Chapter 13 - Confession

Tatsu: "Hey! Kori! Wait up! Dammit, she's fast!"

This crowd is huge, I might lose her if I'm not careful. I can just barely see her ahead of me.

Tatsu: "Single point casting: boost!"

Closing in on Kori, I managed to catch her attention. She swiveled around and…

Kori: "Hyaa!"

Tatsu: "Ack! What was that for? Karate chopping someone in the face is not a normal greeting, you know!"

Kori: "The moment I saw your face, I had an overwhelming urge to hit it, so I did."

Tatsu: "I'm going to ignore that remark. Anyways, where are you headed from here?"

Kori: "I don't know, it's none of your business anyway."

Tatsu: "Yeah, that's not gonna fly. I don't want to see those bracelets I gave you at some vendor stall simply because you don't have a game plan."

Kori: "jeez! Mind your damn business! What's with your stupid interrogation? You tryna piss me off or what?"

Tatsu: "You really are an idiot, aren't you? I just wanted to make sure you were going to be alright after we parted, but you have to go all 'aggro' on me. Is it really that bad to be worried for a friend?

Kori: "I!… you… you consider me to be your friend?"

Tatsu: "I mean, yeah, of course. Why wouldn't I?"

Kori: "I thought you blamed me for killing you in your previous life."

Tatsu: "That was years ago, and I'm incapable of holding a grudge for more than five seconds. Besides, we spent two months on the road adventuring together. Admittedly, you were a pretty essential part of our team. Good with money, tactics, and a skilled archer."

Kori: "Yeah, It was pretty fun to travel with you, even Jim was tolerable throughout the trip."

Tatsu: "Well, if you don't mind Jim being there, how would you feel about continuing to travel along with us?"

Kori: "That sounds nice, I think I'll take you up on that. I won't be able to be your archer for a while, but I can still be your strategist and did I mention I'm good with money?"

Tatsu laughed: "Alright then, I welcome you to the party once more."

Kori: "Hehe, happy to be a part of it. Oh and, sorry for karate chopping you earlier, it'll definitely happen again."

Tatsu: "At least you're honest about it. Let's get back to the others, before they start to miss us."

Kori: "yeah."

Throughout our journey, I had started to realize just how big of a part she played in our team. If she had gone off, I'm sure she'd be fairly well off adventuring on her own. We might not have fared as well, and I knew that if I asked her to stay, it would purely be for that one selfish reason. That's why I didn't have the courage to chase her until Irumina told me to. But still, I'm glad she still wants to travel with us. I'll need to thank her later. Since she needs a new bow, I might as well make one for her.

Kori: "c'mon, Tatsu! Weren't you the one who said to hurry up?"

Tatsu: "Yeah, I'm right behind you, Kori."
