Chapter 5 - The call

The force has been calling for him. That was the only way to explain it, the indescribable feeling that he needed to go somewhere.

So, he prepared.

A speeder was secured, fuel was stolen, rations prepared and clothing prepared for cold nights.

The force has been his constant companion for fourteen years now, if it needed him to go somewhere, he would trust it.

Getting on the speeder, he sent a final look at the tower that has been his home for six years now and turned on the engine.

He would be back... Probably.

And like that, Colt was off, silently watching as the city slowly got smaller and smaller and so did his tower.

Finally, when he couldn't see the city anymore, he reached out to the Force, focusing on the direction it was leading him to.

Being slightly relieved that he was going in the right direction, he relaxed and followed the feeling, entering a meditative state that made him aware of even the slightest fluctuations in the force.

This wasn't the first time he was like this, meditation ended up with him in this state quite often, however, it wasn't the best idea to be like this while riding what amounted to a motorcycle.

Opening his eyes again, Colt wasn't surprised when he saw an empty field, there weren't many settlements on Lothal, and if there were, they were too far away from each other.

He sighed, this trip was going to take days, maybe weeks, if he didn't bring enough fuel, he would have to walk.

___

Five days.

It took five days for his fuel to be cut down to half and food remained at one-third of its original amount.

Sighing, he sat down next to the speeder, sighing. He would have to leave the speeder here until he returned, that, or it would be stolen. Anything could happen out there, it would be lucky if no one found this speeder.

Looking up at the sky, he watched the stars for a bit before closing them and delving into the Force.

It was still calling him in one direction, but now it seemed more... Patient? It was like it knew he was coming and was waiting patiently for him to arrive, however, there was something else...

But when he was about to investigate further, he felt a slight breeze on his face...

Opening his eyes, he schooled his face into a blank mask as he looked up at the white wolf that he did not hear or sense it arrive.

Colt blinked up at it, and the wolf blinked back.

Calling out to the force, conveying his feelings through the link...

They could be summed up with four words.

What the Fuck, bro?

As of feeling his confusion, the wolf huffed again and stood up from its sitting position.

Sniffed him, and like approving, huffed again.

The force pulsed, and he complied, holding up a hand to the white wolf. It sniffed it and finally, gave it a slight push.

Colt could only watch silently as the beast that hadn't been seen for a hundred years, inspected him.

Finally, it stopped and crouched down, giving his access to its back. It wanted him to get on.

The force positively vibrated and he shrugged mentally, grabbing the bag of rations, he flung it over his shoulder and cautiously climbed on.

He never rode a horse, let alone a giant wolf before, but as long as he held on, it should be fine as long as he held on.

When the wolf bent down and ran, he ran fast.

And fast was an understatement. If he didn't know any better, Colt would think that the wolf was using force to speed itself up.

It took a few hours, but he could see small rocks popping up here and there. The night was spent running in one direction, the direction led by the Force. The breeze was nice and he was tired, so the feeling quickly made him relax.

His eyelids slowly got closer and closer until they finally closed and he fell asleep.

___

In hindsight, Colt had to admit that sleeping on a running wolf wasn't his brightest idea. He understood that when the wolf stared at him blankly with the bag of rations in its mouth, it looked like he dropped it while sleeping.

In the end, it took three more days to reach his destination... A big rock... Bruh.

Getting off the wolf, he stared at the giant... Mountain? and released a sigh. Turning back to the wolf, Colt raised an eyebrow, the beast was gone.

Again, he didn't feel it leave, just like he didn't feel it appear. The Force was calling him to this place, so what did it want him to do?

Looking closer, he noticed the weird positions of the small pillars along with the markings on the ground. And the giant rock looked like it was bursting out of the ground.

Closing his eyes, he reached out to the force. The wave he sent out washed over the rock and revealed nothing.

Sitting down, he started meditating, focusing more on the force and shutting everything else out. It was only him and the force.

He sat there for what seemed like hours, just exploring the force, trying to figure out what it wanted him to do.

Sadly, the force seemed to refuse his questions only buzzing rhythmically at his prodding.

He didn't know how much time passed and it did not matter when the ground shook.

Opening his eyes, he watched with astonishment as the giant pillar rose, seemingly trying to reach the clouds, only to stop when an entrance was revealed, leading inside the rock pillar...

...Well, wasn't this neat?

Standing up, he walked inside, trusting that the force wouldn't lead him astray, it has aided him since the age of eight, after all.

Walking inside, he observed the walls until he reached the room of pillars and a single door in front.

Looking around, he saw skeletons... That wasn't concerning at all.

These must have been the Jedi masters, judging from the robes. Why were they there was still a mystery for him?

The door in front of him was open, and the force seemed to be calling out to him, telling him to walk forward and cross the threshold.

Hesitating only slightly, he walked forward, walking through the door only for it to close as soon as he walked inside.

Sighing, he wanted to facepalm right then and there, it was so obvious! Why didn't he realize that it would close?

Walking forward while shaking the thoughts out of his head, he arched an eyebrow at the sight that greeted him when he walked out of the tunnel he was in.

Three doors, each leading in different ways. As he was about to call out to the force to lead the way, he hear a voice, a voice he didn't expect ever to hear, not in this world.

"Alex?"

That one word uttered so innocently, the voice full of curiosity and excitement, sent a shiver down his spine.

"Alex? Is that you?"

Turning to one of the doors, his face lost all color.

There, right past the door was an eight-year-old girl, her hair was long, it almost looked like it was shining. Her big, brown eyes looked at him with excitement, the smile she had was genuine and loving. The sight made Colt's blood run cold.

Right there, just past the door, stood his sister.

His very much alive-looking sister.
