Chapter 19 - Chapter Nineteen

"You work fast, Vizago."

I muttered as I was inspecting the droid I requested while crouching. And it was true, the goat did deliver it in four days, I thought that it would at least take a week or two.

"and you change your armor just as fast."

I rolled my eyes at the joke. The systems still needed to be inspected and since I requested one with a working shield, the favor would not be payed if the generators did not work.

As I was about to do just that, he poke up again, taking away my attention from my task.

"Hey, I'm about to cash in on another deal, you can inspect that over there if you really want."

He pointed at a corner of the rock formation, and I rolled my eyes, no wonder he did this fast. He was going to get more money then he spent with whatever he was getting. With a sigh, I grabbed the handle of the cart and took it to wherever he pointed.

Grabbing a tool that went as a screwdriver in this world, I began disassembling the body of the droid where the generator was held. Took a few minutes but the lid was off and I was looking at the internal workings... This thing was small... so damn small for this giant container... used as protection from blaster bolts that managed to get through before the shield was up, maybe?

While it may be small, I might still need a bag to effectively carry it... or I could fold it out and make it into a belt. My grin that started appearing every time I found a way to make something new, or in this case, remake something, found it's way onto my face again as I started inspecting the mechanism wholeheartedly.

The system might need to be updated but overall, the parts looked good to be used again.

"Hn."

I still smiled under my helmet, giving into the urge. So much for not being weird.

I poked around for a few minutes, checking other systems that were connected to it before spearing a glance at Vizago who was tapping his finger on his bicep impatiently while looking at the sky. Guess they were coming with a ship instead of a ground viecle.

Lucky them, I was still saving for a small ship capable of going into hyper space. Hopefully, I can manage get a few good bounties before getting a bigger ship. Maybe start a crew... Or I could just buy some parts, find an old ship and rebuild it... Alternatively, I could steal a shuttle from the empire because why not? I've done worse.

Lighting crackled around my hand and was channeled into the main battery source. A blue energy shield flickered around the robot, and consequently, me. My smirk grew larger and this time, I didn't try to restrain it.

It soon flickered off as I stopped channeling electricity into the battery and stood up. Now, I just needed to-

The force pulsed and I looked to the side, narrowing my eyes at the familiar ship that was getting closer to out position. The Ghost crew... Humming slightly, I stood up and grabbed the handle to pull the cart towards my hoverbike.

I got what I came here for, it was time to leave.

Attaching the cart to the bike with the magnetic pull that I always used when I transported carts, I walked over to check if the droid was secure enough to not fall off due to the wind.

As I was doing that, the ship landed, the hatch opening and revealing Kanan, Zeb and Sabine pulling crates. I could stay and say hello, but I had things to do, forcefields to make, people to rob, all that jazz.

Walking over to the seat, I swung my leg over it and got comfortable. With a twist of the handle, the engine started and I slowly started moving outside the rock formation, moving slowly to make sure the already fragile robot didn't take any more damage.

There was one downside to hoverbikes, the kind that I had specifically, and hat was that they were too close to the ground. That meant that any rock that was bigger then a pebble would cause shaking. The mechanism that was used to make the bike float was very... sensitive, and I hadn't gotten around to building a whole new bike yet. Soon though.

And a wasn't too keen on stealing one ready for use... they looked ugly as hell, it was bad enough that I rode this old junk with it being one of the early models.

In the corner of my eyes, I spotted Kanan looking at me but I ignored that and continued to my exit.

The force pulsed again as I was gaining distance from the trading spot and I looked up, spotting a ship with two walkers attached to the bottom of it... I need to remember to look up more often, not used to doing that since usually I'm the one with the high ground.

Speeding up, I turned the bike back, avoiding the bolt that was shot at me from one of the walkers.

I needed to get the bike to cover, then I could take care of the walkers. Never fought one before, so it would be a learning experience.

Reaching the said cover, after avoiding a few bolts, I quickly turned to the side to get my bike away from any stray bolts that might hit it.

Jumping off, I grabbed my finished blaster and turned the safety off.

"Oh, hey Ghost, nice of you to join us. You don't mind joining the party, do you?"

I spared a glance at the leader of the Ghost crew and just nodded. We were under attack, now was not the time for pleasant conversation.

"My invite must have gotten lost in the mail..."

Never mind.

The explosion that sounded from right behind the rocks shook the ground and I clicked my tongue, turning around. Quick and clean, like always.

I decided to ignore the fact that most of my heists were messy, but they were planned to be that way, so it doesn't count.

With a sigh, I turn towards one of the entrances and look at it for a moment before shrugging and taking out my vibro-blade. With a jump, I slammed it into the rock in front of me and used my legs to jump up with the assistance of the same rock I was climbing.

The walkers were getting close and it was turning out to be just another Tuesday for me. I was expecting a weekend.
