Chapter 30 - What is that supposed to be

Night descended upon the dorm room, Ivy and Ignis settled into their respective beds, the soft glow of moonlight casting gentle shadows across the room. Ignis lay on his back, staring up at the ceiling as thoughts swirled through his mind.

Meanwhile, Ivy curled up beneath the covers, a sense of contentment washing over her as she nestled into the warmth of her bed.

A hush fell over the dimly lit space. Ivy's voice broke the silence, a soft tremor threading through her words, "Hey Ignis, do you fear ghosts?" Ignis turned to her, the flickering candlelight casting shadows on his face as he replied, "No, I don't believe in ghosts. Darkness has never held any fear for me." Ivy's eyes widened slightly, her gaze darting nervously around the room.

"So, that means you're not afraid of the darkness of the night?" Ivy asked, her voice barely above a whisper. Ignis chuckled softly, his tone reassuring, "No, not at all. In fact, I used to spend countless nights reading magical tomes in the headquarters."

As Ignis rose from his bed and made his way to the bathroom, Ivy couldn't suppress a shiver of apprehension. "Where are you going?" she called out, her voice tinged with anxiety. Ignis paused, his silhouette framed by the moonlight streaming through the window. "I'm just going to use the bathroom," he replied calmly.

Panic rose in Ivy's chest as she pleaded, "Can't you stay here? You know I'm very scared of ghosts." Ignis hesitated, torn between his own needs and Ivy's fears. After a moment, he relented, "But I really need to use the bathroom."

With a mixture of relief and reluctance, Ivy nodded. "Okay, but please be quick," she urged, her voice trembling slightly. Ignis smiled reassuringly before disappearing into the bathroom, leaving Ivy alone with her thoughts and the haunting whispers of the night.

As Ignis settled into his bed, the weight of exhaustion began to pull him into the realm of sleep. Yet, just as he was on the cusp of slumber, he felt a faint sensation—a breath, warm and steady, against the nape of his neck.

Ignis's senses snapped to attention, a prickling unease coursing through his veins.

With deliberate caution, Ignis turned, his heart pounding with anticipation. And there, nestled amidst the covers, lay Ivy, her features contorted with fear, on the brink of tears.

A jolt of alarm surged through Ignis as their eyes met, twin mirrors reflecting the terror that gripped them both.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" Ignis voice quivered with a mixture of shock and frustration, "You are supposed to be in your damn bed".

Tears welled in Ivy's eyes, her voice trembling as she choked back sobs. "I... I heard the cries of crows outside," she stammered, her words punctuated by hitched breaths. "I felt so... so frightened. I couldn't bear the thought of being alone, so I... I came here, hoping you'd return soon." Her admission was fraught with vulnerability, a fragile plea for reassurance in the face of unseen terrors.

As Ignis gazed into Ivy's eyes, their proximity igniting a spark of something unspoken in him, he found himself captivated by her ethereal beauty. Her delicate features seemed to glow in the soft light, each contour a testament to the artistry of nature. A rush of warmth flooded Ignis's heart as he marveled at the serendipitous alignment of their bodies, their figures fitting together like pieces of a puzzle.

With a nervous flutter in his chest, Ignis struggled to find the right words, his voice faltering as he spoke. "Um, well... I mean, if you... if you want to stay here, I don't mind," he stammered, his cheeks flushed with a rosy hue. "I'm not trying to... uh, force you or anything, it's just..." His words trailed off, lost amidst the tangled web of his emotions.

A radiant smile bloomed across Ivy's lips, her eyes twinkling with affection. "Thank you," she murmured, her voice a soft melody that danced upon the air. "You're... you're amazing, you know that?" Her words carried the weight of unspoken gratitude, a silent acknowledgment of the solace he offered in her moment of need.

As Ivy nestled closer, her head resting gently on Ignis's arm, he felt a rush of warmth spread through his veins, igniting a fire within him.

Her presence was intoxicating, her breath a gentle lullaby that whispered against his skin. Ignis couldn't tear his gaze away from her face, illuminated by the soft glow of moonlight filtering through the window.

He marveled at the delicate curve of her cheek, the flutter of her eyelashes as she drifted into slumber. With each rise and fall of her chest, Ignis felt a surge of tenderness swell within him, a longing to protect and cherish this precious moment.

He dared to brush his fingers lightly against her cheek, savoring the velvety softness of her skin beneath his touch.

As the night stretched on, Ignis battled against the tumultuous tide of his emotions, his heart racing with desire. He struggled to rein in his primal instincts, to resist the allure of Ivy's beauty.

But in the end, fatigue won out, and he succumbed to the gentle pull of sleep, his dreams filled with visions of a future entwined with Ivy's.

--

The first light of dawn painted the room in hues of soft gold as Ivy stirred from her slumber. Blinking sleepily, she found herself nestled against Ignis, her arms wrapped around him in a warm embrace. A small smile tugged at the corners of her lips as she savored the lingering sensation of their closeness.

Stretching languidly, Ivy felt a sense of contentment wash over her, a sense of peace that she hadn't experienced in quite some time. "Sleeping with a boy—especially a cute one—wasn't half bad," she thought to herself with a playful grin.

But as she shifted to get out of bed, her gaze fell upon Ignis's morning arousal, and a flush of embarrassment flooded her cheeks.

"What is that supposed to be?" she muttered to herself, her heart fluttering with a mixture of curiosity and intrigue. Hastily, she averted her gaze and made her way to the bathroom, her mind awash with thoughts of the unexpected discovery.

Ignis's eyes snapped open as he woke from his slumber, his mind still foggy from sleep. Rubbing the sleep from his eyes, he swung his legs over the edge of the bed and pushed himself upright. Ignoring the events of the previous night, his thoughts were solely focused on the urgent call of nature.

With single-minded determination, Ignis shuffled towards the bathroom, his gaze fixed on the door ahead. But as he pushed it open, his bleary eyes widened in surprise at the unexpected sight before him.

"Pink," he muttered, his voice laced with confusion and disbelief. For there, standing before him, was Ivy, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment as she hastily averted her gaze.

Caught off guard by the unexpected encounter, Ignis felt a rush of heat rise to his own cheeks as he struggled to process the situation. He realized that he just saw Ivy completely naked.

Quickly regaining his composure, he offered a sheepish smile and a mumbled apology before hastily retreating from the bathroom, his mind buzzing with a flurry of thoughts and emotions.

As Ivy stood in the bathroom, her mind still reeling from the unexpected encounter with Ignis, she couldn't shake the blush that stained her cheeks. Her gaze fell to the floor, her thoughts swirling with confusion and embarrassment. But as she looked down, her eyes widened in realization at Ignis's muttered words.

"Pink," he had said. The color flooded her mind with a sudden understanding, and her cheeks burned even hotter as she comprehended the implication of Ignis's remark.

With a mixture of shock and amusement, Ivy couldn't help but let out a nervous giggle, her embarrassment momentarily forgotten in the absurdity of the situation. She shook her head, still unable to fully process the whirlwind of emotions that had swept over her in such a short span of time.

After few minutes,

As Ivy emerged from the bathroom, her figure draped in towels and her hair tied up in a messy bun, she exuded an effortless charm that captivated the room. The soft fabric of the towels clung to her curves, accentuating the graceful lines of her silhouette with every step she took.

Her skin, still flushed from the warmth of the shower, glowed with a natural radiance that seemed to illuminate the space around her. Drops of water glistened on her shoulders and trailed down her neck in a delicate cascade, leaving a shimmering trail in their wake.

With each movement, Ivy's muscles flexed beneath the towels, hinting at a strength and vitality that lay just beneath the surface. Her slender arms moved with fluid grace as she tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear, revealing the elegant curve of her neck and the subtle arch of her collarbones.

As Ivy gracefully turned to acknowledge Ignis, her movements were fluid, almost ethereal, as if she floated across the room on a cloud of morning light. Her radiant gaze brushed against Ignis, a silent acknowledgment of his presence, yet she remained focused on her task.

The soft fabric of her towel caressed her skin, accentuating the gentle curves of her figure as she moved with effortless grace.

Ignoring Ignis's presence, she glided toward the cupboard with an air of serene confidence, her silhouette casting a mesmerizing shadow against the morning sun.

"I have prepared the breakfast, eat it up and get ready for school, I will take a bath in the meantime."

Ignis's words, though simple, hung in the air like a whispered promise, enticing her with the aroma of breakfast awaiting her.

With a subtle tilt of her head, Ivy acknowledged Ignis's offer, a coy smile playing at the corners of her lips.

"Don't think you can buy forgiveness with just a breakfast, you will need something more", Ivy show her demands,

"Ok your highness, I will keep that in mind," Ignis says and enters the bathroom.

The allure of his presence lingered in the room, a magnetic pull that she couldn't quite ignore. As she reached for her clothes, the delicate rustle of fabric seemed to echo the rhythm of her heartbeat, a silent symphony of anticipation.

After few minutes As Ignis emerges from the bathroom, droplets of water glisten on his jet-black hair, contrasting starkly against his fair complexion. His piercing blue eyes, like sapphires set in stone, exude an air of mystery and depth. With each step, he moves with a quiet confidence, his movements graceful and deliberate.

His features are chiseled, with a strong jawline and high cheekbones that give him a striking appearance. A faint stubble adorns his jaw, adding to his rugged charm. Despite his youthful appearance, there's a sense of maturity in his demeanor, as if he carries the weight of the world on his Shoulders.

Ivy couldn't help but notice a subtle change in Ignis's stature as he stood before her. Just the night before, she remembered being at eye level with him, but now she found herself looking up at him, her gaze resting on his broad shoulders rather than meeting his eyes.

With a curious tilt of her head, Ivy voiced her observation to Ignis, "You seem taller today. Did you grow overnight?" Her tone was a mix of surprise and amusement as she tried to make sense of the sudden shift in height.

"Maybe its your doing Your Higness, its a blessing to be with you" Ignis kneeled and said while grabbing his towel.

"Don't forget the word you used their, I have not forgiven you for that," Ivy pouted with her arms crossed.

As Ignis went to change his clothes, he couldn't shake the feeling of Ivy's eyes on him. Caught between embarrassment and a hint of flattery, he pretended not to notice her gaze as he continued with his task.

Ignis quickly donned his uniform, making sure to maintain his composure despite the awareness of Ivy's lingering glances.

As Ignis bent down to tie his shoe, Ivy suddenly exclaimed in shock, "Oh no, you're turning old! Your hair's turning white!" Her laughter echoed through the room as Ignis scrambled to comprehend her words, his expression a mix of confusion and amusement.

Ignis stared at his reflection in the mirror, his heart sinking as he noticed the silver roots creeping through his once-dark hair. Concern etched across his features, he opened his mouth to voice his worry, but before he could speak, Ivy's shrill voice pierced the air.

"We're late! Hurry up, Ignis!" Ivy grabbed his hand, her urgency propelling them both out of the dormitory and into the courtyard. Ignis stumbled after her, his mind still reeling from the sight of his changing appearance.

As they rushed into the classroom, the teacher greeted them with a warm smile, unfazed by their tardiness. Ignis and Ivy took their seats, Ivy's cheeks flushed with embarrassment as the teacher introduced her to the class.

Whispers rippled through the room, the students murmuring about Ignis's encounter with the powerful wolf. Some speculated that it was a stroke of luck, while others whispered of rumors involving magic-enhancing substances. Ignis's ears burned with embarrassment as he listened to the speculative chatter around him.

The class convened in the same spot where the wolf had attacked, the teacher's voice cutting through the murmurs as she reassured them that there was no danger of another wolf encounter. She called Tim to the front once more, explaining the task at hand.

This time, everything proceeded smoothly, the students were eager to demonstrate their magical aptitude. Ignis watched with a mixture of apprehension and determination, his mind still preoccupied with the unsettling changes happening to him.

Tim was called on the stage.
