"You don't want to leave me?." He asked.
"Mm..I..I just want to take care of you. I..mean you feel lonely at times." She explained.
"Hmm.." he lowered his gaze to the floor.
"Let me do this one thing for you please. You've done a lot for me already." She looked at him with those adorable eyes.
"I don't think you should do that Jenna."
"I insist please. Let me take care of you for a month and after that I'll leave." She halted.
"I just want to make you happy for once. You seem moody and angry almost all the time Arnold. Just please let me do this. At least till you get a girlfriend or a wife." She looked at him then turned her face away.
"I'll show you how to have fun." She smiled.
"Mm..well okay then." He smirked.
"Can we go to the movies tonight? Please?." She joined her hands together and was happy when he nodded in agreement.
"Thank you." She whispered.
Arnold left the room to get ready for work. Jenna still did her Job perfectly. She put out food for him and wiped his mouth after he was done eating. He left for work with two guards and she was left alone.
She was seated at the Dinning table chair in deep thoughts. Why didn't the Silver headed lady appeared to her? Was she scared of Arnold like he had said? Did she knew him or was he just playing around? clearing those bad thoughts she had a flashing image of what happened this morning.
She had accidentally kissed Arnold. It felt so good. She wondered how it would feel kissing those attractive lips of his. Each time she saw him she had the urge to hold him tight. She didn't know why but she felt that way. She caught herself smiling as his image appeared in her head. Her thoughts was interrupted by a phone call.
(Beeps)
"An unknown number?" She questioned.
"Hey Jenna, how are you doing?." A familiar voice spoke.
"Ace?." She said.
"Nice guess Jen." He chuckled.
"How did you get my number? And why did you call me?" She was so mad right now.
"Can we meet up?. Our favorite place by 6pm in the evening."
"No, I've got something important to do today Ace." She knotted her brows already getting tired of the conversation.
"What's so important?." He asked.
"I've got to go out with Arnold to see a movie at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema."
"Arnold?" He asked.
"Yea, My Boyfriend, The Man from yesterday."
"I don't like that guy one single bit." He rah his finger through his hair.
"And I didn't ask you to. If you don't like him it's your problem." She hung up.
She didn't know why she felt irritated by him. She liked him when they were still teens. She didn't understand what was going on. He hadn't done anything to her that would make her angry but she just didn't know.
She had waited for months to see him again but now he was finally here what changed?.
Why didn't she feel sparks when they kissed? But why did she she feel different when her lips brushed Arnold's?
What was going on?.
She sat in her room reading a book she had gotten from the library that evening. "The Dying Beast."
It looked like it was a true life story. A Prince who was dark heartened. He was seen as a beast and the most powerful man in the kingdom. Even his brothers feared him. He was cursed by his step mother. He had a short time to live and would soon die.
To save his life he had to go to town to search for his true love. The only way he'd live long was to take the life of his dearest.
"So sad he'll have to take the life of his love just to save himself." That part made her cry.
"I'll have to do this to save you My Love." She cried with a knife in her hand holding it close to to her stomach.
"Don't do it. Don't, I can't live without you." The cursed prince said.
"No..I need you to live. I don't want you to die. I'll always be with you. I'll never stop loving you. I'm sorry but I've got to do this." She brought the knife right to her stomach and knelt down with her hands on the knife. The knife was stuck in her stomach and her cloth was soaked with her own blood.
"No!!!!" He screamed out loud as he carried her in his arms till she closed her eyes.
"Don't do this, open your eyes, open your eyes please." He tapped her face waking her up but she wasn't opening her eyes.
The room was filled with blood and he screamed her name out loud.
Jenna's heart was racing. She expected an happily ever after ending. Why was it so tragic? She was relieved that it was just a story. The Author was really good in narrating exactly what happened and she pictures every scene in her head.
Why did it had to end that way? That was the most painful love story.
Time passed and Arnold was back. He walked into her room to see her munching on a
cookie.
"You're back." She looked at himself he walked to her.
"Yes I had to be home early today." He watched her walked to stand next to him. She took of his jacket and his tie.
"I arranged for your cloth today. I had sent Corey to get a nice top for you." She unbuttoned his shirt. He just stared at her surprised at what she did.
"Why?." He asked.
"Cause I want you to look different today Arnold." She smiled.
"Just go take your shower, I'd be waiting." She led him out of the room and closed the door behind him.
She got dressed. She wore a white straight gown and a grey scarf around her neck then she let her wavy hair pour down to her waist.
Arnold came in to see her looking at her reflection in the mirror.
She turned around to see him standing by the door.
"You're here." She walked to the wardrobe and took out a sky blue colored turtle neck top and walked back to him.
"It would look really good on you." She kept the top on this chest checking how it would look on him.
"I rather wear black." He said calmly with no grins.
"Nah-ah, not today. I want you to wear a light color. Don't you ever get bored of wearing black all the time?."
"That's who I am. I'm Darkness Jenna." He replied she saw truth in his eyes but no there was no way she'd believe that.
"Darkness is for the devil Arnold and you ain't the devil." She cautioned.
"I am." He corrected with a glare.
"No you ain't. Please wear this." She gave it to him and went back to the mirror to arrange her hair.
"Ain't you supposed to dress me?." He grinned this time.
"Y..yeah.." she walked to him and wore him the top. Then she dusted it as if there were stains on it.
"It's Beautiful." She smiled at him and he blinked slowly.
"Come, come sit" she led him to the dress table and add him to sit.
"Why?." He questioned sitting in front of the mirror while looking at her reflection in it.
"To comb your hair Arnold." She took out a comb from the drawer.
She placed her hand on his head and then held the comb in the other. His hair was so soft and smooth. She enjoyed combing it. She styled it and it made him look different but he was still gorgeous.
She applied some gel on it making it slip down to his left side. Some strands fell to his face giving him that God Damn look.
She was so serious and focused with what she was doing that she didn't notice him staring.
He enjoyed what she did with his hair. He felt relaxed. She was so soft and gentle with him.
He thought of letting her comb his hair everyday.
