At sharp 9 am I was standing right before the academy gates. They were still closed as the time for 'The Opening Ceremony' was 10 am. I didn't want to go, but I had no other choice since I was told I would be expelled if I didn't attend.
As there was still an hour left for the ceremony , I decided to wait in a nearby coffee shop. The shop was very quite as there was no one beside me and the manager. After ordering a medium size coffee I sat in the corner of the hall.
While I was waiting for my coffee , suddenly my phone vibrated.

" Ah~ , Thank you" I replied suddenly. Taking a sip of my coffee , my train of thoughts came to life again. This year the number of students accepted were only 60 from around 300,000 applicants. This is also the reason why Lord's is popular , Only the top of the cream can enter the academy . The students are given lots of opportunities and resources throughout the year . They are groomed to become the perfect hunters that every Guilds has their eyes on.
Speaking of Guilds, they are the organizations which provide the hunters to take part in dungeon raids and tower raids. In this world you cannot go into a dungeon without a license for that particular dungeon and the license for even an f rank (the lowest rank) dungeon goes for 10 million ps per person. That is the reason guilds are necessary as they are given seats in the raids from the 'Hunter's Alliance' directly according to the guilds rank. But that is only the case for dungeons and already conquered towers .
A dungeon is a pocket dimension where one can enter through a portal . Once a person enters a dungeon , he is required to clear two stages. First stage can be anything from killing a number of monsters to completing a specified condition . The second stage is always a boss monster fight. The hunter gets a choice to return after completing every stage or he can choose to continue. Also in dungeons there is no lower limit for people to enter, as there is only an upper limit. Also only a single party or person can enter at one time. When a dungeon is failed more than 7 times , A dungeon break occurs. In a dungeon break the monsters starts coming out of the portal and the habitat around it also changes making it impossible to live in that area. When dungeons appeared for the first time many tried and failed one after another which resulted in large number of dungeon breaks. Over 50% of land was poisoned and turned inhabitable.
Many countries and kingdoms fell during that times.
Now with human awakening and technological advancements we build massive cities . Cities are classified into 3 types - Large , Medium , Small. There are 2 large cities , 4 medium cities , 11 small cities. Lord's Academy is situated in Keston city , one of the 2 large cities. All the large and medium cities are build around 6 Towers.
Towers are huge tomb like structures that appeared out of nowhere on the same day when dungeon portals appeared. But there is a big difference between dungeon and a tower , that is the tower chooses who enters it unlike dungeons where anyone can enter.
'hmmm' I glanced at my coffee cup which was already empty. Then I checked the time on my phone.
It was 9.35 am . The coffee shop was exactly 4 minutes away from academy , so I decided to stay for some more time. I started scrolling through the list once again .

Someone came in through the door . . . . and our eyes met. As soon as our eyes met , the person came towards me and sat in front of me. She had thick blonde hair, red eyes , short hair and a muscular build. In short she was your typical tomboyish girl character.
Hilda Volt, that was her name.
And she was the younger sister of my sister-in-law.
