struggling to catch his breath. After catching his breath, he picked up his cigarette and took a drag, allowing his eyes to fall shut. He exhaled loudly, the smoke filling his lungs. When the smoke cleared he looked up at the sun.

"Damn…so close…" he muttered to himself.
