"Mother." Khan spoke, "Feng Jie is a vampire."
"A vampire?" Madam inquired, "Doesn't that explain a lot?"
"Mother, I'm puzzled. Will Old Lord Bark-Well summon him? I imagine so, but I'm worried. He hates all beings other than humans let alone bastard children." Khan explained, "He might ensure that Feng Jie is dead for real, even if he is the eldest grandson…"
"He wouldn't." Madam smiled, "Not after learning about a mess his second eldest son did. Aish, he'll have to have the loss of a potential heirs or disown his son, either way—it's a mess in full time and manners as well."
"Mother, there are rumors that the princess of the south lands wants me to be her main consort, but I didn't even become at the age of marriage. Who marries at fifteen years old? You can't even have children for the risk of future problems as well." Khan explained, "I don't intend to marry such a person, to begin with."
"You not worried she might force you to marry?" Madam inquired.
"Please mother, don't joke about such a thing." Khan snorted, "If anything she might force Feng Jie once she sees him, rumor has it she adores handsome men more than useful ones, an addiction indeed."
"You aren't Adair's something worse it to come." Madam chuckled, "I imagine she might turn up dead, for anything."
"Likely by Haru." Khan remarked, "Though Haru might not seem like it, he's far deadlier than one could imagine. Rumor has it he was trained by the Bing Jing Shadow guard at age of five. A shadow guard is said to have killed even the most powerful upper dragons in the bloodlines. Imagine the ever so docile Haru, raised in such a place—a sword without being known for a sword sharpness, indeed a tricky thing as well."
