Chapter 25 - Miss Martin (4)

She danced, swinging her two swords with beauty. She held her two blue-blazing swords, looking like she was holding two light sticks. The rhythm of her legs and arms kept moving every second to slash the monster's body. She closed her eyes several times and closed her eyes. She did that because it determined the direction of her next attack. Her body continued to sway, trying to avoid areas from the monster's attack range.

She attacked relentlessly, but the monster continued to defend. Maybe he has a lot of HP to survive until now. Even so, if he continued to take continuous damage from the woman's two swords, his HP would continue to decrease. Even if he had ten layers of HP, the damage the woman dealt was already too much for him. Maybe his HP has decreased significantly, leaving 1-3 layers of HP.

"Dual Sword… is she a warrior?" I asked, looking at the woman.

She had two weapons in her hands, and they were long swords. One that can use those is a Warrior or Assassin job. But seeing and realizing the characteristics of the Assassin job, which should play silently and piercingly, she is not an Assassin. She must be a warrior, wielding a long sword weapon with a long sword sub-weapon.

I watched her because I saw what it could do against the monster. Job Warrior has almost the same damage as well defense, 60% attack and 50% defense or 50% defense and 60% attack. In other words, she could only attack the monster with small attacks. Moreover, she had been attacking the monster for 15 minutes non-stop. So, she needed at least six more minutes to end the battle—if the monster's HP was 2-3 layers left.

I don't know how much HP the monster has, but I can guess when it will end from how his attack patterns haven't changed. I don't know how strong the monster is, but I know that every monster will change its attack pattern every time its HP bar gets thinner. I don't know the character level of the woman and the monster, but I can tell that the woman is a Warrior who doesn't have a big attack, and the monster can survive this far.

My instincts told me the battle would be over in a long time. That's because the monster hasn't shown his attack pattern yet, and the woman can't keep attacking with the same attack. So, it will be long over.

The determination of who would win the battle was when the monster changed his attack and defense patterns. He has that new pattern to show. I'm looking forward to the woman's reaction if that happens, whether she's prepared herself or not.

She slashed her last strike before her two swords stopped blazing.

"Hah… Hah… Hah…" She breathed heavily, looking exhausted.

The lightning in her hand had already dissipated, and her character's stamina had been drained a lot. She can't attack the monster right now, I think. She took a few seconds to recover her character's stamina. But if she has the Power Bottle item, she can replenish her character's stamina and attack the monster again.

As she glanced back, forth, left, and right, perhaps to find a way to escape, the monster's entire body suddenly changed. I saw his whole body keep getting bigger and taller by the second. Even his muscles too. Even the flanged mace looked small in his hand. He is much bigger, seven times bigger than the human body.

I saw the woman was surprised when she saw the change. Her legs kept going back. Her eyes fell on the monster's face as if she didn't expect it to happen. Her chest seemed to sway, indicating that her heart was pumping blood rapidly. Her friends were surprised to see the monster. Some of them chose to stand up and run away. Some were stuck there, reaching out and telling the woman to go with them.

"Seriously? I've attacked him many times, but why now…?"

She looked limp. Her legs folded, and she sat limply. Her eyes could only look at the monster.

"Lady Martin... Lady Martin!!!"

Some of her friends shouted and told her to leave. They were screaming at the exit, 10 meters from the woman.

As the monster transformed, he started walking toward the woman with heavy steps.

"Oh my God... she wasn't ready for this yet," I said and stood up.

I have to be involved with this, like it or not. I had to help her because she needed help. I can't ignore her because I don't know her. I have to care about other people, even with an NPC in this game.

My distance from her and the monster is 25 meters. Hissatsu Kyuten skill can attack from 100 meters away, so distance is not a problem for me. But still, my attacks couldn't injure the monster. Even if it could injure him, it could only be 1%. It's like a small scratch when you receive a wound from your fingernail. Even so, I still have to help her.

I said that in my mind. Then I closed my eyes, took hold of the hilt and scabbard of my katana, and took a deep breath. I focused on one point where the monster was; in the middle of the arena.

He moves but has a slow movement. Even so, his footsteps were three times bigger than a human's. Every time he took a step, three human footsteps passed. The distance from the woman is only 12 meters. That means I only have 4 seconds before the monster stands in front of her. Then... speed... give me speed like a flash of lightning that burns in the sky.

I'm focused. I focus on the movement in my closed eyes. I described the position the monster and the woman were in. Then when all this was almost clear, I opened my eyes and lunged; from the stands to the arena.

I arrived in front of the monster within 3 seconds. It was a perfect time. Then I disappeared and appeared 5 meters behind him after successfully slashing my katana blade into his right leg.

"Hehehe..." I turned around and saw the monster.

I smiled with satisfaction when I found out that my attack had managed to injure him, even if it was only 0.2%.

What is this? My ultimate attack doesn't work on him? What the f*ck...

"Oy, oy, Hippopotamus… your enemy is me! Fight me!"

He turned to me. He seemed to have realized who had just injured him.

Honestly, I'm pretty sure I would die instantly if I kissed his flanged mace just once. Even so, this is my choice. This is absolute because I have chosen. I chose to involve myself in this situation.

"Oi, that woman over there. How long have you been sitting there? Are you the princess who can only sit behind your father?"

She couldn't see me because of the monster's body, and neither did I. The monster's body was too big that I couldn't see her, even if it was just her legs.

"ME?"

I think she wonders; my words go to her or someone else.

"Yeah, you. Don't you want to meet your friends over there?"

"Oh..."

She only responded, "oh".

"Then go to your friends! You don't want to be eaten by this hippopotamus, do you?"

"Hippopotamus? Isn't that the Minotaur?"

Somehow she responded to what I said. She better go now instead of responding to me.

"Your voice..."

"My voice?" I ask. "What's wrong with my voice?"

"Your voice is familiar to my ears. You're like someone I know."

"Maybe your friend is using my voice. Anyway, can you hurry up now!? Don't blame me if the hippopotamus turns towards you."

The monster is still confused to determine who will be attacked. It seems that the aggro (aggravation) the woman as I have, so the monster is confused. This was her chance to escape.

"How about you?" She asked.

"Ah… I have mud for him."

That's my lie. I knew I couldn't escape. I knew my character would die here. I knew only one of us could escape. Still, it's fun, sacrificing myself just for my curiosity about dying in this game.

"No… I don't want to go. Let me handle this... NO!!!"

I heard the woman scream. Maybe her friends had picked her up by force.

"He could die. Let me fight that monster!"

"Lady Martin, calm yourself! We have to get out of here! The situation is not what we expected. So, we have to leave this place now... right now!"

"Not...!"

"Lady Martin..."

Their voices slowly faded away from me.

When she and their voice were not heard, I looked at the monster's face with optimism.

"And now..."

PWOUF!

His flanged mace landed right on my cheek. The attack hit my character, and I died instantly, even if it was just one hit.

My character wakes up on a bed in a church after walking through a dark hallway. While trapped in that dark room, I found a light (way out). I managed to respawn after getting past the death that took me 14 minutes. In other words, I was stuck there for 14 minutes before finding the bright light that was my exit.

As my character's consciousness recovered, I saw a notification appear on my screen. It says, "You get the death penalty. We have deducted your twenty silver coins. Please be more careful, don't get killed again!"

I couldn't help but shake my head when I discovered there was a penalty because my character had died before.

"Ah... Is this my punishment for leaving my girlfriend? This is very sad. I hope my character doesn't die again. I hope I can control my feelings of concern."

After saying that, I got up from the bed and stood up.

"Okay. Time to find Alice. She should know about the pictures."
