Frustrated did not even begin to cut it. Alexis was pissed. She threw her perfectly henna-tattooed fist into the wall, allowing her crystal bracelets to clang together as it hit. She had spent years attending the Academy of Esoterics for nothing. She combed her fingers back through her black-red-green ombre and then flipped her head completely down and up in perfect head-bang fashion. Feeling energy tingle between her fingers, she manifested a perfect green sphere of energy, and launched that into the wall as well. Crumbles of the red brick sprinkled to the floor, and Alexis finally sat down to come to terms with the morning.
Headmistress Lenetta had put it plainly stating "you're just not the right fit for the organization". Alexis closed her eyes and felt a small tornado begin to form to the right side of her, her best friend Adam manifesting in place. The mind readers always know.
"In all fairness, I do believe last week you couldn't stop thinking about quitting the whole she-bang" he flicked cigarette ash onto the grassy dirt path "I could go for a ride; you coming?"
A ride was referring to his motorcycle. The next best thing to instant manifestation seemed to be interstate speed-racing. Alexis would bring a helmet; Adam would throw caution to the wind. Alexis would wish her hair into the perfect French braids; Adam had branded his favorite rune into his right arm. Alexis dreamed of clouds and roads that lifted from the ground into the sky on ice. She once found Adam nursing an entire created mini town made of his own flames. They had been best friends since they were 3. He enjoyed the purity of her mind, and she had grown into a daredevil after spending life alongside him.
Today the trek would be limited; Adam would be expecting a heart to heart about her situation soon ~ but the wind against their skin and phasing in and out of traffic was just what the doctor ordered.
