Gorum didn't really hold a grudge against Idalia, he didn't hold grudges against his enemies in general. Everyone has their own goals and their desire to achieve them, it would be unfair of him to hold grudges against others for having their own goals.
That said, Gorum had regret about the way he died and more importantly that he failed the common people. In a hundred years Idalia would no doubt had taken over and enacted her racist plan, but if he returned, he would be able to cut the suffering short...
"I accept." Gorum said, bowing his head to Crimson. Suffering does not undo suffering. He had to go back, if not for revenge, then for justice.
"Splendid! Now, I have some things to go over with you before your first assignment." Crimson spoke with glee and gave her big hands a clap in celebration.
"First of all is the removal of your current system and the installation of your new one." she said, beginning to create some sort of magical construct via weaving her fingers through the air as if she was doing crochet.
"I'm sorry, what?" Gorum said, utterly confused. As far as he knew, there was only one system, and it couldn't be removed from anyone.
"Ah, I suppose you wouldn't know but there's several different kinds of systems. There's the universal system that almost every planet has access to, there's the system given to otherworlders and there's the system bestowed to champions. Well, us gods also have a system, but you need not worry about that." Crimson spoke rather nonchalantly, as if what she was saying was beyond unimportant.
"Otherworlders are granted their own separate system? How is it any different from the universal one?" Gorum asked, trying to wrap his head around the mind-bending information he's been given.
"Otherworlders get smaller exp requirements, they get the ability to buy skills, and spells without having to learn them. They also get talents that way, instead of having to be born with them. Hrm, they also get exp boosts if their opponent is stronger than them. A myriad of differences to be honest. Champion systems are similar, but a sort of quest mechanic is introduced..." Crimson halfheartedly explained, trying to both listen to Gorum's questions and prepare a system replacement.
"Wait a moment, if otherworlders hold such an advantage in the form of their system, then how come they're all pushovers?" Gorum asked, remembering all the otherworlders he had ever met. He couldn't remember meeting a single otherworlder that had any sort of combat potential, they all were garbage when it came to using their head in combat and couldn't really learn technique for shit.
"Well, that's a question with a lot of complex answers but I'll try to give the simplest one I can. Almost all the otherworlders that get summoned as heroes are from a world that has no system or even mana. In worlds without mana, demi humans often end up not existing, and the same goes for magical beasts. Without magic of any kind, life gets significantly easier in terms of survival, so their rate of technological growth explodes until their societies are safe from outside harm. And humans get bored easy so they will cause conflict with each other through difference in opinion-" Crimson started a long and rather wordy explanation, causing Gorum's head to spin after just a few sentences.
"Simpler please!" Gorum said, holding his head, trying his best to absorb the information.
"Ah...to shorten it, their world is much safer, so the people are quite weak and bored. The average person has no clue how to fight whatsoever usually. And since we often summon the mentally feeble or damaged, they're even weaker in terms of combat prowess." Crimson said, stopping what she was doing for a moment so she could peer down at Gorum to confirm he understood.
"Thank you for explaining, I apologize for yelling..." Gorum bowed his head a bit.
"It's fine, I should've known better anyways. Now, while I finish preparing the system swap, I'm going to tell you a bit about your first assignment. I'm going to be sending you to a subworld under my jurisdiction where every 125 years a hero is born to combat a rising of evil. There, you're going to assist the hero in their quest. Their world is significantly weaker than yours so the average level for an adult is maybe 20 or so, and 100 for someone considered strong." Crimson said as she returned to weaving whatever magic was required to swap put systems.
"Well, that sounds-" Gorum began to say.
"Hush for a moment. The hero is already on their quest and doing quite well but there's a more...domestic issue afoot. The hero is currently having some lady trouble and it's stunting his growth. If it keeps up, he won't be strong enough to complete his literal only purpose. You are to take care of the problem and accompany him until he completes his mission." Crimson said, cutting Gorum off and continuing her mission brief.
"Lady Crimson, I don't think I'm the right person to be playing matchmaker..." Gorum said, scratching the back of his head in confusion.
"Not that sort of lady trouble, also hold still." Crimson said as she stopped weaving her magic, a small white orb of light about the size of a baseball appearing between her palms. Slowly floating down, the orb phased into Gorum's chest, disappearing.
"Was that-" Gorum started to ask.
"Yes, that was it, now is there anything else before I send you off?" Crimson said, beginning to show some impatience with Gorum's small brain questions.
"Could you...make me tall again?" Gorum asked after some hesitation, his eyes looking off to the side.
"You wish to be tall? Why? You look perfectly fine now, cute even. If you're worried about the tactical advantage of being taller, you shouldn't be. None of the worlds I'll be sending you to can pose even a bit of danger to you. You could prance around naked, and you'd still be considered indestructible. Besides, if I make you your previous height you might end up inconvenienced." Crimson said with bit of confusion, wondering why the hell he wanted to be taller.
"I'd just like to be taller, okay!?" Gorum said in a little outburst, unable to suppress his emotions like normal for whatever reason. After letting out a little huff, Gorum's cheeks quickly went red from embarrassment at his height complex being revealed. Gorum had always had a complex about his body, it was the real reason he agreed to Idalia's experiment. The tactical advantage was just a bonus.
"Ahhh, I see. Very well then Gorum, I'll make you taller. Before I send you off, I have one last thing to tell you." Crimson smirked a bit, finding his embarrassment to be amusing.
"You need to stop using Ugduals measurement system. Kuart and Wumbo are ridiculous forms of measurement, even if it is the official system of measurement the royal family put in practice. Just start using Feet and Pounds like everyone else, okay? If you go to these otherworlds using K&W everyone is going to look at you like you're a fool." Crimson said, warning him as if he were her child about to travel abroad.
"Er...yes, my Lady." Gorum bowed his head, a bit confused as he didn't know it was such a big deal.
"That's everything then, I'll send you off and summon you in the woods adjacent to a large town. When you're in the woods don't forget to deactivate your destroying presence skill, if you walk into town with it on you might end up killing the whole population with just your presence." Crimson said, weaving another spell and quickly teleporting Gorum away in a flash of light.
"Ugghhhh." Crimson sighed and tossed her head back in relief.
"I forget how taxing a system exchange is..." Crimson groaned softly and adjusted her toned, skyscraper sized body in her throne.
"I know you have something to say so just come out with it." Crimson said aloud, rubbing her temples.
"My Lady, please don't take this the wrong way. I don't wish to doubt your judgement, but that simpleton is hardly worthy to be your champion." A large hawk like creature emerged from behind on the massive pillars present in the throne room and began voicing its disapproval.
"Ordos, I've been over this with you before. A simpleton he may be, he will get whatever job I give him done. He has no ambition for power, no vices, and he's a loyal kind of idiot. There is literally no downside to naming him one of my champions." Crimson said, grumbling a bit at her avian servant, tired of having the same conversation over and over with him.
"But-" Ordos tried to protest.
"No buts! Now then, let me rest." Crimson cut off the creature named Ordos, settling in her throne as she wondered how Gorum's first task would play out.
