Below deck, Rowena sat with the other women. Scholastica had thankfully been rescued and hopefully the rest of them would be rescued soon as well... If the storm did not sink this Hyperionite trireme.
As the thunder raged outside, rocking the ship back and forth, Rowena looked at her fellow captives. Her sister-in-law Eithne was in general about the whole thing, even complaining that someone of her station deserved better accommodations, even if she was an abductee. Taurus' sister Pasiphae, on the other hand, was more bothered by the fact that the Hyperionites were so determined to keep them that they would risk being at sea during a storm.
"That is indeed worrisome, Pasiphae." Rowena commented, wondering how Acinonyx could be sure that they would not be sent down to the depths. Did they have divine protection? What deity could even stand up against the power of the Storm Falcon and protect a ship from sinking? The Earth Bull? The Wine Ram? The Cow of the Harvest? The Donkey God? The Sky? The Earth? No lesser deity could have protected a ship from the Storm Falcon's work, could they?
Alas, she knew not.
Looking to the other abductees, huddling together in fear, hoping that the trireme would not be sunk, Rowena began to grow a bit more frightened at the possibility. There was no one madder than someone willing to take to sea during a storm and unfortunately, such people were their captors.
As much as Rowena was tempted to run up on deck and hurl herself into the sea, there were two factors that prevented her from doing so. The first was that she would not abandon her fellow abductees, the second was that even she did jump into sea, what would happen to her? No doubt she'd either be drowned or dashed against some rocks. Such an action was foolish.
