Chapter 30 - Horror story

Chapter 29 (Andrew's POV)

After some discussion, we realized there is a better plan than bringing Rick in.

We decided to follow him around.

But we used my mom's car. Because we hoped he wouldn't recognize her car.

So far we had luck, but a few minutes ago he turned from the main road on some abandoned forest trail. So we decided to park mom's car and continue on foot.

We just had to follow the trail and sooner or later we would find him and his destination.

Even though we were onto him I still had a really bad feeling about everything.

We started walking.

We stayed quiet in case we would hear anything.

We walked for a while, just sticking to the trail.

But soon we heard someone yelling in the distance.

We were too far away to hear words but we heard someone shouting.

We qickend our pace.

Suddenly we heard a really loud scream.

But this one sent cold chills down my spine.

Because I knew this scream.

Even though I've heard it in more pleasurable situations.

When I looked in Knox's direction I saw horror on his face that I bet was mirrored on my own.

We ran at the same time towards Vicky's shrieks.

After a few seconds we found a really bad situation in front of our eyes.

Rick was on top of Vicky, her clothes were torn and he was wielding a bloody knife around.

Vicky already had cuts all over her arms, but honestly there was too much blood to even see all the cuts.

But at that moment all I could see was red in front of me.

I was on Rick in a second and all I could think about was making him feel all the pain Vicky was feeling.

I got only a few blows in before someone was lifting me off him.

And next thing I know Knox was yelling in my ear.

"You idiot! Is it worth it to go to prison for this scumbag? Help out Vicky and leave him to me! Vicky needs you right now! She is unconscious and bleeding!"

Those words brought me back to reality.

At the moment Vicky needed me.

I got myself out of Knox's hold and went to Vicky.

I started looking over her body, but each wound I found on her body was a wound to me. It was another reminder I was too late.

I picked her up and shouted to Knox.

"I'll carry her in the direction of the main road, let the paramedics know to look out for us ok?"

"Sure brother. Just take her out of here. And make sure her heart won't stop."

I was scared. I couldn't lose her.

Even though she would hate me, I just needed to make sure she stayed alive.

"Hold on love. World needs sunshine like you. I need you! Please don't leave me. Don't prove to me that I always fuck up good things in my life. Please love."

I could hear soft murmurs from her and I leaned closer to her only to her the sweetest words than were also the most terrifyIng ones at the same time.

"I love you."

I was afraid of those words but yearned for them at the same time.

I walked a little faster and soon I saw a pair of paramedics coming our way.

"Here! Please help her. She needs help fast. She bleeds a lot and I think she is also dehydrated."

They took her from my arms and started their work immediately.

They put her on the stretcher and took her towards their vehicle.

When they put her inside one of the paramedics turned my way.

"Sorry sir, but she needs immediate help and in that case we need you to follow us in your own car."

It went against what I wanted but I still nodded my head.

I understood.

She needed help right away and I wasn't about to stand in the way of her help.

So I watched as they closed the door and drove away.

I decided I would wait for Knox and that we would drive together to the hospital.

I also needed a few minutes to get some fresh air and to get it all out.

I wasn't a religious person.

But I still prayed probably for the first time in my life.

I prayed for Vicky's life. I prayed for my own soul. I prayed I didn't fuck up everything. Not again.
