Chapter 17 - Castle Crashing

Jim: "Wooaaah! I'd love to live somewhere this fancy! Not bad, princess."

Irumina: "Call me princess one more time, and I'll break every bone in your body."

Jim: "Right, right. My bad, your highness,"

Irumina: "You really have a death wish don't you?"

???: "What up, what up! It's wonderful to see you again, daughter dearest!"

Irumina: "Greetings, your majesty."

King Teiwa: "That's no way to greet your old man! Just call me 'Pops'! Your friends can feel free to do the same."

Jim chimed in with an upbeat tone: "right on, right on, there daddy-o! You good with that name?"

King Teiwa: "Ah, I see at least one of your companions can vibe to the grooviness of my castle! Might I know the name of such a charming fellow?"

Jim: "My name is Jim! Back in my world, I was known as the Disco King, I could bust moves so rad, it sent pros home in absolute shame."

King Teiwa: "Perhaps a dance off is an order once we've settled down then! So tell me, who might this one be?"

Pointing at the small tanuki girl, King Teiwa gestured for her to introduce herself.

Kori stiffly spoke: "H-hello mister king umm… sir. My name is Kori, and umm… it's nice to m-meet you…"

After speaking, Kori hid behind Irumina, who then proceeded to speak.

Irumina: "Alright, now that that's been established, what did you call me here for? It better be important, or I'm leaving."

???: "We've called you here because you've been away and we want to see our daughter, isn't that enough?"

King Teiwa: "Ah, I see you've arrived dear. Tell me, how was that seminar of yours?"

Queen Ella: "ahh, I've longed to read a book as good as this one, the plot is so riveting and the romance is brilliant. But, they still don't hold a candle to the stories my grandmother would tell me. Oh, it would seem that we have some extra guests, pray tell dear, might they be Irumina's friends?"

King Teiwa: "You are quite correct Ella, well done! Yes, these other two are Jim and Kori."

Queen Ella: "Just the three of you, then? I figured your party would be bigger."

Jim: "oh! There is a fourth! His name is Tatsu. He's the party leader, but he's currently out gathering supplies from the local markets."

Queen Ella: "He sounds like quite a diligent young adventurer, it's good to have a competent party leader, but will he be okay by himself."

Irumina: "I wouldn't worry about him, mother. Tamina's with him so I doubt anything bad will happen."

Queen Ella: "oh my, a boy and a girl on a shopping trip with no chaperone? How wonderfully youthful! It sounds like such a lovely date! She sees something she likes, but isn't sure if it looks good on her, the boy tells her how lovely she looks and buys it for her and all of a sudden their love blossoms! Ooh! I'm just a sucker for cliches like that!"

Wiggling to and fro, Queen Elle let out a squeal like a teenager having her first crush. Kori on the other hand was mumbling angrily to herself…

Kori: "Wait, what if that was my cue to get more one-on-one time with Tatsu? That could be us having that lovely time… Not that I really want it. I just don't want some floozy trying to get in his pants and distracting him from his party leader duties… He needs to think of the party above all else. M-hmm, that's right."

Guard A: "excuse me, my king, but Princess Tamina has returned.

King Teiwa: "Ah, yes, bring her through! I'd like to meet this 'Tatsu' fellow."

Guard A: "yes, sir."

He and three other guards ran out of the room and returned with Tatsu and Tamina.

Tamina knelt before her father and spoke: "Father, I have returned with Irumina's party unharmed. There was a slight delay with the last member, but I have completed the task to the greatest of my ability."

King Teiwa: "excellent work, my daughter, now then, you are Tatsu, correct?"

Tatsu: "Yes, that's correct, your majesty."

King Teiwa: "Haha! We can skip the formalities, yes? Just Teiwa is fine. Now then, there are fresh adventurers in my hall today, I feel like a sparring match is an order. Tatsu, would you enlighten me?"

Tatsu: "Eh?"
