Alexis and Adam finished the ride by teleporting into the heart of San Francisco. While the parallel dimension was home to them both, a heart to heart was best found with the original Ghiradelli chocolate covered strawberries.
Alexis cupped a thick red mug of hot coffee between her hands, staring into the warm brown concoction as though it was a hug she could finish off and manifest both inspiration and clarity alike. Alexis didn't come from a family, she'd often joke and refer to herself as Muggle-born. The friend she made in Adam healed a hole that was her birthright before it could've consumed her as she aged. She inhaled and looked up at him fondly; feeling comfortable with her living, breathing home away from home. He met her gaze and smiled with his tussled golden brown hair an extra bit messy from the ride.
"I'm not sensing a need to plan your next step quickly. You've also been rather effective at hiding the details of this mystery discharge. What exactly are you wanting from our meet up today?"
Alexis took another deep inhale, and let the energies of raw earth combine and then cleanse her own. "Its a company day, Adam" She looked off into the distance. Company days were for breathing in the same room together, for being both alone and supported. Alexis had become adept at staying present, one thing she did catch on to from school, and in truth she figured that her next step would arrive itself. She had felt her future through a large variety of career options and in each one she felt a disdain for the mundane. The future intertwined with the academy was the only one she couldn't see through, making it the best choice for both a challenge and surprise. "I want to be able to lay out my feelings on the table, but words are escaping me for now. Can we step into the bakery?" Adam smiled and whirled the air around him until they were but a wisp in thin air.
Alexis stretched her arms in front of her to feel the stretchy, light garment she had been changed into. She wore a white apron over a long sleeve shirt and bottoms, and Adam had had the humor to pop on the stereotypical chef's hat before they begun. If their magical home dimension was on the right to the Earth side, this dimension would be the one on the left. If she had to describe it to a child, she'd tell them to imagine playing house with a fully functional, full-size world to play along. She directed the biggest chocolate pot in the kitchen to the stove, and began to watch the chocolate pour in. Adam, dressed in the same attire but wearing an electric yellow instead of white began placing yellow taffy in its great stretching machine, while beginning to place icing on a plethora of rainbow colored cupcakes directly in front of his baking table. He'd be caught up in his art work for this for some time; Alexis would have some semblance of privacy to do work and feel out the experience.
She began a smaller pot with white chocolate, which she swiftly food-colored a brilliant red, and threw in a yellow pot to keep up with Adam's flair. She began to play her first day at the Academy in her mind; losing track of the present for a few moments
