Angelo watched her enter the art gallery safely, her hips sashayed as she walked. He bit his lip.
"Lord help me." He let out a whisper of a prayer for his sanity because she was beguiling.
His car roared to life, and he pulled away and headed towards Rory's tattoo parlour. He had Killian look up the details and had he had already sent him the location this morning.
When he arrived outside her shop he parked just outside the front door. The shop wasn't in the best area, he wondered how she managed to keep herself safe. He remembered what Raven had said last night. This girl was obviously tenacious.
The shop was dark and locked up, it didn't open until one in the afternoon, Killian had told him. But Killian had said that the girl owned the building, and her apartment was just above her shop.
He opened his car door and took a step out into the crisp air. Remembering what Raven was wearing this morning he paused and took out his phone to message her.
(Let me know when you are ready to come home. I will pick you up)
He did not want her travelling back home and possibly catching a cold. It was nearly autumn and there was the beginning of a chill in the air.
The shop windows where large and covered in designs, showcasing Rory's art style. He was glad Raven didn't have any tattoos. Her skin was beautiful, and he enjoyed the only marks on her body being the ones he gave her from his kisses and lovemaking.
Angelo walked around the side to the stairway and walked up to her blue door and he knocked.
After waiting a while and hearing no response he knocked again, this time it was harder as he banged on the door.
The door swung open, and Rory appeared with a scowl on her face. She had a messy bed head that resembled a bird's nest, and she wore a long black hoody. Clearly, he had woken her from her bed, and she was not happy about it.
"What the… oh it's you." Rory changed her tune after seeing him and she opened the door wide inviting him in. He walked into the hallway and closed it behind him.
"You are lucky, if it wasn't you, I had knocked you out for waking me. I only got asleep four hours ago." Rory announced as she walked into her small living room.
The apartment was smaller than Ravens was, he didn't know how they coped living in such a small space. But Rory living arrangements were not his business. Though for being Ravens friend he would upgrade her home and shop if Raven asked. But something told him this girl was not like others and did not ask for handouts.
She sat on her two seated sofa casually with her legs folded. He took this as an invitation to sit and so he sat on the armchair to the side of her.
She lazily yawned and he smiled at her. She wasn't afraid of him, this was interesting.
"How can I help you?" Rory enquired watching him.
Angelo sat forward, "Why aren't you afraid of me?" He asked slightly baffled by her response and casual attitude.
She laughed, "It takes a lot to scare me. Is that why you are here? To scare me away from my friend? Because that won't be happening, I can assure you of that."
"Good. I am glad she has a loyal friend." Angelo saw her roll her eyes.
"Then why are you here?" She asked yawning again.
"I am here to get the names of the scum that dared to touch my woman." Angelo announced, his eyes fierce with hatred.
Rory sat up, suddenly alert as her eyes searched his face before asking, "What did she tell you?"
"She told me enough to know they need to be punished." He answered flatly.
Rory nodded, "I know their names. I did my best all those years ago, but I was just as young as Raven at the time. I punished them the best I could. They live normal lives now, no one was ever aware of the event. It was the way Raven wanted it."
"Hmm." He nodded. "For being her close friend and looking out for her I will always be grateful. But I need to do this." He declared.
"What does Raven want?" She asked worry etched on her face.
Angelo was glad to see her loyalty again, "She doesn't have to know."
"Agh but if she finds out it will be worse for you. Tell her or you may lose her. She is big on trust." Rory advised.
"I will." Angelo replied, he wasn't sure what he would do yet.
Rory nodded, "They shouldn't be allowed normal lives when she is still haunted. I hoped karma would get them."
"Just call me karma." He added.
She nodded again and stood he followed her as she walked to a drawing desk and wrote on a slip of paper.
When she finished she approached him and asked, "Do you love her?"
He didn't like anyone questioning him, but because of who it was he let it slide and replied earnestly, "She was built for me, she was built for only me, everything that I could ever want, she embodies with graceful intent. My love, my sunrise."
She nodded in an approval and handed him the slip of paper. "The names are listed in order of the harm they caused."
Angelo's heart thudded and his anger flared as he gripped the paper and stood. He left the apartment without another word and walked down the stairs calling Killian.
He gave him orders to locate and procure the men for him. Killian offered to handle the job but he refused this was something he had to carry out himself.
He got in his car and headed to a meeting, he needed to distract himself until he could get his revenge.
