"Have a seat, please, Lady Aella." Queen Valerie gestured for her to sit in the cushioned seat as her handmaids placed two teacups with a kettle of hot tea.
"I did not come here to have tea with you, Your Majesty." Aella gritted and remained standing by the doorway as the Queen settled in the sofa with a small smile on her face.
"I can practically feel the hatred radiating from you," Queen Valerie looked amused. "Well, the fact that we captured your husband must have kindled the animosity you already have for my son, and our family in general."
Aella wasn't surprised to hear that Queen Valerie knew that she hated her son. What made her more skeptical was the fact that the Queen liked her. No, this wasn't her imagination. The Queen has always made indirect comments about how she was much preferable to Aurelia.
