Chapter 3 - The Lazy Wanderer

Gandalf named the two kids after the names he found on the pendants they held in their hands: the blue-eyed baby was named "Aries," while the black-eyed baby was named "Prose."

Jaguara was happily playing with his new brothers when Gandalf quietly left the tree house and moved a few steps away.

Gandalf took a deep breath, looked over the mountain, and sighed.

He then cast wind and water magic to create a water and air bubble.

That bubble was in Gandalf's palm.

He began by using wind magic on the bubble's outer surface, making the water inside the bubble vibrate, and then released the bubble into the air.

The wind carried the bubble in the same direction that the mysterious person is hiding, moving slowly in that direction.

Gandalf stared at the bubble for a few moments before walking to the tree house and sat on a wooden chair outside the tree house.

The bubble approached the mysterious person slowly, instead of dodging it, the mysterious figure made a smirk as he saw the bubble.

That bubble burst with a huge "pop" sound, and then another voice came out of it, saying, "If you're going to hide, do it correctly, Idiot."

This sounded almost like Gandalf shouting at this mystery man.

There's no point in hiding in front of this monster, the mysterious man thought and began descending down the mountain toward the tree house.

The mysterious man appeared near the tree house. "Yo, how you doing, 'The Lazy Wanderer?" Gandalf welcomed, waving his hand.

When Gandalf welcomed the lazy wandered, he didn't have a pleasant expression on his face; instead, he appeared irritated.

It's only natural given that he cast advanced concealment techniques and was caught by a lower-tier wind and air magic.

Jaguara quickly burst out racing with Prose in his hand and Aries wrapped around his tail as he heard the name "The lazy wanderer".

Jaguara approached the lazy wanderer and began sniffing the sack he was carrying on his back.

"Stop doing that, you should not behave like this to Lukas", Gandalf dragged Jaguara away from Lukas by holding his ears.

Gandalf also lectured Lukas for encouraging Jaguara's bad behavior.

Lukas began giggling as he said, "Why are you being so strict, he's still a child."

Gandalf looked at Lukas with a disappointed facial expression and went inside the tree house.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Lukas kept asking Gandalf as he entered inside the tree house, followed by Jaguara, who was carrying Aries and Prose.

Jaguara was only interested in Lukas's bag because Lukas was known as "the Lazy Wanderer." He often travels to many villages and towns, and if he found anything delicious to eat, he would stay in that place without doing any job, therefore he acquired his nickname from this.

So Jaguara is aware that Lukas always has something tasty in his backpack.

Lukas opened his bag and took out some aromatic fruits and sweets.

Lukas said that he will give these fruits and sweets, but first, he must feed the little babies.

Jaguara nodded, went outside, and returned with some fruits. Lukas crushed the fruits, extracted the juice, and used a folded leaf to feed the fruit juice to Aries and Prose.

Jaguara is busy enjoying the sweets given by Lukas, Aries is messing with Jaguara's tail, and Prose is sleeping quietly while Gandalf and Lukas tease each other.

Gandalf suddenly changed his expression to one of seriousness and questioned gently, "What brings you here, what do you know about Aries and Prose?"

"Don't look at me like that, I just followed them" Lukas replied with a little fear in his voice.

"Don't look at me like that, I just followed them," Lukas replied, his voice trembling.

For a few moments, Gandalf stared outside the tree house.

"So, what are you doing in Aimer? What did you mean when you said you were following Aries and Prose? Gandalf asked a sequence of questions.

Lukas abruptly changed the subject, asking, "What did you do with the pendants?"

Gandalf replied they are safe and pulled a box from a wooden shelf and gave the box to Lukas.

Lukas was surprised. To be more specific, I was astounded. Not by the beauty of the pendants but by the magic enveloping the pendants made by Gandalf.

It was dark magic encircling the pendants; Lukas is aware that only a handful are capable of casting dark magic, but he had never seen Gandalf use it before.

Lukas couldn't contain his excitement and inquired, "What does this dark spell do?" and how does it function?

"You are obnoxious as ever; you dodged my inquiries yet want me to answer your queries as usual," Gandalf muttered to Lukas.

Lukas laughed back and turned his attention to the dark magic that encircled the pendants.

Jaguara finished his sweets and shifted his attention to the pendants Lukas was holding.

Jaguara tried to touch the dark magic encircling the pendant out of curiosity, but Lukas slapped his hand away from the pendant before they realize, Prose had already grabbed the pendant from the box.

Nobody saw Prose; everyone assumed he was sleeping. Gandalf and Lukas were taken aback because only the caster and those who have mastered dark magic can touch dark magic without experiencing any ill effects.

Prose's holding of the pendant demonstrates his proclivity for dark magic. Lukas reclaimed the pendant from Prose's hands.

Prose burst into tears, and when Aries saw him, he burst into tears as well.

While Lukas and Gandalf tried to comfort them, Jaguara took both Aries and Prose in his arms and began heading outdoors.

Lukas observed this and commented that Jaguara resembles a big brother. Gandalf laughed and asked Lukas to close the box and place it on the wooden shelf.

Gandalf stated that he will only explain about dark magic if Lukas reveals everything he knows about Aries and Prose, as well as the cause for his visit to the aimer.

Lukas consented to the terms and began to listen to Gandalf.

Gandalf began by stating that these pendants constantly emit a magical aura, making them difficult to conceal and aiding foes or other people in locating their whereabouts.

Normal wind magic is virtually useless for concealing them since they are so bright. Even while wind magic masks their magical power, it cannot disguise their excessively luminous physical presence.

As a result, he used dark energy to create a barrier. He also mentioned that this dark barrier had significant drawbacks.

Lukas was curious about the disadvantage, so he asked Gandalf to explain.

Gandalf responded that this dark magic constantly absorbs magical energy from the user or its surroundings and that in the case of pendants, this dark magic barrier maintains its form by absorbing energy from the pendants.

Lukas got a general idea of the spell and how it works, and he praised Gandalf for devising such an incredible magical barrier.

But Gandalf was not pleased with Lukas' praise; all he wanted to know was why Lukas was here and the truth about Aries and Prose.

Lukas made the decision to tell Gandalf everything he knew.

A thunderous roar erupted from outside the tree house. Gandalf and Lukas both walked outdoors to see what was going on...
