After eating and drinking their fill, Jasper and Dimitri sat down for a moment to rest, as they were quite tired.
"I haven't eaten like this in a long time. I think the last time was before I became an astronaut.
After I started training I had to control my eating too much. I guess it was similar to you, Dimitri."
Dimitri took a sip of vodka and laughed. "Only at a few events did I eat this way, but I may have gone a little too far at the moment."
Marta who was looking at the two men decided to learn from them.
'Starting learning subroutines… Creating new database… Dimitri and Jasper defined as learning objects…
Establishing mimicry for learning feelings and facial movements…'
The two men simply ignored the changes the little hologram girl was undergoing, as they were more focused on getting some rest.
It wasn't until Jasper yawned that he turned his head to look at Marta.
"Little girl, there is a place to rest for a bit.
Physically, I may still be energetic, but mentally I am a bit weak. I would love to be able to lie in bed and rest for a while."
Marta turned her head and smiled at Jasper. "Got it. Come with me to the rest area specially prepared for you."
The two men looked at each other with some doubts and followed Marta through the corridors of that place.
As they moved forward, they could see that every time they took a step the whole place changed as if the entire infrastructure was brand new.
Dimitri touched one of the walls but realized that his hand was dusty despite looking completely clean.
"These holograms improve the view of the place, but no matter how good it looks, the garbage will always be garbage.
We should tell the little girl that she needs to be careful to improve the environment we are in, since I don't want to have an accident because I couldn't see some obstacle in my way."
Marta who was walking alone moved her head to the side. "This aid unit I accept her suggestion and will not apply a beautification layer in dangerous areas.
But I can't agree to remove the embellishment layer since the mental results of the two of you show that you can collapse within a few days after feeling a hostile environment.
My duty is to ensure their survival and health at all times."
Dimitri wiped his hand with a napkin he had taken from the dining room. "I see what you mean. Just keep us from having an accident with the holograms and we'll be fine.
Well, I don't understand at all the changes that I underwent with this body and I don't want to test its resistance by accident."
Marta laughed in a way that made both men uncomfortable. "Ha… ha… ha…"
The laughter stopped abruptly before Marta turned her head from her and stared at them.
"This unit detects mixed feelings in their minds. The laughter procedure seems to have been applied at the wrong time.
Analyzing… Analyzing… Analyzing…
The simplest solution was found."
Marta then showed the regretful face of an innocent girl. "Sorry for the poorly implemented laugh.
My sensors thought it was the best time to laugh at the joke they told, though I can't tell why I laughed as my subroutines judged the time to be right.
Human feelings are not easy to imitate, but I will learn by watching you."
Jasper scratched his head and looked at Dimitri, trying to find an answer. However, Dimitri just shook his head at him.
"I don't have the slightest idea how to act, even though I've read a lot of sci-fi books and seen a few movies.
This is something completely new to me and I really don't have the slightest idea how to proceed at the moment.
But one thing I'm sure of is that maybe that little girl will give us some trouble in the future."
Jasper shook his head. "I think she could help us. It's just that we don't understand the technology she works with.
Right now we are like cavemen facing a modern computer. We can see it and touch it, but without help it is impossible to understand it.
Fortunately for us, the computer that we have in front of us cannot understand if it will possibly help us at some point to understand this technology.
Just think that scientists will be able to do wonderful things with this technology, it is true that the rulers may have more warlike ideas.
But perhaps in some way we could release the information slowly so that the advances are not so great without causing a geopolitical imbalance.
The last thing I want is a total war and ending the launch of nuclear weapons for the fight of knowledge."
Dimitri smiled and placed his hand on Jasper's shoulder. "Luckily, you are the rational person in this friendship. I would never have thought of handing over this technology.
I may love my Soviet Union, but I understand that this technology is a ticking time bomb that can end the world.
I cannot sacrifice the world for just a momentary help, because in the end this is not something that only one nation can have.
But that is only my thought, although I find your proposal much more attractive, as it would prevent nations from fighting over something that can help them all."
Jesper raised his hands and showed a confident face. "I think it's the most sensible option in this case. Of course, like you, I understand the dangers of advanced technology.
But I fully trust humanity as a whole. We are social beings, so anything that can improve our society should be published."
After walking for some time, they managed to reach a huge room that seemed to be a place of safety.
In the room, after advancing a little they reached a kind of place where there were two strange armors which were somewhat bulky but not too much.
The two men looked at her with some surprise at the armor, which had a black color.
Marta, at that moment, stood in front of them and opened her hands, showing a false smile. "This is the 616 armor.
They must remember that these armors will protect their bodies at all times against any kind of unforeseen event.
They have the ability to resist any weapons that use synthetic force. They also resist energy weapons and some gravity grenades.
They can generate a force shield and it also contains a rest mode so you won't be able to take off your armor at any time."
