Chapter 35 - Raging Volcano (2)

I was not just filled with the belated energy of the consciousness but the thoughts and feelings of it.

{Hate}

{Disgust}

{Anger}

This consciousness was something I felt would be very similar to Dr. Edward Stein; Having hatred for things either non-existent or too far to imagine, disgusted in not just the world around but himself and the anger that fills him because he can't do anything to be less disgusted.

The feelings began to warp, twist and turn within me, like they were trying to stir up my own feelings. They were trying to force me into feeling those exact feelings that I refused to claim.

"Your own ignorance brought you into this mess, your stubbornness led you to this. You are the sole cause of your impending doom." These thoughts plagued my mind as I writhed in the never receding Psychological and physical pain I was feeling.

My own body felt like it was boiling from the energy that was running rampant. I could feel it, it was sentient, it carried the will of the consciousness and created these self-debasing thoughts.

"Athena…" I pleaded with the librarian within me to at least say something. I was confused.

"Was I dying? Was the Energy preventing me from dying? Was all of this a good thing or a bad thing? Is this really all my fault? Were we being unjustly attacked? Were we the villains in this case?" Numerous questions flooded into my mind.

Together with the foreign feelings and emotions, the pain that I felt and the weird energy vibrantly bursting within me my mind abruptly became a turbulent and dark place.

Athena remained silent, the soldiers that Christopher called in were startled and Christopher couldn't care any less.

He pushed through the commotion of the numerous soldiers aweing at the fact that I killed someone with merely the effect of my Energy; Aura.

They took extra care to avoid entering the flame-like reach of the crimson Aura so they wouldn't end up like their comrade.

"What manner of Sorcery is that!?

"He must be at the level of a Chief Sorcerer!!"

"He ain't even draw no Circles."

"He did no Chants." They exclaimed in curiosity and terror.

As Christopher pushed through them to get a closer look one of them protested.

"Sir, please do not proceed any closer, he has a strange Aura and he still lives even though his heart has been stopped. Neither your brother nor your father will be pleased if you die here." He said calmly to try to deter him from stepping back.

He managed to catch the attention of Christopher.

"What makes you say that?" He asked.

"They warned you about the Monetary value of everything within this Crypt and the high level of bandits like these invading them, you said that you could fight back and protect it and claimed one of the Organization's Crypts as your own. Your father took the verbal abuse and accusations that he was sharing the AO's riches with his family and defended you diligently. If you die in this very Crypt you will bring the highest of shame to your family." He explained thoroughly.

"You are calling me a Shame? Hehe, I understand. But I don't give a Damn. I am a Grade-A Sorcerer! My Fortification is unmatched and I am ready for whatever he wants to throw at me." He replied arrogantly.

"But sir, he could be Azur." The man replied with a final warning to try to deter him from approaching me.

"Yeah, and you could be A Dragon! Or, a Fallen Angel or something!" He said in mock. He probably believed that like the false concept behind my name Fallen Angels and Dragons were just that; False Concepts.

While the man argued that both Dragons and Fallen Angels do exist Christopher proceeded to confront me as I was writhing in pain.

He made sure to stay out of the reach of the lethal Aura of mine.

"You must be another one. Whitlock does have the tendency of getting poor and ignorant people to work for him not knowing what they are getting into. But you seem like a well dignified Sorcerer with access to the best research from various schools of thoughts, to be able to kill without moving a muscle while on the verge of death, that alone is worth applause. Makes me wonder how you were baited into this." He said respectfully but it was all some kind of tactic to make his taunting more comical to him.

"Please… stay away from me." I pleaded in an exhausted voice.

With every word of ridicule he spouted, the more I felt like I was going to combust here. The more the Energy welling up inside of me felt like it was rotting and burning away my insides.

It felt horrible.

"You know what happens to the Ignorant victims of Whitlock and his criminal friends? We hand them over to the Governments Defenders and act like they have been affiliated with the criminals for a long time, then they ask you things that you shouldn't know and when you don't answer they will torture you like you are withholding intel. Hehe." He said with a brief chuckle.

It was like he knew exactly what to say to make this rebound get worse, to stir up this sentient Energy flowing within me.

"Please stay away." I pleaded once more, not caring for what he was saying.

"I don't know how you are still breathing with a heart wound or how you were able to make voices have a weird conversation with anyone moving their lips but I doubt I need to think much about things like this. Sorcery is not just restricted to manifesting Elements or becoming super strong." Christopher said as he stepped backward a little feeling the scorching heat.

I tried to open my mouth once more to warn him for the last time but all that proceeded was the smoke of my burning vocal cords and organs, this fiery Energy had even began scorching my insides.

-{The Rebound Is Much Stronger than I thought. There Are A Few Options And Since None Of Them Are Any Good I Think You Should Choose On Your Own.} Athena finally spoke out.
