A doctor often faces such problems so, Ella was also used to such emergencies. she did not took anything too seriously. To her, her work was only to be able to save the patient which would show her professionalism. because in the eyes of the society a good doctor is one who is able to handle every situation calmly.
"Hah!" she sighed while standing in the office. she was tired after all the hectic now. so she thought it would be good to take a break for a while.
Meanwhile, Noir came in. but Ella was so lost that she did not realized when he came. he kept standing there for a while then finally called her name. "Ella!". at this she suddenly broke away from her thoughts.
"Oh! Noir, when did you came? " she asked confused.
"off course you didn`t realize when I came in. by the way what were you thinking so deeply that you lost sense of your surroundings." he asked.
"It`s not like that. I was just thinking what happened the other day." she replied.
"You just had a major operation and you also succeeded in it. so I came to congratulate you but look at you what you you are thinking. I was going to ask for a treat by the way but looks like i would Have to wait and first solve your problem. so what happened actually that day." he asked politely.
"Nothing much. I just encountered some one that day on my way to home." she replied.
"and who was that someone?" he again asked.
"It was Jayson. I told you about him. right??"
"Oh! yeah I remember now. so what about him? what did he say? "
"Well it was a long chat you know." she said
"No, I don`t know. so you have to tell me" he said joking.
"Tch! be serious . will you? " she said annoyed.
"Ok, I am serious now. so tell me what did you talked about." he then replied being serious.
"Well... It is like this...." then she told him everything that had happened that day. he kept listening to her silently. then after she had finished he said,
"you know what, I really do not understand you. why did you talked like that about your self. and on the other hand, how can that guy be like that. can`t he have a sense of responsibility.? but still most of all I am really angry at you. why do you keep discouraging and degrading yourself like that? " he said a bit in anger.
"Humph, ok now don`t be so angry. maybe we were not meant for each other since the beginning." she said explaining.
"hmm, maybe. so, is this chapter closed now.? " he asked.
"I think so.' she replied as if she was not totally sure.
"But Ella, you know that it can`t go on like this for long. you will have to chose someone someday." he said softly so that Ella won`t get annoyed at him.
"Un hun, It`s not like I have the choice to chose, It`s the other party who will chose me. and beside don`t i have you by my side." she muttered unconsciously.
At this Noir fell silent for a moment and became still. Ella looked up at him and realized that she should not have said those words like that. but there was an nonsatisfaction in her gaze. it felt like she wanted him to say something, anything in reply. then Noir sighed and said softly,
'Off course you have me by your side but for how long will this continue, someday you will need to chose someone to take care for you. and I am just a friend not some one on whom you can rely on forever,"
"So. are you also fed up of me now?" she asked him and there was a feeling of pain in her stare.
"Oh, Come on, It`s not like that. I am just saying that you don`t need just a friend but someone more than that. someone who can always by your side." he said explaining himself.
" you don`t need to explain your self. I know what you mean. and I also know that no one stays by you forever. whether it is a friend or a lover.' she said in a deep and low voice.
At this Noir fell silent for a while. maybe he remembered his own past. then he broke out and said. "but still. life is too long you need someone to be with you. it can not be spent alone and how can it be possible if you keep behaving like this."
"So, are you also saying that I should get married to anyone who my parents say and live my whole life with that person like a lifeless and emotionless statue." she said annoyed.
"Nooo!, that is not what I meant. I am just saying that why don`t you find someone who you truly loves and who loves you back." he said arguing.
"There is not anything like true love. it has vanished from this world long ago. all that exists now is a fake emotion of lust, that only lasts for a little while. and after a while that interest vanishes and you get fed up of the other person eventually.' she said so calmly like it was nothing much.
"Ah!... Ella..." he sighed. 'I just can`t beat you in words. why do you always think so negatively like this."
"Ok. fine. I won`t think like that anymore if you answer this one question. can you tell me who in this world want to love some person like me, Noir?.
"why won`t some one love you? what is wrong about you? why do you think this way?" he said almost giving up.
"No, don`t ask questions in return. just answer mine." she said and smiled but it was rather a painful one. "Ok, fine... then, let me make this more easier for you... WILL YOU LOVE ME?" she looked straight into his eyes and asked firmly. Noir fell silent by the sudden question out of surprise. he could not bring himself to say anything as it was so sudden for him. Ella could see the discomfort in his eyes and so before he could reply back she said again herself.
"Humph!.. See, you also fell silent as if someone got your tongue. But it is really fine, I knew it already that this would happen but don`t worry I was not serious. anyhow I am really sorry for crossing the line just now. it was really rude and impolite of me to ask something like this to you out of nowhere. sorry again.' she said laughing but it was not really what she felt inside.
"Please, can you leave me for a while. I want to be alone. so you can go now." saying this she went beside the window of her office and started to look outside towards the sky to show that she did not wanted to talk anymore. she did not say word again and nor looked back, Noir first stepped forward to talk to her but then he turned around and left quietly.....
