Trishanna couldn't sleep. After the fight, she knew that Sammy was being held in the pack's prison. She was sure that if it wasn't for the timely appearance of the visitors, he could have been banished, or even killed. After tossing for a while, she decided to head over to the cells. Maybe if she's lucky, she could see him. She just wanted to confirm with her own eyes that he was okay.
Sneaking into the kitchen, she took the remaining baked goodies she made earlier to use as a bribe. After grabbing Sammy's jacket, she headed in the direction of the prison. "Halt, who goes there?" the guards on duty asked. They had already smelt her scent and had linked the Alpha. James gave them permission to let her see her friend, but they should act like they don't want to at first.
Trishanna meeting their 'objection' offered up her basket of goodies like little Red Riding Hood. When she was allowed in, she rushed to Sammy's cell. Seeing her friend in bandages was a heart-wrenching sight and she couldn't stop the tears from falling. "Oh Samuel, why did you attack the Alpha? It wasn't worth it. I wasn't worth it." Sammy was shocked to see his friend on her knees on the filthy ground, crying for him.
"Hey now, that bastard deserved it, and even more for taking what wasn't his." Wiping her cheeks, he added, "How could I just let anyone do something like that to my Rosebud and not do something about it? Hmm...? How would I have faced Rosie in the afterlife, if I let it go unpunished?"
"And what would happen to me if you went there before you should? Did you think about that? Sammy, he could have killed you. Then I would have truly been alone." Sammy covered the cold hands of his friend as she gripped the bars of his cell.
"I'm sorry Trish, I guess I didn't think about that. I promise, that from now on, I won't let my feeling cause you to feel like that. okay?" Trishanna nodded, and slowly rose to her feet at the shuffling sound behind her. The guards did allow her only five minutes. Taking a little wrapped bundle from her jacket, she passed it to Samuel. It was some of the scones she made. Caressing his bruised face, she sadly smiled at him, before turning to leave. She could only hope that things got better tomorrow.
The next morning was busy for Trishanna. The visitors were to eat with the pack at the Alpha's table. This meant that she may be required to serve more people, but maybe if she was lucky, she would be spared from serving like she was yesterday. Homemade bread, toast, French toast, bacon, eggs, salads, fresh orange and pineapple juices, oatmeal, and a variety of jams, not to mention coffee and tea were to be prepared. Thankfully, two omegas were assigned to assist, with Trishanna overseeing everything and giving the final taste check. The help was greatly appreciated, and she mainly had them doing the prep and the cleaning.
Everything was laid out in warmers, and it seemed as though everyone was on their best behavior. She wasn't sure if it was an order from the Alpha, but even as an omega, Trishanna could sense that there was a strong aura in the house, even stronger than that of an Alpha. Mixed with it was a nice scent, almost like a cologne. She simply shrugged and assumed that it belonged to one of the guests. Like yesterday, she was asked not to serve and was happy to do so. Taking this time, she grabbed herself some breakfast and packed a plate to take to her friend.
Alpha Bradley was sitting to the left of the Alpha, opposite his Beta. Next to him was his Beta followed by Alexa. Councilwoman seers sat next to Beta Juda. There was an assortment of items for breakfast and Bradley decided to get what he wanted himself. Excusing himself from the table, he grabbed a plate, much to the surprise of many of the Bloodmoon members. Sam followed suit and soon did the other two. It was hard for him to choose what to eat so he decided to just take a bit of everything.
Thank goodness werewolves burn a lot of calories, so his overflowing plate, will not be a problem to take down. Seating himself once more, he hoped that whoever made the meal was the same person from before, and he was not disappointed. The taste of home seemed even stronger, and it took all of his might, not to just barge into the kitchen to ask the chef to come back home with him. "Alpha Bradley, it seems as though once again you're enjoying your meal," James asked, pleased at the way things were going.
Wiping his mouth, Bradley quickly chewed and swallowed before answering. "Yes, Alpha James. Surely your chef is beyond measure. I'm surprised that with such skills your members aren't looking like furry snowmen. Didn't you say that I could meet them this morning?"
"That's true." James waved an omega over. "Please bring our chef here."
"You want me to bring that 'Trash' here?" James growled warningly at the petty omega. He's been ignoring her advances since yesterday as he has every intention of mating with Trishanna. "I already told you to call her by her proper name. Now, if you don't want to join her friend, please bring her here." The omega nodded and headed to the kitchen. She returned a few minutes later, minus Trishanna. "Are you deaf?"
Councilwoman seers observed the exchange. She has been hearing some rumors about how things are done in this pack as well as a few others, so she wanted to verify it herself. James continued, "What could be so hard to tell someone that their Alpha is calling them?"
The omega bowed her head, "I'm sorry Alpha, but she's not in the kitchen, her room, or even in the kitchen gardens." A small feeling of dread began to stir in his chest. He opened his link to ask if anyone has seen her or knows where she is. There were many denials until one of the warriors on prison duty said that she was there. Sighing, James thanked the warrior and relaxed. Turning to his guest, he apologized. "I'm sorry, but it seemed that she is such a caring soul that she went to visit her friend who was imprisoned yesterday."
"Is it the one who attacked you?" Bradley asked.
"Yes, the very same. They have been friends since childhood. It must be very hard on them since that omega was personally hand-picked by the Gamma and usually works outside of the pack." Taking a sip of his coffee, James continued. "Because of this, they hardly spend time together."
"Could you say the reason why he would dare to attack his Alpha?" Councilwoman Seers asked. Alexa's heart jumped the minute they began to talk about him.
"It's all just a misunderstanding. One that I had aimed to rectify on my return, but things didn't go as planned." Everyone nodded.
"Well then, Alpha James. I noticed that he held his own pretty well in the fight, and I would like to chat with him if you wouldn't mind. Also, my Beta has expressed his desire to spar with him as well."
"Of course, I don't mind Alpha Bradley. In fact, let's head over there right after breakfast." James had an urgent need to see Trishanna, as the feeling of dread was still present. What if she took this time to run away?
"I like the sound of that."
