Chereads / Alpha's Pregnant Omega / Chapter 22 - Chapter 22

Chapter 22 - Chapter 22

As Alexa was being pulled into the house by her grandmother, she felt like her heart remained in the yard. Although she didn't see much of the fight, something about the omega called to her. She could see that he was strong, stronger than he should be, and Alexa felt herself swell with pride over that fact. But why would she be proud of some stranger whose eyes she never even saw? Her grandmother looked at her causing Alexa to slightly shake her head and tried to put away the strange thumping of her heart.

They were led to a large sitting room. It was comfortably furnished with paintings of wolves on the walls. "Please excuse me for a moment." Alpha James bowed slightly and left. a few minutes later, an omega walked in pushing a tray. It had pots of coffee, tea, and water along with cookies, scones, and little sandwiches. The omega served them, and when she got to the Alpha, she paused. It was clear for a blind man to see how she leaned over, allowing him to see her cleavage. Yet all Alpha Bradley did was to thank her stiffly. Pouting, who lied, and told her that it looked cute on her, she finally withdrew.

Alpha Bradley sighed. Beta Sam chuckled to see the way his friend was uncomfortable. If he doesn't find his mate soon, he can imagine this, times a hundred. After all, this was only the first pack that they visited, and they haven't even met anyone else as yet. Bradley leaned and took some of the sandwiches. After taking a bite, he was blown away by the taste. It has been a long time since he tasted something that reminded him of home. Not the building, but the feeling of being comforted in his mother's arms, or feeling his father ruffle his hair when he did well on a task.

Leaning his head back, Bradley crossed one arm over his eyes in an attempt to keep the tears from falling. Breathing in deep, he refocused on the present. Now was not the time to reminisce on the past, but to form strong allies and get a feel of the packs around him. "Alpha, are you okay?" Council Seers reached out and gently touched his knee. Lowering his arm, he looked at the woman who played a big part in who he is today.

"Yes, Auntie. I'm okay. In fact, I'm just thinking about that omega standing up to his Alpha for so long. If he was part of our pack, he would be a great asset."

"You're right Alpha," Sam spoke up. "He would be something to reckon with. If it's possible, I would like to spar with him. Do you think Alpha James will allow it?"

Bradley shrugged, "Who knows, maybe you just ask. But I think he would say alright, even if he didn't like it, especially after today." Sam's booming laugh echoed through the room. Cynthia Seers looked at the Beta and then at her granddaughter. She had hoped that they would have been mates, but alas it was not so. Glancing at Alexa again, she saw the way her eyebrows scrunched up, the way they did when she was trying to figure out something.

Alexa couldn't stop thinking about the omega, and it didn't help that Bradley and Sam brought him up again. She really would like to see him again, but how? Turning to her grandmother, she tugged on her sleeve. "Grandma, if Beta Sam and that omega fight, could I watch them?"

Cynthia was surprised. Ever since she was a pup, Alexa dislike physical activities. She learned the basics and can handle herself okay if she was attacked, by her skills were in the IT field. Despite how she looks, she is one of the top Computer geniuses. She can find and hack anything in record time. She had so many ideas, many that have been embraced and implemented within the council and by extension the different packs around the world. It's because her life is constantly behind the screen, which is one of the reasons why they are out actively looking for her mate. "Of course, my dear, once they are okay with it. Not all males like losing in front of a beautiful young lady."

At this moment, James stormed into his bedroom, his Beta close behind. "I've never been so embarrassed in years." turning he asked, "What happened to that omega Samuel?"

"He was taken to the cells. The doctor was called to deal with his wounds. Because you held back, he didn't sustain serious injury, so he's bandaged and resting. We are awaiting your orders."

James sighed, "That was a good decision. Thank you. I will give further instructions later. Right now, I need to take a shower and get to my guests. Aside from Samuel, were there any other concerns?" James asked as he began stripping, heading to the shower.

"No Alpha, all was well... umm..." James paused. It was clear that Juda had something to say. "James, why did you hold back? You could, you should have ended the fight before he was even able to get in more than five hits, so why?"

"He's Trishanna's friend, isn't he?" Juda nodded confused. "Well, that's enough of a reason." Juda wanted to question him further, but James just shook his head. "When you find someone, you want to be with, my decision will make sense then. Now if you will excuse me..." Juda bowed and left James' room, closing the door behind him. James sighed again and made his way to the bathroom. It's time he got cleaned up and get back to his guests.

While he was getting dressed, he felt someone linking him, opening it he realized it was from the warrior who was keeping Trishanna in her room. He wanted to know what to do next. James instructed that she go to the kitchen to ensure that the guest has enough refreshments, but she was not to leave the kitchen. Other omegas will do the serving. Then he closed the link and made his way to his guests.

Opening the door, he could see that Juda had joined them, and they were in a friendly discussion about the pros and cons of surveillance technologies. It was the first time that James noticed the young female who sat next to the Councilwoman. He could tell that this topic was one that she enjoyed. He could also tell that Juda noticed the flush of excitement on her cheeks and Juda had that look in his eyes. James also saw how Cynthia Seers frowned at Juda's glances and James hoped that his Beta will keep it in his pants. It would not bode well for them to be on the Council's radar.

"Thank you for your patience, would you like to take a short rest in your room before dinner?" James asked, ever the host. It was only now that he realized how much having a Luna would make life easier. If he mated with Trishanna, she would be able to take these types of tasks off of his shoulder, and it would make him look more stable. Many think that an unmated Alpha allows for weakness and instability within the pack.

Everyone agreed, and soon they were directed to their rooms, the Goldmoon's warriors as well, and they would be called for dinner. Earlier the warriors were doing a quick sweep of the area and reported that it was clear. Alexa still felt restless. Slipping out of the room she was assigned to share with her grandmother, she made her way three doors down and knocked. "Excuse me," she asked the shirtless Goldmoon warrior who opened, "do you know what happened to the man who was fighting with Alpha James?"
