Jenna sat at a space outside of the house and Ace came searching for her. He saw her seated at a corner then he walked to her.
"Jen." He sat close then she glanced at him and turned to the other side.
"Are you okay?." He asked looking worried.
"Happy Birthday Ace. Sorry I couldn't get you a gift. But I'd make it up to you." Sue averted her gaze.
"Thanks but are you okay?." He slowly lifted her chin making her look at him. She nodded.
"Just a little headache but I'd be fine. Go enjoy the party." She smiled faintly.
"You ain't telling me the truth. Did he hurt you?." He asked then she shook her head.
"He has never hurt me Ace. He's a good man." She rubbed her hand on her neck not wanting to look at him.
"And what about me?." He looked to the ground.
"Ace, you're a good guy and you're a good friend as well." She took his hand.
"And nothing more?." She saw hope in his eyes and it broke her to see anyone closer to her I Pain. How would she tell him that things just couldn't work out between them?
"You didn't want me to leave but I did and hurried back to you and now you're pushing me away?." His eyes looked like he'd cry.
"I'm not pushing you away Ace I.." she was cut off.
"What then? I know it's because of him." He looked away and she turned to stare at his side face.
"I..don't know Ace."
"He's nice after all. I know he saved your life and I wasn't there to lift a finger." Hearing him say those words really hurt her.
"Don't say it like that." She told his hand.
"You'll always be close to my heart. You'll always be close." She told.
"I want you Jenna and no one else. Since I left I couldn't stop thinking about you. When I heard you were missing I rushed back here to find you and you were no where to be found. I was hurt and worried with fear that something bad had happened to you." He explained.
"Those ladies in there are colleagues. I can't leave you for anyone Jenna." He held her waist and leaned in to kiss her when she placed her hands on his chest stopping him.
"Jenna." He called.
"No Ace. If actually you liked me then you'd understand." She stood up and was about to leave then he caught her hand.
"He wouldn't be able to take care of you Jenna. I've got some bad feeling about him. I'm not saying this out of jealousy but I just feel darkness surrounds him. Jenna you're hurting me." He rubbed his thumb on her knuckle and she closed her eyes holding the tears from rolling to her face.
"I'm sorry.." she took her hand away as hurried inside to her room.
She slammed the door shut and sat on the floor. She needed to leave this place and try to avoid Ace no matter what.
What was happening to her? She was all fine when Ace hadn't shown up. Why did he have to come back into her life to make things more complicated for her?.
Grandma had a point. She couldn't hurt Ace who had been here for her since forever. But what about Arnold that saved her?. She didn't know what to think. She didn't know who she wanted to be with.
She loved her stay at Arnold's Mansion but then Her friend's happiness mattered. She felt she needed to be a good friend to him now to repay him for his protections back then in school.
(Knocks) a knock interrupted her thoughts.
"It's Ace. Grandma asked me to give you these." He lied. He knew if he said that she'd open the door.
She walked to the door and opened it. "Give me what?." She asked staring down at his hand with was empty.
He pulled her inside and locked the door.
"Let me speak to you please." He said leading her to the bed to sit and she quietly followed.
"Ace, I'm not in for this. I don't feel too good." She turned her face away.
"You're just saying this Jen. Listen it's okay if you like Arnold. I won't force you to like me. I now you did liked me years ago but I was so stupid and too young to tell you about my feelings and now it's too late." He halted. hearing those she looked at his face.
Yes he was beautiful too but you can't compare them. Arnold was just so perfect that she saw no one else but him.
"I'm so sorry." He took both her hands in his as he looked deep into her eyes.
"You don't need to Ace. Please don't apologize." She looked into his eyes.
"Okay let's play a game." He looked at her confused face then he explained.
"Date me for two weeks and if you can't love me then I'd accept my fate and let you go." He liked like he'd cry.
"How would you.." she was cut off.
"Do this one thing for me Jen. Come back home and date me for two weeks. I'm sire that if we spend time together you'd get to like me again." He begged.
"I can't. I just can't." She closed her eyes and stood up with her back now facing him.
"You're hurting me a whole lot Jenna. We've been together for years and now you'd let a man take you away not minding how I'd feel." He looked down to the floor and she turned around to see a tear roll down his cheek.
"No Ace don't do that." She went to him to wipe the tears off then he grabbed her waist and brought her closer to him.
"Then date me. I asked for just two weeks please. Please Jenna. I'm so obsessed with you. I can't think straight anymore. I'm going crazy." Tear drops rolled down his cheeks and she felt like to cry as well.
"Please." He said lastly and then she sadly nodded.
"Thank you." He hugged her.
She felt uncertain about all of this. She knew she wasn't dating Arnold but she was slowly changing. This wasn't how she was before now.
Even if she loved him he'd never love her back cause he said it to her earlier that he doesn't love.
Should she just move on and forget about him? Can she???
