MeiLan went to the table under the trees and took morning tea as usual. She was dressed as a man, but no one concerned themselves about that anymore, they just accepted it as a quirky habit of the young woman. Her dark hair was swept up into a topknot, but the silver pins that held it in place were different than usual. If anyone had looked closely, they also would have noticed a travel bag hidden under the table by her feet. But no one paid any attention to the young miss.
"Mr. Lee, please saddle Onyx for me after breakfast," she said casually.
"Saddle? Are you going out for a ride?" His weathered face wrinkled up even more with concern. "Shall I accompany you?"
"No need, Anak is going with me." She said it almost carelessly.
