20 years ago the world went into chaos as the ocean had eroded up land, filled with monsters, big and small, creating havoc as they rampaged onto other continents.
But, around a year later, when all hope was lost and humanity had given up. People started to appear with something like powers. They went by many names, such as: awakeners, players, hunters, superheroes, superhuman and many others, whatever the people wanted to call them.
But, I didn't fall under any of those categories. Yet, I do hope that I could at least awaken as an F rank, so I could stop being babied by my older brother, Ezel Yu, who is one of the very rare S ranks in the world and has a big ego, and is confident AND is too protective, I mean, I'm only a year younger!
That is also why I am in the territory of the monsters right now, with my closest friend. well, only friend, who was actually allowed to hang out with me, Neil Pete. who I am really happy to have as a friend. He is also the one who helped me get out of the apartment I live in, unnoticed.
Neil is a B rank, that's also why I asked him to help me awaken, and him being kind, agreed. I didn't force him.
"I see one! A monster coming! it looks like a horned rabbit, it should be an easy kill, come on Jess!"
Neil called to me, but my gut said I should run away. A horned rabbit? Makes me want to run away? Am I really that cowardly?!
